I haven’t taken the time to chronic yet. Waiting on a scope and shooting matches with old rifle. Ammo using in V22 is Eley Match out of the 5 machine rated @1061 FPS. Shot 5 into .687 @100 the other day with 4 1/2-14 Leupold.
Jesse Kauffman, a guild level engraver, is a good close friend and also here in town. A few years back he unceramoniously dropped off a big ol slab of English walnut. Something he at one point was going to use for a table. I've had it collecting dust in a storage unit. Thinking this will be my cadaver for body parts...
Anyone measured a reduction in ES/SD numbers with the longer barrels? I don't have enough data to prove it, but I've noticed a trend that my longer rimfire barrels tend towards being more consistent.
Yes, years ago I set chrono at 50 yds to checkout this. And yes my findings showed with 20”-24” barrels had better readings then shorter.
I don't know. Wood is organic. Is there enough wood present here to make an influence? Maybe. Like I said, I don't know.

I’ll have a 22” vudoo here next week. I’ll run 50 rounds of the same sk standard plus in the 22” and 18”. It won’t be a huge sample size, but it’s something.

Wow that’s WAY better then I can get my Vudoo to shoot with ANY ammo. I’m lucky to hold under 1 inch at 100.
Trust me, in fairness to Vudoo, few of my groups resemble that one. Usually I'm at fault as I'm new to the precision game and our range very seldom has neutral wind conditions. The competitive benchrest shooters call it the Bermuda Triangle of ranges in their league. Besides the swirling wind conditions there is a creek that crosses the range 60yds from the benches.
The rifle is certainly capable of delivering when the stars align. I'm guessing the low one was the round as the pull felt very good. More often than not it's me negatively influencing the rifle due to lack of knowledge and experience.
Rimfire will drive you crazy if you're trying to shoot bug holes all the time.
Grid is .5" spacing. I started with a thoroughly cleaned bore and shot about 120 rounds today using three different brands of ammo, changing trigger shoe positions, experimenting with pressure/contact points on the rifle, and zoom ranges on the optic. There was also heavy mirage at times.
For the most part, based on approximately 2K rounds with CCI SV, SK Std+, and 4 "top-shelf" rounds my rifle holds pretty close to 1-1.25 MOA in relatively neutral wind conditions.
Rimfire is so finicky, with so many variables, that it's very difficult to determine what is effecting accuracy for a given shot or group. More often than not I'd have to point blame at myself for a blown group..... or was it the variables in the ammo or environmental conditions that rimfire is so sensitive to?
Get off paper and onto some small steel at distance. Get into an NRL22 match and have some fun. Put these sweet rifles to work. Run'em hard and amaze your family and friends. My wife was banging steel with her's from 50y to 400y over the past week. She was giddy like a teenager.
I know, I've shot 300yd steel and it's much more rewarding than paper. Problem is the two local ranges only have one target, one at 264 and the other at 296. Yawn.
The OCD side of me loves and hates paper.
I built out one of our range to have 1, 2, 3 and 4 Moa targets every 25 yards from 25 to 200 yards. Also a few larger targets at every distance to use for positional shooting. Paper from 25 to 100y also. Soon to be putting in a few spinners for a little timing practice. Another 2 ranges there have steel out to 400y. It is a target rich environment.
I built this for breaking the monotony of paper punching. Just have to haul it to the range every time I want to use it.
Our range has a very old school paper mentality, while the facilities are very nice as outdoor ranges go the target sets are all based around paper. I need to get creatively involved and inspire the people driving the ship to do a steel course like you mention. Your MOA set would be a great addition.

While you might not have as much steel you definitely have a bunch more green. I tried to build our ranges where the shooters could actually do some work with their rifles. I have our long distance range setup the same way. This way the shooter knows what they are doing without needing to pull out a tape measure.
My V-22 action arrived today. Got it all set up, it looks to be a good match to Bergara. Looking forward to shooting this weekend!
So to clarify I wasn’t saying my Vudoo wasn’t capable of shooting tiny groups at 100. I just haven’t been able to do it yet.
I am also using mid price ammo as well. I haven’t got into RWS-50 or Lapua yet. Nothing but SK, Norma, and CCI for me.

