    I run a 6.5x47L about 2680 FPS from a 18" shooting 140 BTHP's. I am guessing you'd be in the ballpark with the PRC.

    I am considering another .22 caliber shooting heavies in the future. I understand the benefit in an AR, but I am wondering what the benefits of the Valkyrie over a 22 CM, 22x47L, 22-250 and maybe a .223 AI or 22 LBC. Powder burnt?....Factory ammo? I ain't hating and have never shot one in...

    Short barrel in 6 mm or similar in 16”-!8”

    I was thinking a 6x45 as well, but thought he said he doesn't reload. A 6x45 shooting heavy bullets is pretty fun. Given his requirements, I would go with the 6.5CM as well. I run 123 gr's in my 18" around 2800 FPS.

    I run 123gr out of my 18" 6.5CM at around 2820fps but my son rarely lets me shoot it any more. I have an 18" 6.5x47L that I run 140grs from at 2700 fps.

    Here is an Win M70. After this pic was taken, I went to a standard set of low Leupold DD rings that cured the problem you are anticipating, but did prefer the additional 20 MOA adjustment the rail provided so it is back to this configuration with a Triad Stock pack that is working just fine.

    I run both the 10 round MDT's and the 5 round AM. Both feed with no issues.

    Short/er barrel 6.5x47

    I am running 140's in an 18" Bartlein around 2675 fps fueled by H4350. I also tried R17 and Varget which both produced fantastic accuracy. The Varget pressured out pretty quickly though with the R17 nearly being a toss up to the 4350 in both accuracy and velocity.

    That does suck, but am sure you'll be taken care of. The only time I ever needed their CS, I couldn't have ask for anything more!

    Short barrel 6mm

    18" Rem 700. It shot the Hdy American Gunner 140gr HPBT factory ammo into tiny groups. Velocity was ho-hum, but very accurate.

    223 Bolt Gun Loads

    I would say shoot some and see. I had a .223 5R that shot the 75gr HPBT surprisingly well. IME, 75gr from a 1-9 are hit or miss.

    I am not a chassis guy and honestly don't know better, but that looks just "off" with the mag well of what appears to be a long action with that SA mag in it.

    I say do it too. Both of these are Rem Varmint Bartleins and weigh around the 12 lb mark with the CM a bit less with the Mark 4. Killed 4 deer and a speed goat with the CM this year and wasn't horrible to carry, but if I was going to build a pure hunting rifle, a lighter contour would be used...
