I just loaded 60 for a friend to shoot in his .260 that has a mag. They fit in his mag just by a few thou. The Jacket is 1.325 long and they stretch just a little. Mike
Well been really busy at work. I now have the B.C for the 142gr. that I make. We shot them at 300yds. with the chrono at 299 yds from the muzzle. Velocity was 2711 average using H4350 powder and Rem. brass. The first B.C was 0.688 we thought it was a fluke so the next number was .708 well that...
Hello All, I have swaged bullets for going on 10 years now. I am currently making 9mm,.40,.45, .224,6.5mm and .30 caliber. I have some dies from corbin but prefer the carbide dies I get from a fella in Ill. The cost is high for either but I can get carbide for just a little more than the Corbin...
First is your pistol able to shoot a tight group? You can alter the crimp from .469 to .471 It might be a good thing to check the actual bore diameter, dont guess either. If the barrel is tight it may take a faster powder to get your accuracy you require. Larger bore = slower powder, Also VV 310...
Re: M40A1 Neck Tension That is something you will have to measure yourself. I have a Palma rifle that has the 95 Palma chamber is is tighter than my M118LR chambered sniper stick. You can just measure a loaded cartridge on the neck and subtract .002 to .003 to get the dimensions you need. I...
Re: Swaging with Corbin Press I used Richard Corbins equipment and some of Dave's presses. They really about the same, but Dave's is much more expensive. Where are you going to get the jackets? or are you going to swage your own, I made .50 jackets using copper tubeing, let me tell ya it was...
Re: Best Projectile for Subsonic 308? I have used 180gr. Hornady RN with very good accuracy with a 1-10 twist barrel. We shot them at over 300 yds. Not much when it gets there but it was accurate. Use a LEE Factory crimp die.
Re: Anyone here making their own bullets? I make my own .22, 6.5mm and .30 cal. I have a few corbin dies but they are sitting in a ammo can somewhere unused, now that I am using carbide dies, the steel dies have little or no use to me. I had a large hydro press from RCE that I made .50...
Re: Impressed with Eley Sport I have the Black box Eley and OSP Eley (Rapid Fire Pistol) and I love it. Shoots very good at 50 and 100yds. That is all I shoot,Annie 2013 Iron sights. Not sure what rifle you are using, but you are right it is dirty as hell. I carry a cleaning kit with a pull...
Re: Who lives in Georgia? I am in the Columbus/Ft. Benning Area. The range in Blakley is about 1.5 hrs away. You can shoot on Ft. Benning with CRC gun club. We have monthly matches from smallbore to F-class. Fl. is not too far either.
Re: New 6.5mm Triple ogive bullets I have only shot the 6.5mm at 300 yds. I zeroed the scope at 300 with the SMK 142 and then shot my 142gr. I did not measure how much higher they were but my guess would have been about 8-10 in. A Palma team member is shooting my .30 cal 185gr. and his X...
