PWS large frame, can it be rebarreled?

I traded into PWS 6.5 Creedmoor with a 18 inch barrel. I know that they are a long stroke piston rifle. My question is as I no nothing about piston AR platforms is can it be rebarreled as is or changed over to a DI rifle down the road if you shot the barrel out? Are the upper receivers different to a DI upper? Or would you have to send it back to PWS to have a new barrel installed?

Thanks,
Dan

Adding weight

So I just bought another Christensen MPR this one is in 300 WM . Now I have no illusions on making this a true bench gun , ( primary use Elk hunting ) However I would like to add some weight for range use . ( just taming the recoil even further )

I am aware that there are some ways to add weight to other chassis but there does not seem to be a " kit " for this gun . I happen to have a few machines that I own for my shop . Mill lathe ( I build engines for a living) So I can make my own weights if machine work is needed . However I am thinking that a better way would me to mold a few items with tungsten powder . Sure it may not have the race car look of a machined part but the weight factor is much higher .

I could make a long weight under the barrel , The grip being hollow another fine location , and making a insert for the lower butt stock portion as well .

I have used the search function here am aware MPA makes a bag rider for it . I do not want to buy anther chassis for it just a way to easily add weight for a laid back range session and for the one or two hunts a year shed the weight and I am back to the low weight pack rig I like .

I am open to opinions All and any . suggestions from guys that shoot more from the bench as well .. I have not had much time for range shooting but that has changed some and I am now just starting to work with my friend as his spotter and he does shoot in matches . It re lite the spark for me , as well decided to forgo the deer lease this year to open up some more time .

If I am way off base and I am just spinning my wheels again open to suggestions

Thank you for reading

25-06 powder and bullet recommendations

Looking for recommendations on powders and bullets for a 24" barrel 25-06 that will hopefully decapitate coyotes. I would prefer good load density and velocity, and not a lot of speed variation from ~55 to 10 degrees or so.

I have a few Reloder powders available 17.19.22,25,26 both 4831's, h4350, and others. Plethora of bullets 85/100/115 grain Nosler Ballistic tips, 117 SST hornadys. I may have a box each of 90 and 100 grain Sierra matchkings.

In the past I used imr4831 and RL19 in a 26" barrel with 85/100 grain fodder.

Definitely NOT interested or concerned about saving hides, but am interested in shock and awe and painting the country side or snow.

Vortex 1-6x LPVO US Army Rangers Contract kit

If interested, the popular Razor 1-6 Gen 2 HD-E in SPF with a 5.56 BDC reticle used by SOCOM. Comes with a pretty nice Armageddon soft case and an extended Vortex mount. We have been selling the Razor 1-6x with a Geissele SOPMOD mount.

Probably the Geissele mount is nicer, but for our core customers, getting a true SOCOM contract is always nice.

You can DM me if ready to buy. We have a limited number, but have an allocation for 'hide member treats.

Anyone in Arlington VA heard of Fred Baker Sporting

They have a listing on Guns International and their email comes back as EP International LLC which when I dig is an importing company for UK originated firearm transfers/imports. My Gun Import webpage has the same person I am conversing with. The map comes back to a residence. I cannot find anything other than what I listed. Hoping someone has a clue.

I appreciate any help.

Address listed is:

SOLD LaRue Tactical - Harris Bipod BRM-S and 706 QD Swivel Mount Combo - New $175

I have eight that I was going to use on all of my rifles, but I ended up not using them. These were bought a few years ago and have just been sitting in the box. They are all brand new.

I am asking $175 each. Direct from LaRue, they are $275. It seems they changed the mount slightly and now call it the LT706. These have the 706.

From https://www.larue.com/products/harris-bipod-brm-s-and-lt706-qd-swivel-mount-combo/

Hey all,
After being prodded by some folks, we've attacked the problem of bipods. Here's the result. What we did is designed and machined a new built-in LT mount ... we cannibalize a Harris BRM-S ... merge it all together and VOILA' ... glorious bipod goodness. It tilts left and right, it's lighter by several ounces than the original, it's got our LT-QD stuff on it. It's easy to put on and take off. It's spine is a Harris. It's all good.

Hope it's to your liking, they are already in-the-field. ;-)
ML

Easy tension adjustability, in a lower-profile package.
This product combines the excellent swiveling Harris BRM-S 6"-9" bipod with an integral, low-profile LaRue QD lever mount. We have replaced the Harris OEM stud attachment base with a custom chassis... ruling-out the risk of the stud screw and grabber becoming loose. By doing so, we were able to lower the profile by roughly .25". A large knob on the rear provides easy leverage when adjusting swivel tension, especially when in the prone position. The bipod has 6-9" Legs (with leg notches). The notched legs provide a more positive lockup, keeping legs from collapsing unintentionally.

Our adjustable base attaches to any MIL-1913 picatinny rail. Complete with necessary hardware, tools and Instructions.

Deciding between 25GT and 25x47

Did some research, eliminated 25 Creedmoor, 25 PRC and 25 Dasher. Couldn't decide between these last 2 calibers for shooting paper target or knocking steel plate around 1000-1300yards, wonder if I could get some suggestions to help me choose between these two.

Would be shooting in prone and single load most of the time, would try casual PRS match using 28inch barrel probably in 7-7.5twist with berger 135 hybrid.
Spot hit or miss is not that crucial if not shooting PRS, most of the PRS match I go to is around 500-700 so it should be a problem to see it.
I know 25GT is slower and has less case capacity to push it to higher speed and longer range than the 25x47 , but it has less recoil I believe.

For reloading components and tools, I know Alpha makes brass for both, seems only SAC has dies for both calibers, Forster only has dies for 25GT.
Reamer wise, Manson has 25x47 in stock, not sure who else makes good reamer apart from Alpha's legacy reamer.

Anything else I missed?
