We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!

I've been reading similar all over the internets......I just completed my first F1 paperwork (SBR, filed as individual) last night and I'll be mailing my fingerprint cards today on my lunch break.

One thing I haven't been able to find--are F1 suppressors being treated the same way as SBRs or are those still taking as long as F4s?
Called the ATF this morning - "pending' for whatever that's worth. Was told national average is 180 days. Told the ATF rep that 180 days was a far cry from 60-90 days and 211 days was an even further cry. They could care less. Pretty sure I'm on their radar now, if I wasn't before . . . . .

They know very well the average right now is around 240 days. They just don’t care.

Specific to Silencer Shop, it’s the final step in their online process and the day your Form 4 is actually submitted.
Not to silencer shop, but specific to eforms. They all have to be certified, regardless of dealer. The last step is when you go into the ffl and certify everything is correct and put in your username and pin. You'll get an email confirmation from the atf. That's the cerified date. @Redleg84

I think you can also certify everything remotely now, but you'll have to do like a screen share session with your ffl. Mine is local so I just go in person.

I did get that email, looks like it's on November 1st.

Completing it remotely wouldn't saved me a bunch of time but I still needed fingerprints done

I got my approval email from the eforms site on Monday with my stamp attached.

But it isnt showing approved in the silencershop portal, nor is it showing up in my eforms account when I log in

Did you pick up your can?

Seen someone already get approved from 3/19 eforms. Im 3/18 what the hell is going on? 😭

No, and the dealer is like 45 minutes from me so I dont want to go over there and find out that I can't get it because SS isn't updated or something. Tried calling, seems like their NFA guy is at lunch.
If the email was sent to you and the dealer, I can’t see them not giving you a can that’s been approved, regardless of whether their system has been updated to show it yet.

Silencer shop doesnt update anything after the certified date because they don't get notified. They're a mostly useless middle man. The atf is concerned with you and your ffl, so that's who they send the approval to. SS and ATF are not in contact about your cans.

SS will only update to approved if you tell them you've been approved. They only use that for their atf wait tracking site.

Your eforms dashboard won't have an approval because it never had anything. The ffl is doing the paperwork so it shows up on their eforms account, you'll never see anything on yours.

And this is the stupid part. If you have an eforms account the ATF and FFL have so many identifiers to you, your items and your account that that personal eforms account should be updated.

I have yet to meet a governmental organization that knows or can do any integration within departments, outside departments other government organizations or outside business. Business lives off the exchange of data, the government doesn’t. It’s kept in internal empires.

certified 3/17 approved 11/28. 246 days wait. YKM resonator2. control number 349936. waiting on YKM turbo2 certified on same phone call to atf.
monday this can was 36 control numbers away from being certified from the numbers i was seeing on the reddit megathread. i left yesterday on a hog and deer hunting trip and i had a suspicion one of them would be approved while i’m 4.5 hours from home. figures. at least the wait is over on this one but 🖕the atf anyway.

My best guess is that examiners are assigned x number of cans well in advance and some are faster than others, leading to situations like this.

People are posting control numbers with 6 digits, I see one on my form 4 that is 2022458109. Are people just dropping the year digits and going with the last 6 or am I looking in the wrong place?
If control numbers indicate ~ place in line so to speak then I am in line behind the approval of ignortbuttrainable's approval post above by about 108k supressors with my 04/28 cert only 42 days behind his 03/17 cert????

FYI my cert date is 04/28/2022 so ~ 209 days and counting... At this point am not expecting anything in 2022 on this. Lord only knows when my 09/19/2022 cert for can #2 will show up. I'd say 224 is looking about right...

they are still slowing down, not speeding up.

so this is what you will need to do to recalibrate your wait time. ignorantbuttrain was at 246 days. you are 42 days behind him on submittal date. add 1.5 days/day you are behind him and add that to his wait time. so that's 1.5 times 42 says, so add 63 days to the 246 and you have your revised expected wait time of 309.

So, 309 days which will also include the holidays (government work even less) so add a contingency in there of about 14 days and a good educated guess will be 323 days.

good luck to you and God bless.

I'm guessing that the control number are first four digits the year, any maybe the fifth digit is the month? I have two in April - one 4/11 which is 2022413506 and then on 4/27 which is 2022454754. If the month is not correct, its still just the last 6 digits that matter.

you are correct, that does correspond with the month. BUT.... that would mean from month to month you cant determine how far away you are, just wihtin your certain month, as the number would reset to (for May) 2022500000 and then start counting up again. if it only got to 2022525000, then june would start with 2022600000, not that there is still 75,0000 to do in May.

EDIT: forget all that nonsense, i have a June 23rd submission that is 589695

Yeah, month in the control number is not a thing. Anything after august would fuck up their system.

My Aprils are 2022390000 and June is 2022540000

as others have said the first four numbers are the year. one thing to keep in mind the control numbers are issued for every application for permit not just form4 efile. the control numbers are really the only matrix that we have to try and make a educated guess on wait times. but that is assuming the atf are processing in order, which they are not. there is a mega thread over on reddit where there is lots of info posted by people getting approvals. if you go back and look at the last few months one thing is apparent, the control numbers are all over the place. just like me, i had one of my two approved last friday and the other one has still not been processed. the majority of the ones being processed this week are 3/18 and beyond. i’ve been passed by on my second, for now anyway.

This thread is really depressing. June cert date for me. I should have known the 90 day thing was unrealistic.

I dont have anything to register. Ive got to imagine it will negatively effect all the wait times, by design of course. I have 3 more cans still in jail after finally getting to town to pick one up this morning. Im telling myself Im good until after that mess clears out in 2030.

So i would be looking at 12-18 month wait time if i purchased today/started process. (eform 4) hands down i would be looking at 2024

Based on current trends, yes probably. But we have no idea if things will change for better or worse, it’s all conjecture.
