Re: aics folding vs fixed stock Then just go for it. No regrets. You're already spending a shitload on your dream stock anyway. It encourages one to drive around with the rifle riding shotgun with ya too. And it's way easier to carry under my trench coat with a 16 inch barrel!
Re: aics folding vs fixed stock Well, you've probably shot for years without a folding stock. Was there ever a time that you couldn't do something because of your nonfolding stock? I doubt it. It's bigger deal in your mind than it is in real use. There's no disadvantage though. It's up to...
Re: Chassis or stock I have both the stocks you mentioned. The AICS is about 3.25lbs heavier, if that is a consideration. Folding is nice when you want it, but you have to be realistic about whether it really is important. You'll be able to adjust the cheekpiece to your proper height with the...
Re: Tikka Sporter reports? Thank you, dieselten. That is what I was looking for. Looking forward to hearing more reports on the new Tikka T3 Sporter in .260 and 6.5x55.
Re: speer 64gr gdsp sgtusmc_nc Here is a website address containing several agency test reports of this ammo. http://le.atk.com/general/irl/woundballistics.aspx
Re: speer 64gr gdsp Not sure about the previous post, however I do know that my Colt M4 can and has fired 1700+ rounds of Speer 64gr Gold Dot with zero failures and zero cleaning. What all do you want to know about the round? I may be able to do some tests if you need.
Re: Tikka Sporter reports? Thank you! I knew there had to be someone out there. I'm really tempted on a 6.5x55 since the action is a one-size-fits-all, and therefore also was assuming one could load the .260's out as far as needed (or throat allows). I already know the stock is going to fit...
Re: Bell and Carlson: Tactical Medalist Style 2 or 3?? SDP, I own a B&C "Style 3", a B&C A5 adjustable, a B&C M40, and have handled the "style 2". Of the two you mentioned, and asuming you are looking for a general purpose rifle, I highly recommend the "style 3" with the hook. I could care...
I am being very tempted to order a Tikka Sporter in .260 or 6.5x55 but am having a heck of a time finding any field reports on them. Surely someone here has one but has not reported...? Of course, we always want to see results of accuracy testing, but I'm also interested in COAL allowable in...
Re: Exactly What Problems Are There w/ USO Scopes? I had a 3.2-17 with EREK and ERGO once. After owning it for a couple months, debris showed up on the interior glass surfaces. Sent it in (#1), and received it back. I took it out to shoot. Again, stuff showed up on the lenses again. Sent it...
Re: Subtle Camo Job help All you need to do is spray your entire rifle with the color that you want dominant. Then take your time and make light passes with the other colors you want. Start with a light pass and then spray another pass until you get the look you want. Keep your distance at...
Re: ZEISS Conquest 4.5-14x44 AO Z-Plex It will serve you very well for your stated use. I have a Conquest on my main .22-250 varmint gun, and it will NOT part with it. Very good glass, is always dead-on (holds zero). Not much more to ask for when on a flat shooting rifle out to 400yds or so.
Re: First Build/First Post... Would love opinions!?! I would leave it alone. They shoot good enough stock. You were smart getting a stock that is adjustable so you can be comfy behind the gun. Save the money for ammo, and shoot. The only thing questionable in your setup is the scope. Well...
