    338 lapua mag

Re: 338 lapua mag I have used IMR 4350 with 300g. SMK's and groups averaged .5 to .75 MOA. I switched to Retumbo at 89.0 grains and groups went to .25 to .5 MOA. This is with a Armalite AR-30 and Norma brass. Next time I will get Lapua brass, Norma is a little too soft. myerfire

4" GROUP AT 100 YDS!!!! WHAT THE HECK? - SOLVED!!

Re: 4" GROUP AT 100 YDS!!!! WHAT THE HECK? I would get a primer pocket uniforming tool. They are not that expensive, easy to use and only takes a few seconds to use. It is a recommended procedure in Glen Zediker's books. myerfire

    Annealing method discussion

Re: Annealing method discussion I have felt that after annealing, accuracy suffers for the first reload. after that, accuracy returns. It's possible that it is all just me. I guess this leading up to another excuse to get a annealing machine for better consistency. myerfire

    Remington 40x rifles

Re: Remington 40x rifles I have a 40-XB Tactical in 308. I like it now that I put a Jewell trigger in it. It generally shoots .4 to .8 MOA, but like crisj said about getting a custom build, that is what I will do next time. myerfire

    AR-10 owners

Re: AR-10 owners A good test is to measure 5 rounds or so, put them in a magazine and cycle them through and then measure them again. My opinion is that if you want to be sure the bullet is not going to move, you need to crimp it. I use .003, any less and it won't hold tight enough, any more...

    JP LRP-07

Re: JP LRP-07 I only have one JP LRO-07, the machineing on the bolt is so incredibly smooth, it feels like glass. It did some .5 and .6 MOA groups at 200 yards last Friday. JP makes an excellent product. myerfire

Re: Compact fluorescent bulbs and electronic scales? I called RCBS a couple years ago and asked about flourescents affecting their digital scale and they said there was no affect on the newer models. Again, this was a couple years ago. myerfire
