It's interesting to see how quickly many people's mind set have changed vs less than a week ago. Many seem to have got a wake-up call about what a few have been saying for years upon years, but were always called crazy, senile, inciting, disruptive ect.
This country is about to reap the seeds it first sowed, but allowed weeds too furious to the point of taking total control and killing off the crop. It will not be as simple as taking to the streets while dancing & prancing, thinking that will change anything. It will require total removal of the cancer, hence it will reappear and learn from its latest mistake.
May God guide those, who are about to open and walk through a door that has but one path that will allow,... Them,... to write history books.

That’s my thought. Hunting out west, at 200 yards a 30-06 bullet does a massive amount of damage. I tried not to watch any video of the moment Charlie dying. I didn’t need to see it. But I accidentally ran into a GIF. As I was researching. I guarantee that was not 30-06 round.

Probably the wrong place and time to bring this up but this shatters the whole purpose of the SBR regulation and shows how pointless it is. If some kid can conceal a full length deer rifle down his pants and walk into a campus and through a school building undetected. PS. Just one thing to add as the caffeine kicks into high gear... the cross section of a decent white-tail and a person (taking into account that one is typically shot from the side, one from the front)... is not that different. I have NEVER had a bullet stop in a deer. Especially close up they zip in and out and the exit is generally little bigger than the entrance. The only two animals I have ever recovered bullets from... Musx Ox and Bison. Both shot with a very powerful .416 Taylor and both at 200 - 300 yards. Both cases, the boolits (Barnes soft points) had time to expand and in both bullets I recovered the bullets from under the skin on the far side were fully expanded and lost barely any weight. But those are huge dense animals! With very thick skins and fur. And the bullet has a big cross-section, so is prone to slow down faster. Even soft points or hollow points need time to expand... but not much. About 1.5" into the target it is fully expanded. A FMJ will zip through like a knitting needle, but leave a big channel nontheless. That said, at 100 yards, a .30-06 bullet is moving about 2700 FPS (150 gr federal ballistics table). It has lost 300 FPS from muzzle. While will expand almost immediately and create a wound channel, it will also exit with a massive amount of energy that is basically wasted. (and if anyone is behind the target individual they are at severe risk.) So the on paper energy is nowhere near what it seems in practice... unless all the energy is transferred to the target. And that only happens when the bullet stops in the target. Terminal ballistics is always an interesting field of study...

I've killed hundreds of deer with a .30-06 using cheap, shit Corlokts, and the entry wound is always .3". Yes, it kills them DRT, but the damage is out the back, not at the entry wound.

Exactly and remember that a bullet needs resistance to expand. A neck hit is not going to expand that bullet as the neck area is pretty soft and not much there until the bullet exits. What hit charlie was a rifle caliber. Even a hunting bullet is going to pencil hole through the side of a human neck. I'm not understanding the effort in chasing theories about other guns being used.

Seriously though. I grew up in that time period, was in close proximity to much of the 'hippie' movement. I never heard anyone, other than twits like Abbiegail Hoffman and some of his cohorts babble about socialism. I know one guy who was part of the Ithaca Seven, a wanna be copycat of the Chicago Seven, who wanted to go to Canada because of how evil America was. He never went.
Most of the movement boiled downt ot Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll. There wasnt enough time or brain cells to get involved in Socialism. No doubt is was pushed from some of the hierarchy, but it rarely filtered down. THere was a lot of protest over Viet Nam, but that had nothing to do with socialism, just getting us out of a fubar. I was ashamed how the boys were treated when they came home, that was inexcusable, but again, small scale. There are scumbags in every group, including conservatives. I think most 'hippies' were upset with what they saw coming, the MIC, and in that they were not wrong, look around today.

