    I vote for the Lothar Walther of the two choices you gave. Considering all of the choices listed in this thread Mcgowen would be my last choice. With LW, Shilen, and Criterion prefits any of them should be gtg. Any problems with accuracy with those 3 would probably be more shooter error than...

    Get the Tikka Varmint from Cabela's. great gun, especially with the sale. The chances of you being disappointed are extremely slim.

    I would be interested too as I also have a Winchester Stealth and the factory DBM from FN is not cheap.

    Anyone shoot a Tikka T-3 in .223?

    I have a T3 tactical with a 26" barrel in a 1:8 twist. I assume yours is the same twist. I use factory ammo though but it does seem to like the heavier rounds. I have had good success with 69 grain and 75 grain rounds.

    Keep the Tikka and build off of that. You will regret it later if you sell it. I have a 26" tactical in .223 and can't imagine selling it.

    I bought an older T3 Tactical in .223 used that has a 26" barrel. It shoots laser beams and so have all of the other Tikkas I have ever had the chance to shoot so I would assume a Tikka Sporter would also. I am currently building a rifle and it is going to be built on a Howa stainless action...
