COVID quarantine, implications on numbers

This is untrue. Not sure where you get that bogus info.
mRNA vaccines induce the release of neutralizing antibodies, CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. There’s a ton of studies on this. Some even show cytokines like interferon gamma.
maybe (hopefully), in response to the presence of the spike protein the mRNA causes your body to produce.
this is again, not at all how most vaccines work.

This is what we should have done from the beginning:

90% Herd immunity

I don't take any medical advise from the hide, especially people claiming to be experts because they have all lied from the start.

Latest lie
Don't mix vaccines
Oh wait
Mix vaccines

Just another example of they don't know a fucking thing but feel the need to advise you.

Kind of like some on here isn't it.

"And I don't listen to them cause my head is like sieve ".

Sheeple

If masks are so great why has the government not created a program to hand out N95 masks nationwide? Masks that actually do something, not the tissue paper ones that don't even do a good job keeping sawdust off your face.
It's not about science, masks outside of a clinical setting are a joke.

Says the guy who thinks masks and vaccines don't work :ROFLMAO:

The covid-19 vaccine does not work. We understand you are a Federal agent so your IQ is dismally low, but we understand how a vaccine works.

A vaccine against smallpox, chicken pox, measles, mumps or shingles literally prevents you from getting the disease. The covid-19 vaccine prevents nothing, literally you can still get sick after three or four doses of it. You literally become a carrier of disease and can make others sick. At least 12,300 people have been killed by the covid-19 vaccine according to the CDC. More deaths than all other vaccines combined in the last decade. 1200 people under 30 years old who literally had a 99.9999% survival rate if they caught the covid, now have permanent heart damage and will die decades sooner than they would have had they refused the vaccine. All of these dead or maimed have no legal recourse because the federal government granted immunity to the pharma companies.

Smallpox vaccine for instance would have killed about 338 Americans if we gave it to 338,000,000 people. Meanwhile covid-19 shots have killed 12,300. Why is this acceptable?

We understand you have Biden's crank stuffed so far up your pooper it is hard to think or reason. But try and think for yourself sometime.

I have it on very good medical authority, which has absolutely nothing to lose or gain by telling me how mRNA works nor gives a shit whether I'm vaccinated or not, that you don't understand how this works.

Needless to say, this is the last place on earth I'll get medical advice from.

good choice. i don't give advice.

The mRNA vaccines do not contain any live or attenuated virus. Instead, they work by teaching our cells to make a harmless piece of a “spike protein,” which is found on the surface of the virus that causes COVID-19. After making the protein piece, cells display it on their surface.

vaccines work, but these are not vaccines.
a real vaccine causes your body to make antibodies that target a specific virus or viruses.
mRNA does no such thing, and instead it fools your body into creating a component of the virus itself.
completely different, but i don't expect a fucking retard to understand that.

Ive never met an expert in any field....please point us to the experts! There are people with more knowledge than some, but no real experts.

Ive known some nurses with better understanding of medicine than some doctors. It just a piece of paper in the end.

Both vaccinated and unvaccinated people catch and spread Covid. To say otherwise is false and disingenuous. Period, end of discussion...

That is true. And no one is saying otherwise. But to say it's the end of the discussion is disingenuous at best.

Absolutely false. Vaccinated people do not catch and spread COVID just like the "unvaxed."

What the hell? So you first say that vaxxed don't catch it and spread it like unvaxxed. Then get called out and agree. Maybe change your name to flip flop guy.

I used that line when I was younger in a night club, girl ask me what I did and I told her I was a DEA Agent. She then asked me if I could get her drugs.........
I told a girl I was in the USAF once and she assumed I was a pilot, and asked me if I could take her up. I told her I did a lot of barrel rolls and didn't want to clean puke from the cockpit.... She weren't pretty

Every number you see is glorified bovine excrement. If you start with tainted numbers your are not getting valid conclusions. Geeks call this GIGO. Garbage in, garbage out.
  • Case count is inflated due to test protocols. Research how PCR works and how cycle count influences the result. There are scores of labs that have 90-100% positives from drive-in test sites. That is incompatible with the biological reality of host-pathogen interactions.

