I would add the FN SPR and the Winchester Stealth to the mix. I bought a Stealth a while back that is currently waiting for a new stock. The couple SPR's and Stealths I have come across have been great shooters. I also have a Tikka Tactical in .223 I bought used that has the longer barrel...

I have built 2 AR's on Aeroprecision lowers, 1 of them was built with an Aeroprecision upper. No problems with any of them.

Mine is supposed to arrive today. I can't wait to put it on after I get home from work today :-).

I vote for the Lothar Walther of the two choices you gave. Considering all of the choices listed in this thread Mcgowen would be my last choice. With LW, Shilen, and Criterion prefits any of them should be gtg. Any problems with accuracy with those 3 would probably be more shooter error than...

Wow, I was seriously thinking about building a Remington 700 and using the JAE 700, not after I have read all of the wait times.

Get the Tikka Varmint from Cabela's. great gun, especially with the sale. The chances of you being disappointed are extremely slim.

I would be interested too as I also have a Winchester Stealth and the factory DBM from FN is not cheap.

I have a T3 tactical with a 26" barrel in a 1:8 twist. I assume yours is the same twist. I use factory ammo though but it does seem to like the heavier rounds. I have had good success with 69 grain and 75 grain rounds.

Keep the Tikka and build off of that. You will regret it later if you sell it. I have a 26" tactical in .223 and can't imagine selling it.

I vote winchester also. I have a M70 stealth and love it.
