The news keeps having people on saying this was a professional. I think 99% of the shooters on this forum could easily make a shot at that distance in the center of a pie tin, and a day at a range after watching some Youtube most new shooters could as well. No professional is going to dress in all black, with a blue skyline behind them and run to the edge of a building in full view like that. If it was a presidential detail (the proper detail, nothing like Butler) they would have been dead instantly.
I was disappointed to hear the FBI Director say we have the subject, and to reverse that later. Could this disrupt the investigation to capture the assassin? Did resources shift gears when they heard this giving the shooter more time?
They will catch this person and we better get a full investigation with public disclosure on who they are.

I firmly believe you are correct on the shot placement. It was a shot to the voice box of a man they feared because they couldn’t beat him verbally-so they silenced him eternally.

If he shot from where people are saying it is more like 140yd and from 45' elevation at 140yds it would be just over 6* down. I don't think elevation had anything to do with POI...or VERY little.

I couldn’t tell from the videos if it was suppressed or not. Sounded like down range of any CF rifle. Tried listening for the boom but audio wasn’t great and it was chaotic. At 140 yards there would have been little time delta between the bullet crack and the boom down range. Hard to say.

Haha not really...I just find it hard to believe someone could get a long gun within a few hundred yards of an on campus event and not a single camera would catch them. They would need a somewhat stable shooting position to pull this shot off....it's not like it was a walk by with a handgun
