    243 Barrel life question

If you don't run it at max speed and pressure life will be better to some extent. Shooting long strings like in fclass will eat a barrel alive. Even 308s lose their competitive edge substantially quicker in fclass. Granted accuracy standards are now very demanding in that arena. That being said...

F T/R Competition Does anyone, here, shoot at The Iocso Sportmans

I haven't shot there yet. I mostly shoot at Midland and Cadillac. Soon Washtenaw as I'm moving to SE Mi. I know there are some great shooters that had over to Oscoda though.

.204 Ruger: The battle between velocity and wind drift

I have played around quite a bit with the light 26gr bullets, 32gr vmax, 40gr vmax, 40gr nosler. After loading both 32gr and 40gr bullets for a prairie dog blasting trip I must say I prefer the 40s. I used Reloader 10x for both bullet weights. I didn't do a max load with the 40gr bullets but I...

Kid dies after not able to get inhaler from the school's office.

My brother has severe asthma and all throughout his elementary and high school years my parents always made him keep an inhaler in his backpack. There is no way in hell I would let school admins hold onto my potentially lifesaving albuterol, insulin, epi, etc.

Have you second guessed your career?

All I know is that it is never too late to change careers. Take my field for instance, I am a medical student, while I am a bit older than the average age, there are some in there late 30s and 40s. A few of these people were in careers completely unrelated to medicine. They decided for a change...

Need advice for new/used economy car. *Update

I really liked the Cruze Eco but I haven't been able to find one in the area was used and in my price range. I never really have any passengers besides my girlfriend anyway and I think the Sonic looks a little sportier than the Cruze. I did actually drive an Aveo back in 2004 or so, it was the...

Need advice for new/used economy car. *Update

Just a little update. After test driving a bunch of vehicles I found a Used 2012 Chevy Sonic LTZ hatch with 11,800 miles. So it still has the bumper to bumper and powertrain warranties for a while yet. It has every option including heated pleather seats, sun roof, upgraded sound system. It is a...

Hunting round for deer in 308

I just took a buck with a 155gr Amax. It was a weird angle but I grazed the heart/lung, and liquefied the other lung. The exit hole was small which was weird because the ribs on the exit side were just turned into oblivion. Velocity was around 2900 or so and distance was 30 yards. There was...

Advanced Marksmanship The dangers of leaving your steel at the range.

Pfffft. That little square he traced out is what I used for 2 miles with my 270 huntin rifle and the Leupold 3-9x it is wearing. Never forget that the Remington Core-Lokt is the deadliest mushroom in the woods.

Hunting & Fishing Savage 99C lever action 7-08

A friend of mine has one of these rifles which turns out to be pretty rare especially since it is a 7-08. He is looking to sell it and was curious to your guy's opinions. It is in relatively great shape. The only flaw I found was very slight rust on the action. Otherwise, it is perfect. Not bad...

    Savage Rifle Build Dillema

No more difficult than cutting the original chamber I would presume. Especially for an experienced gunsmith/lathe operator. If your having a smith do the work, don't forget it will be 150 or so bucks and a new match barrel cost around 300 so you would almost already be in that realm. Might be...

    Savage Rifle Build Dillema

All of my shooting buddings and I shoot using Savages. My go to rifle is a 260AI, my friend shoots the Dasher. We are both using CBI 28 inch 8 twist barrels. I am not sure what type of life he is going to get, but loading my 260AI to 2800fps, which is very mild, I am still getting awesome...

    DIY target camera system

I have a friend that is really into FPV rc stuff. It works awesome and is very affordable. I will talk with him and see what he thinks would be the best options in terms of cost, range, quality and post the parts list. I'm thinking under 200 +/- bucks could get you a pretty slick set up.
