For those not familiar with the term, the Queen's Gambit is a term for an opening move in Chess.

Its a Netflix original and one of the best series/shows Ive ever watched. The story set in the late 1970's of a young American woman who starts playing chess with the janitor of the orphanage shes in and rises to become the world champion, beating the best Russia had,

The female lead is really great, reminds me of one of the old starlets like Betty Davis or Grable.

Highly recommended especially if you play chess.

There was a thread on this a while ago. Yes it’s an excellent series. Lots of Hollywood in it. But because of it is true and it was quite good.
