May have been @akmike47 and someone else going back and forth on safety’s and 1911’s but could be wrong? There’s a pretty prolific poster here somewhere that brags about having a 1911 style safety installed on his striker fired pistol (maybe Glock, can’t remember, don’t care enough to search).
For my money, I shoot a 2011 in USPSA (not fast, but I’m there) and have a CZ nocturne (decocker) for carry.
I just follow 50 cent when it comes to safeties.
And QuikClot is for Sig 320 owners!Safeties are for long guns.
@Oneshot is good people and he runs a business. So just be real and you’re okay. You gotta judge for yourself.![]()

Obviously you have not been counting how many people have shot themselves with Grocks.
Let's start with a classic.
Besides this one, there are also a few videos out there of Grocks "firing themselves".

Everyone knows he pulled the trigger, only retards holding them claim “it just went it”
No argument there. Glocks don't have the hands-free feature, though.
3 arteries severed after gun ‘spontaneously discharges’ on Winnipeg police officer
An officer applied a tourniquet to his own leg after his holstered gun spontaneously discharged
The gun that discharged was a Glock Model 35
Many NDs are holstering and unholstering. Yes, not an issue for most of us. It just is for genpop, and the careless. Manual safeties prevent glockleg. Unless someone is comfortable and knows what they’re doing it’s better to have one than not. Those of us who grew up with them they’re no big deal. If you grew up with only plastic fantastic striker pistols I can see why you would think them unnecessary, but for most people they can prevent NDs, and that’s all there is to it.???
Safeties are for gays and single actions. It’s a training issue, safeties only help the retarded. A safety is a crutch for a lot of dumb people obviously accidents(negligence) can happen with any firearm but if I can’t train you not to touch the trigger, then I can’t train you to put the safety on reliably. No amount of safeties is going to stop an ND if you don’t use them properly and repeatedly. If you don’t put your booger hook(or anything else) near the bang switch it won’t fire…unless it’s a 320.
The best safety is a good holster, and I repeat a GOOD holster. If you can’t touch the trigger it won’t go off unless it’s a 320

Sometimes memes are true
Obviously use common sense and train with the safety on equipped firearms.
No one said anything about being gun fighters, it’s basic firearms safety. Too stupid to remember not to touch the trigger, but they are magically smart enough to remember the safety. Many NDs are holstering and unholstering. Yes, not an issue for most of us. Mas Ayoob teaches people to shoot through panic rather than learning to fight panic, remain calm, and breathe. Why, because it’s not a six week combat course. For the love of God!

He teaches a seminar and done, and that’s the most effective way to teach self defense with a pistol in a single seminar to people who aren’t going to train and practice. Shit, some people who have work guns barely practice.
They don’t need to learn to be gunfighters. They need to learn the basics and to shoot through panic, because guess what? They’re gona panic.

He never touched my pp on here obviously, but if we met in person and he didn’t try I’d be upset.Mikey Oneshot is the first Hide person I ever met.
And yeah, he's a great guy.

“Congratulation’s, ma’am”For people here that carry an Sig P320 AIWB do y’all unholster the pistol inside a vehicle?
Reason I ask is if Sig and others believe the UD is caused by a poor fitting holster causing pressure etc, what would happen if you are driving and get in an accident with a hard impact that tightens the seat belt causing pressure on the 320 in your appendix area?
I’m sure that impact and sudden tightening of the seat belt could be enough pressure to cause an issue but who knows for certain?
Well it would be no PP for you then.“Congratulation’s, ma’am”
Well it didn’t shoot you in the buttholeWell it would be no PP for you then.

And don’t squeeze the Charmin as Mr. Whipple would say.
So years ago I am out at Sea, Beretta 92 days, CG comes rolling up in their RIB, boards, ask me if I have arms onboard, affirmative, condition one Colt in a jackass holster in the sea bag, they want it, I say take the whole bag, oh no, we want the gun, so they remove it, all the while some pimple faced boy has a M16 trained on me, they do their inspection, I pass, hands my Colt back, holster hammer safety unsnapped, thumb safety off, live one still in the chamber - WTH. Like your Government Model. I have three striker fired without thumb safeties, SAXD service, SAXD9sc and M&P 9 mod 1.0 service. I like the quote from Quigley " said I did not have any use for one but did not say I did not I did not know how to use it." Jeff Cooper would be proud, wonder what he would say about plastic and half-cock for most strikers and full-cock on the Sigs, I hope Sig is forced to P365 their P320.This is my favorite "holster" and I carry it bubba style under an untucked shirt.
My adrenaline spikes a little almost every time I holster my gun in it.

He pulled the trigger…Correct, I didn't say he didn't pull the trigger.
I have not seen sufficient evidence that the people who have been injured by Sigs didn't pull the trigger with a shirttail or craptastic holster.
There are videos of Grocks that allegedly fired without pulling the trigger. I posted one a couple times already.
besides a S&W revolver
There's another video out there somewhere from several years ago of a guy beating the hell out of several guns with a hammer and IIRC the P320 was the only one that fired when beat with a hammer but it didn't fire on every hammer blow.

So have you read my book? Watched my movie? Listened to my podcast? Bought my energy drinks or gummy bears? Or subscribed to my YouTube channel? Oh yeah, you don’t know anything about me. Keep presuming and keep being wrong. Your reading comprehension is not exactly stellar. I never said competitors like a manual safety, but keep on projecting and you are still wrong. I was responding to a guy that said he competes with a pistol that has a safety. My reply was that he obviously knows what he’s doing.Clearly you are not just an expert, but an advanced combat firearms instructor/IDPA champion who trains the tip of the spear when you’re not caressing your Glock behind the counter and dreaming of shooting people.
Most people don’t shoot pistols as a hobby. Most don’t have a sidearm for work. You are in a tiny category of people if you do or compete. It’s a very small community.
I don’t really disagree with you, and both my edc’s have no manual safety. My BBQ pistols do, and they are not “more dangerous”, nor am I unarmed when open carry their engravy ivorynesss in tooled leather holsters…
However, you have:

You are such a deuschbag that I think I’ll keep telling everyone how awesome you are till I get board. Of course, you’re already backpedaling which shortens my already short attention span. I thought only Fudds liked a manual safety? Now there are actual gun people who shoot competitively who like them? I’m starting to be confused, but I am listening to the master, and I want to learn. The problem is clearly me and not you, because how could it be you? It just couldn’t! Not possible.
I bet your movie is called “Cummy Bears”, it’s a cumming of age story. So have you read my book? Watched my movie? Listened to my podcast? Bought my energy drinks or gummy bears?
