Telson Optics - 99.8% Light Transmission?!?

Yes 99.8% - How is that possible considering companies like ZCo, S&B, TT, Zeiss, Leica, Steiner, Kahles, Swaro, etc etc. hover around 92%

So I noticed this spec on their website and brought it up to them on one of their youtube videos. Their response was "That is not the light transmission through the entire scope, JUST the objective lens"

I find this to be an incredibly dishonest spec to put on your website knowing the ENTIRE optics community determines LT% the same way.....by using a spectrophotometer to measure the light intensity after it passes thru the ENTIRE SYSTEM....not just the objective lens!! I think we can all can agree that telling use the LT% of JUST the objective lens is a completely pointless spec considering we look thru the entire system, not just that lens.

What are your thoughts on this?
Dishonest marketing?
Why not use the same standard as everyone else??

Send it/crush it mount

I shoot gray ops scope mount and I’ve always used the send it mounted on the scope mount. When I got the crush it timer I couldn’t figure out where to run it on my rifle. I found using Velcro was the best but not good. I’ve seen a few 3d printed mounts but I feel they would not hold up to prs. I spent about an hour on a Bridgeport today and came up with this. It’s aluminum and super solid.
It’s not perfect but it’s good.

Executive orders

Reversing the EO's that biden(handlers) put into place is great. Quick and easy. But am I the only one who just doesn't like the idea of EO in general? I mean the CIC isn't a king...plus, the EOs will be easy target for reversal, just as Trump is doing now. This country needs some of this common-sense shit stuff codified into law, wtf is the legislature doing? Both senate/house are "red", yes? Getting weary of EO this and EO that and everyone cheering. Don't get me wrong, I know a lot of it was necessary, but....

Residential fire resistance standards

My place is on 5 acres outside city limits and last year my fire insurance went up $500/month. I am in the process of stripping all of the shitty siding off of the mobile home and barn and am looking at adding 1 1/2” Rockwool Comfortboard 80 (rated non combustible by UL) all the way around the outside for several reasons and the non combustible rating is one of them then cladding the whole thing in metal siding (and a metal roof). My question is are there any industry standards on fire resistance that I can go by to get an underwriting memo with my insurance to save some money? I have done a lot of Googling and can’t find a definitive answer

Trudeau’s Canada: Canadian Police Advise Leaving Car Keys in Front Door to Deter Break-Ins and Minimize Conflict with Thieves.

Toronto-Police-Service-TPS-Constable-Marco-Ricciardi-scaled.jpg
Toronto Police Service (TPS) Constable Marco Ricciardi
In the face of an alarming rise in car thefts, Toronto Police Service (TPS) Constable Marco Ricciardi has offered a controversial tip to residents: leave car keys in the front door to avoid violent home invasions.

During a community safety meeting in Etobicoke, Constable Ricciardi addressed the issue, stating, “To prevent the possibility of being attacked in your home, leave your fobs at your front door because they’re breaking into your home to steal your car. They don’t want anything else.”

In short, don’t make it hard for thieves to steal your car. This is what an unarmed society looks like.

This suggestion has come as Toronto grapples with a car theft rate that sees a vehicle stolen every six minutes, a costly crime spree racking up nearly $1 billion annually, according to the Canadian Finance and Leasing Association (CFLA).

Toronto has witnessed a 400% surge in home invasions and break-ins for auto thefts, underscoring a troubling trend of increased violence and the use of firearms by criminals targeting vehicles, Global News reported.

Toronto Police Service released the following statement:

An officer at a recent community meeting suggested that people leave the keys to their vehicle in a faraday bag by the front door. While well meaning, there are also other ways to prevent auto theft motivated home invasions. For additional context, in Toronto, home invasions and break and enters for auto theft occurrences rose 400 percent in 2023. Police are concerned about an escalation in violence, where all sorts of weapons and firearms are being used to steal vehicles, and that includes during home invasions. While Toronto Police have always advised the public to prioritize your safety over your vehicle, here are ways members of the public can protect themselves, their homes and their vehicles:
  • Park vehicles in garage, if possible
  • Ensure your driveway is well lit and keep exterior lights on all night
  • Security cameras are an asset
  • If possible, install a home security system – activate alarm on STAY when home and AWAY when out
  • Consider having a motion detection alarm connected to your cell phone
  • Put security film on glass windows and doors
  • Have multipoint door locks on your doors
  • Keep backyard gates locked and ground windows secured
  • Do not post on social media when you will be away on holiday
  • Report suspicious vehicles/persons in the neighbourhood to police

The TPS’s advice to leave keys in a faraday bag by the front door, which can prevent the keys from being remotely accessed by thieves, has indeed sparked debate.

