I was wondering if anyone knows of any PC video games where you can practice long range shooting. My issue is I spend a lot of time getting down my Mrads and MOA, only to not target practice for many months or even a year and forgetting the ranging. This is something which if I had a video...
gr8fuldoug: I am trying to compare those two scopes, the athlon and the konus. which scope would you say has better optical clarity for seeing bullet holes at 100-300 yards? At the end of the day that is what is important is to make out where my bullet landed on the target so I can stop having...
I was just wondering, how does the Konus Optics Konuspot-100 20-60x100 Spotting Scope compare to the vortex diamondback and viper? I know the vortex spotting scopes are more expensive but I don't want to pay too much money either for just a little benefit. I do like that the Konus is a x100, to...
I did read many of the spotting scope threads but many are older and go for the really expensive ones. I was thinking, maybe I should pay out the money and get a vortex razor HD but I'm not sure if I need that to use occasionally at the gun range to see bullet holes. What I want to do is see...
Yes, the only thing is I was looking for really light weight battle builds here and it seems the lightest barrels are these faxon pencil barrels. Trying to find other manufactures that have just as light barrels.
Just an update. Faxon did send me another 10.5" barrel. However, it has the same issue again, not as bad but the same issue. I'm having such bad luck here. What would you guys do if you got two bad barrels in a row like this? How common is this? Here are the pictures of my 2nd barrel, it's...
For those interested here are pics of the crud inside the barrel that would not clean out. These pictures are after I ran a lot of patches down them, and also solvent. Then I took a picture of a brand new 11.5" faxon pencil barrel and you can see its shiny smooth. What do you think all that...
Cotay, I agree that is why for my battle rifles, Ar15 & ar10, I went with a bunch of pencil barrels and V Seven hyperlight rail. These builds are super light and I love them. These would be for pure battle where I wouldn't be hitting more than 200-300 yards. Mostly these rifles are for Close...
I contacted them a couple of days ago and they are going to send me a new barrel. I'm not experienced as you guys when it comes to this stuff. Maybe this crud would be normal on some barrels and part of the process of constructing it. Better to know what is up to make a plan on how to get the...
I'm not too happy about this. This is a new 10.5" faxon pencil barrel I purchased. After building the rifle and doing the first cleaning, the inside of the barrel looked all cruddy, like it has had a lot of rounds through it. I though maybe that was from the factory test firing the barrel?? Do...
I was going to buy the 20" Ballistic advantage creedmoor, then I started reading stuff about gas tube length, like +2" rifle lengths, and barrel length. Where a 22" barrel length really benefits by a +2". Just so many variables and ballistic advantage doesn't offer +2. I then just decided to...
With the ballistic advantage barrel. I've been trying to determine what barrel length to use. Now I am hearing about the gas tube length, and +2 lengths, and that rifle length gas systems are not good on 22" length. Since the Ballistic advantage 6.5 creed moor barrels are all rifle length gas...
I am going to build a 6.5 creedmoor AR10 before the bans come in next year. Well, lets assume the bans come in next year and I'm stuck with this single barrel. If you really have no idea what you will use the gun for, what would be the safest length to get, assuming you will never be able to...
I went to the range today. The only thing I did was quickly clean the gun and barrel quickly before heading to the range and put on a different stock. I used the same 5.56 Federal, but also tried some Wolf Gold .223 ammo. I guess it must be me then, I didn't think I became that much of a better...