  • Death count is massively inflated due to lumping everyone who died from other stuff while testing positive (according to what?) together with those who actually died causally from covid. My hometown in Germany lists these two categories separately. We had 204 real covid deaths for ~520,000 inhabitants from March 2020 to March 2021. That's a 0.04% mortality rate. The regular flu of 2018 killed more people in the same town.

  • Vax-induced complications and deaths are undercounted because you are not considered vaccinated until several days after the first shot or after the second one, depending on the vax. If you get a "rare condition" or croak before, you are considered un-vaccinated. There is also a severe under-reporting bias even if your new condition or sudden expiration is classified correctly.
Garbage in, garbage out on all fronts.

However, it is safe to conclude at this point that the heavy-handed lock downs have caused more medical and economic harm than good. The jury is still out on the vaccines. I expect that the positive effects, i.e. reducing disease fatalities and costs, will be small or nil. I would not be surprised if the 'cure' turns out to be worse than the disease. It would not be the first time that happens.
Absolutely, agree...

I tend to trust my counties numbers to an extent since I can directly observe. If inclined, you can also call the county coroner's office and get public death stats etc...they seem happy to answer questions, probably don't get phoned much.

In Colorado people who have had one of the shots, are no longer asked to quarantine when exposed to someone who tests positive for COVID. This despite knowing that vaccinated people both catch and spread COVID just like the "unvaxed."

Except that's not true, or even close, unless you're innumerate. Vaccinated people are far less likely to be infected in the first place. "Just like" actually logically means "the same." And yet these things are not the same, and the curve is flat, because people are vaccinated.

This is the problem with talking about probabilistic arguments in plain English. The nuance is lost. But nuance is what probability is all about.

"Our vaccines are working exceptionally well," she said. "They continue to work well with delta with regard to severe illness and death, but what they can't do anymore is prevent transmission."

"So, if you are going home to somebody who has not been vaccinated to somebody who can't get vaccinated, somebody who is immunosuppressed or a little frail, somebody with comorbidities, I would suggest you wear a mask in public indoor settings."

Quote CDC director Rochelle Walensky

At the country-level, there appears to be no discernable rela- tionship between percentage of population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases in the last 7 days (Fig. 1). In fact, the trend line suggests a marginally positive association such that countries with higher percentage of population fully vaccinated have higher COVID-19 cases per 1 million peo- ple. Notably, Israel with over 60% of their population fully vaccinated had the highest COVID-19 cases per 1 million people in the last 7 days. The lack of a meaningful asso- ciation between percentage population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases is further exempli ed, for instance, by comparison of Iceland and Portugal. Both countries have over 75% of their population fully vaccinated and have more COVID-19 cases per 1 million people than countries such as Vietnam and South Africa that have around 10% of their population fully vaccinated.

Please refer back to the original post to help you understand these numbers.

The CDC does not consider fully vaccinated people to be 'close contacts', and has not for months now.

The more people are vaccinated, the higher the percentage of confirmed positives will be vaccinated.

IMO cases are a bullshit metric that today are only used for sensationalism and fear. The metrics that really actually matter are hospitalization and death, and statistics from across the country are clear that unvaccinated people have a MUCH greater incidence of both. Of course that doesn't mean vaccinated people can't have severe breakthrough infections leading to hospitalization or death, but the incidence of severe breakthroughs is MUCH lower than incidence of severe unvaccinated infection, and severe breakthroughs occur in predominately elderly individuals.

Until the protection from the vaccine wears off, which it does, based on data from Israel and the UK.

There's no clinical trials or data to confirm that additional doses of the vaccines are safe or effective, so boosters is not really a feasible strategy either.

The vaccinate everyone strategy is a very shortsighted strategy and destined for failure. Depending on demographics and individual factors, the benefits and risks from these vaccines seem to be pretty different.

At this point, suggesting them for high risk people makes sense, but mandating them for everyone is just silly.

Those are words and not data. The data are not close. The vast, overwhelming majority of new cases are among the unvaccinated. That is an irrefutable fact.

