Please excuse my ignorance in this matter, but that's why I joined this sight. Other than where the pins would hold it to the lower, is there any reason that an AR-15 upper could not be modified to fit a Sig 556 lower? All of the action resides within the upper, so I'm not sure what the issue...

Re: Replacement Barrel Yes, but the barrels are of dubious quality at best. They aren't even hammer forged like the factory barrels, and you have no idea who makes them. I'm looking for a heavier contour than stock as well, maybe a caliber change.

Re: sig 556 question I have a 556 Swat that I have also put around 1500 rounds through without a single malfunction. The platform is sweet, but the folding stock and the 16" barrel make it a combat rifle, not a DMR. That being said, the gun is way more accurate than I would have guessed...
