Ok, ive wanted an Orange Vise for a about 2 years now. I now have a better reason to buy one besides the fact they are awesome. @flyer1a nice work.

Oh and anyone balking at the price, these vises alone direct from Orange are normally around 1300 bucks. So 1150, for this package isnt bad.

But why? I'll pay for quality/performance but what are we getting here for the money?

I bought another one of the vices and a couple deluxe single stations last week then they were on sale direct from orange.

Along with the dove tail jaws. You can quickly and easily swap jaws to meet any of your needs.

Did you watch the video? Has many uses for gunsmithing
Oh I watched it. It's our personal opinions of course but what I saw was an intuitive pair of jaws I'd pay $60 for clamped in a horribly overpriced vice

Orange vices are not "horribly over priced" vices. They are excellent quality tools, top shelf engineering and manufacturing. On top of all that there made in the USA. There is nothing that comes even close to this bench vice for the price. A new Wilton 5" machinist vise is $1400 and you just have the standard serrated jaws, no head rotation. We have a few of the bench, a bunch of single and two station, along with there mini vice setups. There new pallet system is awesome too.

Damn, missed opportunity. After watching the video I went to grab one and they are OOS already.

You can get the vise direct from orange. Area419 said they may have the jaws for sale stand alone after orders for package are filled. Not sure what the jaws would cost, but right now the vise is 999 from orange.

I'm going to shoot them an email and maybe I'll get lucky. I can't imagine the jaw set only being $150 so hopefully I get good news.

Cool vise, seems like a bit of a miss that you need the hex key to make adjustments though. Hand adjustable knobs would’ve been great to adjust the rotation.

Yeah I’ve always thought that too but this is a welding and forging vise at heart. If you are beating something in it with a hammer maybe the hex key offered the most hold.

Everything about that vice screams quality. Except for the little nub that connects the vise body to the swivel base.

With the quality Orange Vice Company puts out and the reputation they have......I would think if that pivot nub was a problem it wouldn't be there....I'm not worried about it at all.

I'm ordering as soon as they come back in stock.

Right on. Again, the design intent is somewhat narrow. Within those bounds, I'm sure it will serve you well.

However, if Fireball Tool gets ahold of this thing, the nub may not survive long.

As for me, I use my tripod for cleaning, mounting and such. In other words, I am not the target market.

Now, If I could get jaws for a pattern maker's vise for a reasonable cost, I would certainly invest in a set.

Yeah but he files on the backstroke so it might have a chance 😆

Damn that is lovely  I didn't know that I needed a $1150 vise/jaw set and probably shouldn't get one until my boys move out of the house (they've become quick learners in various ways to abuse tools and my bench vises are no exception), but hopefully I'll be able to land one of those in the shop someday.

Like most things we make, they may not be for everyone - but if you want the nicest stuff on the market, let us know!

More will be in stock later this month, with a nice supply of them through Q1. Jaw sets will be available before long, but there is no way they will be $150 or less.

I see on Orange website you can purchase the vice in 4 or 5 colors.

Will you only be selling 1 color (orange/black?) Or will you have various colors to choose from like Orange Website?? Thx

We only plan on selling the color shown in our video and on our site. It's a black and gold. Only orange color on the unit is the Orange sticker.

I lust after that Fireball vise!

Given the interest, I don't see why they won't take backorders or at least pre-orders. Chances of me just happening to be at the computer when the email comes in next time and then having only minutes to complete order before they are sold out are slim. It's annoying to have to play games to buy something. Their business decision though.

Aren't there a couple of Area 419 folks on here? How about a SH group buy?

I think the way the supply chain has been they don't want to over extend. I know Orange has been busy as F. I just got my order from them that took a month to get. Which there usually shipping within a day or two of an order.

Always see people griping about these, but the are just a fancy third hand for most or the people using them it’s not like most of the users are beating them to hell.

For you bargain basement shoppers here's a state of the art "Smith Vise" on ebay for about $50 bucks with all the same accessories as the Orange Vise does everything exactly the same no difference. Make sure you put a thin layer of toilet paper around your AI, GAP, Barrett rifles then crank down with a cheater bar with at least 2 people...

I was thinking jaws that accommodate my Geissele 5.56 and .308 reaction rods that many of us already own and use regularly would be awesome
They would probably fit in the barrel vise portion of the jaws. Love my reaction rods.

I reached out to 419 today but haven’t heard back yet. I’m hoping orange makes like a quick change base for the vise because of I got two different benches I would like to mount the vise to depending on what I’m doing.

If you watch the video Area419 shows the quick change base and how easy it is to take off to move the vice to another bench. They even said they will have additional bases for anyone that wants multiple to put on different benches.