Former litigator, Viva Frei on X wrote, “Welcome to Justin Trudeau’s Canada. Where guns are illegal. Except criminals have them, and you don’t. And the police are imploring you to leave your keys at the front door so armed criminals can steal your cars, and hopefully spare your life. It’s been a while since I’ve said it, but FUCK YOU Justin Trudeau!”

YEAH, WE DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO LEAVE THE DONUT SHOP! IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!!

Firefight ongoing in Texas...

Fronton, Texas... right now.

Firefight going after shots fired at ICE.

The Cartels have supposedly put out a bounty on ICE agents... said they should be shot on sight.

So it's game on right now.

No ICE agents hurt yet (as of 24 minutes into the fight.)

We need Bill Jordan back... his ghost needs to rain lead on the fucking Cartels.

As far as I know these were a surplus from a run for the DOD. There was a thread on here about them a while back.

Delta 14 - AR15 take down pins?

Howdy boys and girls!

I was flipping through the December? issue of my American Rifleman magazine and saw Delta 14's AR take down pins, here: Delta 14 take down pins

Pin-Set.jpg

The concept behind the idea is very intriguing; Pinching the upper and lower receivers together to remove any battle rattle for better shot-shot precision. I'm looking for some Snipers Hide street intel from my fellow patriots that have them and to share your results.

Do they help tighten up your groups any? Is it a significant enough improvement to wait the 6-10 weeks for delivery? I have 2 ARs, one traditional Service rifle, the other, a Match rifle and.....Well, I love putting my shooting coat on, slinging up and see how well I score. Would these help?

Cheers! 😁 🤙

I hope you don't have to return anything to Grafs

I ordered several bushings, $27 each, realized a few of them were way off from what I need, so I went to return them. Here's what they make you do

Call or email
Get RMA from Darla
send it back, pay for shipping
Pay 10% restocking fee

Darla never called back as the answerer on #3 told me she would 10 days ago. So I sent two emails over the past week. No reply so today I called again. Darla comes on the phone, says she emailed me twice. Did it go to spam? I don't know, I don't have time to pore through multiple folders. One thing for sure, there was no "reply" to the email streams I sent to [email protected], forwarding my original invoice so that the order # was right there. gmail shouldn't relocate to spam a reply to an active email stream.

Are they trying to make it difficult on purpose? Yes, is my guess.

Some of these places need to get with the 2020s. This is why people just buy their shit on amazon whenever they can. Easy Peasy.

What is happening in AI scene

Did open source Chicom developed AI by no name company on 5.5mio $ learning budget just Nuke Open AI , not just that its preforming as good or better than Open Ai , its can run of your own devices.

''U.S. export controls on advanced semiconductors were intended to slow China's AI progress, but they may have inadvertently spurred innovation. Unable to rely solely on the latest hardware, companies like Hangzhou-based DeepSeek have been forced to find creative solutions to do more with less.
...
This month, DeepSeek released its R1 model, using advanced techniques such as pure reinforcement learning to create a model that's not only among the most formidable in the world, but is fully open source, making it available for anyone in the world to examine, modify, and build upon.
...
DeepSeek-R1’s performance is comparable to OpenAI's top reasoning models across a range of tasks, including mathematics, coding, and complex reasoning. For example, on the AIME 2024 mathematics benchmark, DeepSeek-R1 scored 79.8% compared to OpenAI-o1’s 79.2%. On the MATH-500 benchmark, DeepSeek-R1 achieved 97.3% versus o1’s 96.4%. In coding tasks, DeepSeek-R1 reached the 96.3rd percentile on Codeforces, while o1 reached the 96.6th percentile – although it’s important to note that benchmark results can be imperfect and should not be overinterpreted.

But what’s most remarkable is that DeepSeek was able to achieve this largely through innovation rather than relying on the latest computer chips.''

.223 Wylde OAL with Hornady 75 ELD-M

Just got a new barreled action from Keystone Accuracy in .223 Wylde, Origin action with a Rock Creek 7 twist cut rifled barrel. After 3 shots to zero with Federal GMM 69 SMK, the next 2 groups were .425 and .350. Looking good! Stopped there to do an initial cleaning.

Now on to develop a load for Hornady 75 ELD-M's. I have H4895 and Varget to try based on what I have seen on the site. When measuring OAL length for the 75 ELD-M with the Hornady tool, I get some interesting results. I feel some initial resistance at 2.385 OAL. Pushing a little harder, I get a definitive stop at 2.500 OAL, 1.940 to the Ogive.

I don't think I am jammed, as the bullet is not stuck in the lands and releases with the tool. The initial resistance at 2.385 seems short based on other's measurements that I have seen here. I think I should go with the 2.500, but I may back off something like .035 to start.

What do you guys think?