Caveats: I know that 30.06 and 77gr smks have different flight paths, I know he was shooting from a downward angle which can cause low hits, etc 10 other things I haven't thought of.
When I first saw it happen I was sure it was a single rifle shot - what I didn't initially understand was why someone would aim for the neck (thinnest / smallest target). I also guessed the round was a 308 (it wasn't, but close enough). A human head is about 8" tall on average, if someone aimed right between the eyes (body armor, no formal training) I loaded up my Hornady app and 4doff and I figured that a regular 762 drops about 5" at 200 yards.
So my initial guess was that the shooter aimed at his head (or his mouth) and didn't account for bullet drop and the round impacted in the clavicle (about 5" low) and the spall from the armor hit (likely some kind of steel plate with no kevlar backing or rhino liner / spall control) his carotid artery.
So I setup a man shaped target at 200 yards, with a 20" barrel and 77gr OTMs, zero'd for 100 yards and aimed right at the center of the head.
The impacts were almost exactly where you see in the video:
Dont mind the follow up shots at the two small targets, those (poor) shots were me later trying to actually figure out my 200 yard hold over.
The vast majority of shots group up perfectly in the (shooters) right clavicle - right where the initial impact appear to be. Rounds impacting shaped body armor right there with no spall control could absolutely result in spall impacting the carotid artery - which is what I saw on the close up video.
Note: I mourn the death of Charlie Kirk, I hate that politics has gotten to this point. I think the us vs them mentality is the strongest best attack anyone has ever used against America and the only way we could be defeated or marginalized is by our own internal strife.
I didn't do this (admittedly poorly conducted) experiment out of sick fascination - I just wanted to understand what happened and verify the facts for myself.
I now believe that almost anyone with moderate firearms experience on a flat range and a little luck could have made this shot. There is nothing special about zero'ing for 100 yards, putting the crosshairs on someone's face, and squeezing the trigger. The idea that this shot required some kind of pro is laughable in hindsight.
The infil/successful exfil is what made me think this was the work of a zealot and not a crazy - and the fact we only got him so fast because his dad turned him in supports this.
Also, trying to blame Israel / the Mossad / Jews for this one is pretty thin and beneath most of you.
Charlie was a friend to us.

Don't trust anything in those 'Amazon books'. I got suckered into buying a couple for a research project (before the AI garbage rush). They were nothing but amalgamations of news stories, posts from forums, older newsarticles (who are they, what is 'politics' etc. I could create one in a few hours by clipping and pasting articles, putting a cover on it and throwing it on Amazon. If I had no scruples whatsoever. Which is what these folks are doing.
As for the date... What side of the date line were they on? Or are the computers simply holding a number off? Can the "author" enter their own publication date so as to be listed 'first' in the search results? There are a million reasons why these garbage books may have a publication date that is 'off.' And none of them relate to a group of conspirators sitting around and saying "We'll put out a book the day before our mission."

PS. One of the books I was suckered into buying was the 'Memoir of General Kuribiashi' who was the Japanese general charged with defending Iwo Jima. Now I knew he had died on Iwo Jima. But for some reason, that didn't kick in and the description seemed good. Who knows, maybe he had left behind a diary or something. And I wanted insight into his defense posture. So I ordered it for something like $24. And it turned out to be one of a series of books from some POS whack job Japanese "Psychic" who was apparantly 'communicating with people after death' and writing their memoirs for them. (Probably now taking money from stupid women to find their beagles.). The book was total garbage and within a few pages I was going "WTF???" . But then I went back and read the "Forward" to the book where the author says he is a %$#@ing medium and communing with historical figures from the beyond and that his books are legitimate memoirs because they 'Told him'... probably through a Ouija board or through patters of chicken bones. I don't get frauded easily... but this one got me. So beware the crap on Amazon!
It's definitely possible, he aimed a little higher, 30.06 has a flatter flight path than 223, and the bullet drop just made the round hit the neck instead of the face or chest.
But I've seen videos showing something behind his shirt and it would make sense for him to have some kind of body armor / stab vest as they were accounting for threats from a local / close range attacker.
It's too bad they didn't have someone glassing roof tops.
