Your PVA prefit experience

It is. The "clicker" issue seems to be more related to conic runout on the chamber from certain reamer holder practices. We have an original reamer and have not had an issue in those chambers nor did we have issues with 300 PRC reamers that have the same body on our reamer print as the 7-300. We couldn't replicate it in any of the chambers that we've cut to date but the one sample of "clicker" brass that I saw was blown out at the web like the Dasher brass that people had issues with in the past. The reamer change doesn't affect chambers out there that we made previously.

Rush option not available on sale items?
Correct, it's not. We are all hands on deck cutting the orders, the published goal is to keep the lead times at the same level they've been all year long (4-6wk). Some people will inevitably end up getting stuff sooner than that just based on production.

Taking rush fees during a sale means we have to bounce around in the order list and will overall push people back, I elected not to do it this year. Last year we offered it and a certain level of mayhem and hurt feelings occurred.

Understand. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something. I will be ordering my 3rd barrel from you.

Mostly they're M24
There are some 6.5 PRC's in Light Palma that were done as hunting barrels, we probably won't do them again as the few that are left sat for 6 months.
Sent a email last week never heard back. You guys ever think of doing a prefit for a Remington 783? Some guys say the savages will interchange but I don’t see anyone confirm it. Thanks

I thought the 783's were the same as a Ruger M77 pattern, not a Savage. I've not seen one to be sure. The people that have asked have been looking for an ER Shaw kind of price tag.

Uses a barrel nut. Same threads as a small shank savage. Different bolt face relief supposedly. Well Any custom barrel isn’t cheap…

My second PVA prefit shipped today headed to Me !

The first was a remmage 7 twist 26inch 6creedmoor . I guess it was a button rock ?? It shot good enough.. Throat was loooooooong but I knew about their long throat for that chambering before ordering.

The new one is a shouldered Osprey for Defiance / 7 twist 20inch 6creedmoor w/ their " short throat " option. got a few boxes o DTAC and a jug o N160 awaiting its arrival...

I guess its fair to say the first one shot good enough that I ordered a second..

Update 12/5/2022 Barrel came today. Headspace is just about on the money. Throat length is workable. Married to Defiance tenacity without drama!
Hickup .... I was unaware of how their contours work :: example . I order an MTU for 26" finish or 20" finish its gonna be the same final diameter at either finish length.. I assumed it was done like so many others where the straight taper MTU is cut to order length / so regardless of finish length the taper is the same .. This one looks a lil off in the Mcmillan it went in that was inletted for another barrel companies MTU.. This barrel has a much more rapid taper.. Its all on me as I assumed and didnt verify but I sent them a note asking that they add this info to their contour chart for folks like me ( evidently Im a lil slow )
Will update when I start shooting it!

Started shooting it yesterday on 108berger bt. ran it up to 2930 but accuracy initially is at bout 2845.
Group averages across 45 rounds were high .2 low .3 random cleaning a few times / copper tapered off after bout 30ish rounds
Gonna run bout 150 of these through it then start development on 115dtac & N160.
I think its gonna be just fine!

Update 12/7/22 afternoon report
This morning switched to N160 from 4350..
Found a node quickly at 2885 w/ 108berger BT. this powder seems a wee tighter shooting for the now .
Stuff burns clean to! And the recoil even seems slower ( if that even makes since )

I know I know .. its gonna speed up and such .

Anyone have a 22creed PVA prefit?

Looking for info in regards to the neck diameter it’s reamed to. Wondering if I’m going to have any issues using alpha brass at approximately .252 loaded diameter.

My chamber indicated to be about .258 neck diameter based on fired brass. alpha should work fine

Mind sharing what bullet you’re shooting an overall experience with the 100fb chamber?
Pretty sure mine was the old .062 reamer.
I used 85 rdfs at 3400 in alpha brass with rl26 and they were amazing for the first 900 something shots.

Got notice today, my Black Friday barrel shipped out, 2 weeks before the end of the quoted timeframe. Can't wait to shoot it.

@bohem would you be willing to rechamber any of you’re RC ready to go prefits (.223 to .223AI)?
Not without a rechamber fee, which will cost you more than just buying the custom barrel from the start. The reason the RTS barrels are less expensive is the work statement volume. Custom mods completely nullify the point of having them Ready To Ship.

Alpha works fine in it. Our 22 Creed is a little bigger in the neck than some might think is necessary. This is not an accident or mistake, there are deliberate reasons why the reamer is setup as it is. The results are excellent.

Got My 7mm prc prefit for my Arc Nucleus gen 2 the other day and shot it with great results from factory ammo. PVA does great work and love his shoulder prefit barrels.

Still nothing but pleased with my 308 PVA. Consistently hitting .5 MOA, even snuck a .322 MOA at 200 yards with factory Federal gold medal.

14 plus shot group with my 7mm prc prefit. Most with supressor and a few with a brake. 180 eldm factory ammo. Testing handloads soon. Those are pretty much the first shots besides getting on paper and zeroing in.

Product Updates:

We have added the Barrett MRAD to our prefit list. The pricing does not include the barrel extension kit from Barrett. We are working on sourcing shelved stock for that kit for customers who might want a complete additional barrel instead of just a replacement.

We also have carbon wrapped blanks available for the MRAD.

We have added 1:7tw 6.5mm blanks to the repetoire available with Osprey Blanks and Prefits. When choosing a blank or a prefit you can now choose a 7.5 or 7 twist 6.5mm

We are adding new calibers to the Plug cleaning accessory. The 223 Remington, Dasher, BR-Ackley, 30-06 family, 532 Belted Mags, Lapua Mag and Norma Mag families and all 3 versions of the PRC body cartridges are all in production currently.

All the Coup de Grace group buy barrels have been contoured and cut to length. We are just waiting on the final tenon print to get them moving out the doors.

Appreciate the quick shipping once again. Little over 5 weeks from time of order.

16.5” 22 creed. I see more of these barrels in my future.

I thought about doing the Nosler family... I just finished up another batch of Creed, 308, GT and the machine is running Dasher as I type. The 3 PRC family cases are next, then the SAUMs.
Are you seeing more GT or Dasher these days? Are 22s picking up steam vs. their 6mm counterparts?

Thinking about ordering a pva 6mm creed prefit for origin action. Planned to shoot 103eldx-108eldm must of the time and would like to maybe drop down to 90or 95s for hunting groundhogs in the summer. Guessing the 7twist ospreys that' are available will probably be too fast even with barrel length at 20-22inches suppressed for the 90-95s? Maybe even for the 103-108s?
@bohem any knowledge or guidance on the 7twist? or any 7.5 or 8twist coming in the near future?

7 twist is fine with the 103-108s. I shoot 108s in mine without issue. I doubt you will have an issue with the 90-95grn although I don’t shoot them.

Thank you. Guessing i should go with the "pva standard" vs the "short throat chamber" if i going to run the 103/108gr