It is true that if everyone was vaccinated, that all the new cases would be among the vaccinated. But that doesn't prove anything other than that vaccines are not perfect. We already knew that before they were even deployed. It's fine to talk about how imperfect they are, but it is unbelievably idiotic and stupid to pretend like they are equal to doing nothing. Such a position is profoundly out of touch with the truth. You could literally drive to your nearest hospital and interview virtually anyone leaving during shift change and confirm this--you don't have to believe any government or media.

The vaccines are highly effective--way more than what any of us could have fathomed a year ago. There are literally hundreds of thousands of Americans who would be alive right now if we'd had this vaccine a year ago today. The deadliest days in American history caused by a single cause were caused by COVID last December.

What does "makes sense" mean? The vaccines are highly effective and have basically no risk. You're more likely to die from a lightning strike walking to your car to get in it and drive to get the vaccine than you are from the vaccine. I can understand being less concerned about getting the disease if it's unlikely you'll suffer serious consequences even if infected, but what value is there in assuming that risk? So you can brag to your buddies that you did so?

Remaining unvaccinated is kinda like deliberately getting stung by a scorpion or bit by a rattlesnake because you're a healthy adult and it's unlikely you'll die. You'd be taking the risk of getting sick--extremely sick--for no benefit other than bragging rights. In what universe is that rational?

Not in the UK and Israel.

It's obvious by now that the protection provided by these vaccines diminishes pretty rapidly.

Scotland is 87% fully vaccinated, and their excess mortality is 30% above normal. They've had 20 consecutive weeks now of excess mortality.

Israel has decided that anyone 6+ months out of any COVID-19 vaccine does is no longer considered vaccinated. You have to get a booster every 6 months to be considered fully vaccinated there. Same reason why the Biden administration and Fauci have been trying to push for boosters - they see the writing on the wall.

Unfortunately with boosters, there is no real clinical trials or data to suggest that extra doses are safe or effective. That's why the top two FDA personnel in charge of approving vaccines quit as soon as the Biden administration announced their plans for boosters.

delta is resistant to the current vaccine, so they would need to engineer it again for delta, and they will end up chasing their tails.
unless you have a sterilizing vaccine, and people are still catching and spreading it, this will just force the virus to adapt and a different strain will emerge and become dominant. this is been known for a long time...

This is not entirely false, nor entirely true. Vaccine efficacy is yet unknown. And the overwhelming majority of new cases are NOT amongst the unvaccinated, exclusively. Far from irrefutable fact. It's statements like these that beg the question "why."? If vaccines are way more effective than thought...you need a broader understanding with which to form an opinion. And this is from someone who is neither anti vaccine nor trying to pretend they are equal to doing nothing...

Vaccine efficacy is not "yet unknown." It's literally the most studied scientific question in the world right now, and possibly ever, with billions of data points.

The overwhelming majority of new cases are among the unvaccinated by a tremedous margin. Adding "exclusively" to the end of the sentence just repeats the same nonsense: that the vaccine is not perfect. There are breakthrough cases, but they are quite rare and remain so, perhaps not as rare as was hoped, but still rare. Verifying this fact takes mere seconds:

There was a time not long ago where there were 20x more infections in unvaccinated than vaccinated, that number has diminished but it is nowhere near 1. It is several times more than that. Those numbers are not close.

A year ago, we were all hoping for a 60 or 70% effective vaccine. It sounds like you wanted a 100% effective one. I never thought there was going to be a vaccine at all for a coronavirus, so I'm thrilled that it's way more effective than I expected.

Moderna developed their mRNA technology with the goal to create pharmaceuticals in the body via hacking the transcription of genetic instructions in the cell.
They had several clinical trials to cure rare diseases via mRNA induced protein therapy.
However, the side effects of repeatedly hacking the body's protein production were too great and the trials failed.
So Moderna pivoted to vaccines where you would ideally only administer the mRNA once. In their publications you can find the explicit statement that they felt the technology at its current development state would be more suitable for single administration to minimize the side effect from reoccurring mRNA administration.(The problem is not so much the mRNA as how you have to sneak it into the cells past the immune system).
The planned booster rollout goes against Moderna's own assessment of the technology. Dr. Malone makes similar arguments.
In other words, the more often you administer the mRNA, the higher is the chance of unacceptable side effects.
Unfortunately, that does not deter a demented puppet, handled by power hungry villans, bribed by greedy pharma executives