So far my Vudoo is hanging within 5-8 points in a 1000 of this new 54.30 action in a '83 chassis at 100yds and the Stiller actioned Benchmark barreled custom Jay shoots at 200yds in our local matches.
(All in good fun and support of Vudoo's achievements in such a short timeframe)
Of course Jay is shooting Lapua X-Act and R50 off a rest against my high dollar mag fed CCI SV off a bipod.
I've only shot two matches against these seasoned veterans and have learned so much as they are all willing to share their knowledge. The competitors are salt of the earth type guys and I could honestly care less about winning though it's also a goal that seriously motivates me to improve my skills and market the accuracy potential of the Vudoo without all the traditional benchrest crutches.
Sunday mornings are just a great time with this group of seasoned rimfire vets.
All said and done - Rimfire is very competitive yet so much goodnatured enjoyable fun!

St. George has some beautiful natural scenery. I may even be able to talk Jay from SpeedTech across the street from Vudoo to take you out sightseeing in his Polaris RZR. The shooting table looks like good old fashioned hot rodding to me.

Holy bat balls batman, that's a 41 hour drive for me. This would take some planning as I sure won't be driving that distance. Airline tickets, hotel reservations, car rental, getting my rifle and ammo out there. The rifle is the big deal, I'd have to lug it around everywhere I went or leave it unattended. Unfortunately it won't fit in my pocket. There are a few options to consider and the only reason I have even replied (after finding out it's a 41 hour drive) is that someone may have done something like this before and how did they make it happen?
FINALLY got my ETR for my Vudoo and put it together. Federal Match is right at 3/4 MOA out of a brand new barrel. Looking forward to trying other brands shortly, but MAN this thing is awesome! Been wearing out my 100yd KYL rack this afternoon (thanks @sturkis ), it doesn't get better than this! Thanks to all at Vudoo!

I really like that ETR. The reticle is perfect, everything I wanted in a reticle. Glass quality is a step up from my Bushnell DMR2, as are the knob clicks. Focus knob is maybe a touch finicky, but not a nuisance. Zero stop is intuitive. Really it's easier to compare to my RZR Gen2, it's that nice. But I'm no glass snob, i choose a reticle and as long as it tracks and I can see decently thru it, I'll use it!

I've always heard that English walnut is a superior wood for stock making, a fact that - along with its appeal to me for its beauty - might make it a superior wood for your bedding process. These projects all three used English walnut, and all three were finished in Doan Trevor's shop. I wish someone would make a gift out of a big ol' slab of English to me - but then, I know darned well there are at least a couple of guys out there who would make far better use of it than I could...

Finally broke down and bought myself a Vudoo Rifle and Vudu scope, local gun store had two of these for a couple of months, and worked with me on all the parts. Now if it would only stop raining long enough so I could go out and shoot.

Have seen several V-22 owners using TriggerTech Diamond triggers - wondering if any of you Diamond owners also have experience with Jewell HVRs. If so, would like to hear your opinions of how the two compare.
This is the trigger I would want in my Vudoo.
I am using the 2 Stage Timney Calvin Elite set for 8 ounces at each stage and find it wonderful! For the Precision Tactical and informal BR I shoot the 2 stage trigger is ideal. I have Jewel BR triggers on my BR center and rim fire guns, but not for offhand or prone with a bipod and no rear bag.
I like the single stage Calvin elite in my Vudoo. I like single stage better for precision tactical matches. Either will work and up to end user.
Reason I posted the question on comparing the Diamond & Jewell is because I've got Jewells on all but one of my CF comp rifles, and on all three of my 22RF 40X/XB & V-22 repeaters. Customer asked for a Diamond on his V-22 bbl'd action, so I ordered in a couple. Thinking of using the 2nd Diamond on my new V-22 bbl'd action when it gets here - otherwise, will go with another Jewell.
I had one of those Jewell BR models on a Stolle Panda LV BR rig years ago - a 2oz trigger takes some getting used to, and I'd never consider using one on a 22RF repeater that's going to be shot in anything but benchrest.
