I have three M7Xi’s and out of the box, parallax knob tension was a little higher than any other scope I’ve owned or currently own. Once mounted to the rifle, it wasn’t as bad as when it was in my hand. It wasn’t tight enough that it ever disturbed my shooting position though. Over the last year...
Well now, that’s 10 minutes of my life I’ll never get back but worth the entertainment, maybe. That was almost as painfully entertaining as any one of Nutnfancy’s videos that I couldn’t force myself through. Although, I’m undecided as to who is more Operator AF at this point.
I have a load worked up for a 20” 1/10 twist Rem 700 that groups with the same consistency out of a 24” 1/11.25 twist AIAT. I haven’t the slightest clue what they are jumping out of either. I have never had a problem with the seating depth/ jump of the Juggernauts from any .308. They are...
Rail is not bowed but that was also my first thought when I noticed it. I’ve checked it with a straight edge and mic in multiple locations. When I first mounted the M7, the Spuhr was torqued to the pic rail of my Defiance Deviant LA. I’ve had five different optic/Spuhr combinations mounted to...
I have eight Spuhr ISMS mounts currently in use. Seven are 34mm and one is 36mm. Out of all eight, I have one 34mm that the rear cap (A-40) does not torque down with an even gap between the front of the cap to base vs rear of cap to base. It was causing a slight rough spot in the magnification...
Only thing I know of that will be an issue is the leveling wedge. If you decide to use it to level the M7, the wedge will need to be modified to clear the parallax knob and maybe the windage knob. Using the wedge to level mine in the SP-4302 I had to modify both ends to clear and sit flush with...
Well the inevitable finally happened. I knew it eventually would, just wasn’t expecting it so soon. So there I was, alone in a room with nothing but a table, a chair, and a kool-aid filled cup with @CSTactical on the side. I sat down and drank it. As I tipped it up for the last sip, I saw...
I think people that are interested are mostly wary of tracking issues that were related to early production T5Xi’s. The second reason I can think of would be the reports of excessive CA that seem to span across half of the ones discussed. I have two T5Xi 5-25’s that I purchased as...
You bet. This last October, Steiner certainly made a point to assure me that Germany would be rectifying the issues and that the M7Xi’s would be double checked as they came into the country beginning this last November. The last four that have showed up were obviously removed from the...
The only bad reviews I’ve read or things I’ve personally experienced pertaining to the M5Xi have mainly been centered around the 5-25. Chromatic aberration and image quality on the high end, and elevation/windage turret feedback being softer than what most people prefer. I’ve seen at least five...
It is my understanding that Steiner slowed production down significantly and once they have the bugs worked out of the Assembly and Quality Control departments in Germany and are keeping up with demand/production, resulting in the 4-28’s being more consistent, they will then release the 2.9-20...
I would expect to find that model anywhere between $1,500-$2,000 used as a good price. If I just had to have one, I would probably only give 1,500-1,800 used. I was in the market for this scope several months ago but with the 2.9-20 M7Xi on its way, I decided to hold off.
Plenty of info out there about them. They are a proven optic that were ultimately held back by pricing and image quality above 15x mag. Mainly the amount of CA and it’s resolving abilities at high mag. Otherwise it’s highly regarded. I’ve seen several copies that I thought were pretty...
Another vote for Steiner P4Xi. I have one that has bounced around on a 308 behind the seat of my pickup off and on for the last year. It has held up great to that abuse and haven’t had a single issue taking this rifle/optic combo to 1,500 yards. I also use it for low light predator control and...
First thing I’ll always do is use a little hand held air blower that comes in camera lens cleaning kits to gently remove loose debris and larger particles. Second, I’ll use a lens brush to remove what debris will brush away. Third, I’ll take a shot glass worth of distilled water and dip Pure...
Correct. If the set screws are not installed or are loose, the turret will rotate free of clicks. You probably have too large or too small of Hex key. Try another size. The correct size should be 2mm.
I have both P4Xi and Gen 1 Razor. Prefer the P4Xi. Better turrets, less CA, better distortion control, brighter image, better in low light, and I like the SCR reticle much more than the EBR-2B.
I bought a pair of T5Xi’s from @CSTactical 3 years ago and had them cerakote one of them FDE. They did a great job and it has held up very well. I highly recommend and would definitely use them again. I have been using Clint at Custom Gun Creations in Comfort, Tx lately. Not for scopes yet but...
