Hello Hiders!

I picked this up as part of a larger trade deal a while back and I'm just now getting around to putting it up for sale. The problem is, I have no idea what to actually ask for it. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Leupold MK4 12-40 FFP Spotting Scope with Mil Dot Reticle. Has BOG Tripod components seen in pics, but no tripod.

Condition:
Glass is clear and I can see no blemishes or scratches of any kind. The adjustments turn smoothly there's nothing loose.
The body of the scope appears to have no marks. Any anomaly seen in the pictures is just lint. Other than that, not the best pictures, I know.

I intend to place it in the classified section ASAP. What is a fair market price?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

Let's Talk About MV Temp Tables In Ballistic Calculators!

First who uses this feature and how much of a difference does it make vs not?

Second I understand temperatures affecting powder burn rates and therefore affecting MV and that is what the MV Temp Table is for, but doesn't the Kestrel assume the ammo temperature is the same as the ambient/air temperature when calculating MV. Other words let's say you are on a hunt and the ambient/air temperature is 32F, but you just loaded your rifle with ammo that was in your pocket and close to your body temperature 98F or the sun warmed the rifle and also warmed the round in the chamber wouldn't that change the MV. I guess what I am getting at is it seems like in order for all this to be accurate the Kestrel needs to know the temperature of the ammo along with the ambient/air temp. Is that correct? @Kestrel Ballistics

Remington 700 prefit?

Hello Hide. Hoping to get a little advice on a budget build. I have a Remington 700 ADL chambered in 300WM. It is currently sitting in a MDT HS3 chassis and has a Timney 510 trigger. The plan has always been to rebarrel it with a heavier profile, then work up a load to shoot out to 1 mile at my local range. However, being a budget rifle I’ve always been hesitant to put a lot of money into the rebarrel. I was considering trying one of the new Outlier prefits made by the Arken Optics guys. With their current sale I can get a 26” fluted for less than $300. My question is, am I correct in assuming it will have a barrel nut, and do you think I’ll have enough clearance for one in the MDT HS3 chassis? I’d also like to know if anyone has experience with the accuracy of those barrels but I’m assuming they are too new for many to have tried them. Another question would be if anyone knows anyone in the Charlotte NC area that could install the barrel for me. I really want to keep this build cheap as possible since it will only be a range toy and I dont shoot competition. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
