Might be hard to find lots of people with it currently. I made my own holster for it with a Pl mini 2 so I cant speak to options but there seem to be a few that are coming on line. I have mine set up with a pl mini2 and its the way i prefer it. I will warn you that it eats a bit of real estate...
Yeah mine is a SCAR 17. I haven't had a real chance to stretch its legs yet but so far no issues and seems nice to my eyes though I'm very insensitive to glass. I like that Burris has a nice setup with data to quick reference for the reticle when used with other calibers. Should help get close...
I was on the fence during preorder but I'm thinking about picking one up when they move through the preorders. I'd like a longer barrel than the 16 on my Scar maybe a 18 or 20 so it will be interesting to see what they release. I'm glad they are out in the wild and it seems like reviews are...
I picked up a muzzle brake for my 338 LM and just wanted to share my experience with it. Its a Muzzle Brakes and More 2 piece BEAST brake and it is simply amazing. I slid in behind my DTA and prepped for what I'd been lead to believe would be bowel shaking recoil and instead was slightly pushed...
If you have a continuous top rail you could still use the M10 rings or go with a QD-L if you want to have something a bit quicker that will still work for the bolt gun down the road. If you have to go cantilever I like American Defense Manufacturing.
I can't give you any feedback yet but I picked up a ARC M10 QD-L Unimount for $180 in the exchange here and they are reviewed well. Guy sounded like he had more than one.
I received my ares 4.5-27 last night and haven't had time to really mess with it but it seems nice so far. Turrets turn maybe a bit easy but they click and are not what I'd consider mushy. The power ring moves without terrible effort and the glass looks nice though we have had wildfires so...
Clearly some folks with a ton of thought on this. I can't say what size I'd like the dot to be but atleast for a FFP please include a quick ranging stadia reticle i.e. shoulder width or height based.
I have a Talos 4-14 and am pretty happy with it so I'm strongly considering an Ares 4.5-27. As you guys all have them would you mind commenting on what you'd compare the Ares to or what else you'd consider under 2k?
My understanding is getting to absolute 1x costs quite a bit which is why a lot of 1-_ scopes are actually 1.1 or 1.2x on the low end. That's likely what your paying extra for but as the previous poster stated, with time its not terrible.
I'd love to know about the reticle options as I'm looking for something with a H59 or Tremor 3 and almost pulled the trigger on the 3.5-21 before I found out it was not illuminated.
