Re: "cheap" scopes I have the BSA Mil Dot Tactical 6-24x44 on my Rem 700 5R. I'm still new to precision shooting so I only have about maybe 75 rounds with it. It seems to be ok, I really have not had any other scopes to compare it to. I think it is pretty good for the price.
Re: Remington 700 5R Recoil Pad I finally got up the nerve up to do the grind to fit install. I started on it today, but need to get some epoxy and fine grit sandpaper for finishing up. I'm using the Pachmayr Decelerator 750B 1" medium size. I used a belt sander to grind the pad. I'm also...
I shot my 5R yesterday for the second time. I put about 30 rounds through it. I have to be honest my shoulder is pretty sore this morning. Has anyone upgraded the recoil pad on their Rem 700 5R? Any suggestions on what pad to use?
I was looking through the Midway USA June sales paper and saw a nice looking AR15 barrel from AR-Stoner. It is a 18" fluted stainless barrel that is threaded and has 5R rifling. Chambered in 223 wylde. The price is not bad either. Does anyone know anything about this company or how good these...

Ok 5r owners. I have a Remington 5r in stock trim. I want to enhance/change the looks of if but not sure which way I want to go. I'm not real crazy about the stainless on black and green stock. I am curious what you other 5r owners have done to enhance the looks and performance of your rifle...
Re: Torque wrench Thanks for all of your input. I dont know what I was thinking. I decided on the Borka Adjustable Torque Screwdriver model ATD-10x80-CRS.
Ok, I'm trying to cheap out and am condisering buying a automotive style 1/4" torque wrench from Harbor Freight for 19.99. Torque settings are from 20-200 inch pounds. Is this a good idea or is it just plain stupid? Need input.
Re: My first long range rig Nice rile man. I was wanting to do something like that but my local gun store talked me in to buying a 5r. I looked at the same rifle a dicks but it was around 550.00. Congrats on the gun and the Fiance, she sounds like a keeper.
