i love my New England 308. No issues with it, have several other New England's in the cabinet. 444, 22h, 223, 30-06, 308, 12ga, 270. Its a nice little platform, lightweight, easy to shoulder. I was taught, 1 shot 1 kill.
around here we still have the non popular powders on the shelves. that's what I've been picking up, rather than paying panic prices and fees to online retailers. "changing of the times" yes its nice to have the normal powder we all use when we reload, but its the "what if....."factor.
Re: Wal- Mart ammo Heard that about Walmart, but haven't been in to verify for myself. The only thing I would need from wally world would be 22lr. And I have 1000's already. But my mom and pop shops have them.
Re: this is getting old real quick!!!! Here in Central PA most mom and pop shops have all the supplies need to reload. Walked in yesterday for primers and they asked me ho many 1000 I need. I said only need 1000. Plenty of powder and multiples of them. Cabelas is 2 hrs away, Bass Pro is 1...
Re: Reloading Supplies? I get the same deals that igot in the spring, from the mom and pop gun shop. He doesnt want to price gouge people so he leaves his prices where they be long, and his store room is about 1.5 times as big as his as his show room. He has powders, bullets, primers in...
Re: Best place to get .380 brass Other than going to your local range and being a brass rat, just keep online. Dont just look at 2 or 3 sites. Look at many many sites. I see 380 come up forsale and few hours later, its sold. Keep diggin, you will find some.
Re: decapping pin wont stay in You may need to use a "headed" decap pin. I had to after I bent the stem when a berdan 223 snuck its way into my boxer brass. Broke the pin and bent the stem, only fix and still going strong was a headed decap pin.
Re: First time Annealing. What you think? That was going to be my question as well about can't you tell just by color. As my brass gets up in fireings I'm going to have to start thinking of annealing myself.
Re: Ultrasonic cleaner I just have a jeweler's ultra sonic. I get about 30 rifle casings in it. I only use it for deep tarnished cases, all my tumbling is vibratory dry.
Re: crimping 223 hornady bullets with cannelure? Neck tension and measurements are correct. Every bullet isnt created as like their brother or sister, every now and then i get one that less round as others, hence wiggle and loose fitting. Crimping helps hold the bullet with the cannelure...
Re: AR Comp 308 load I have single shot 308, and use AR COMP for my 223 and 308. I dont chrony my rounds, but i get as good of groups as my IMR powders. Both a good choice.
Re: crimping 223 hornady bullets with cannelure? I crimp 223 if the bullet wiggles or seems like its going to fall out. .224 bullets with most all bullets are mass produced, very few bullets are the same.
Re: Cost comparison? For me 223 is running me .20 a piece to reload, 9mm is running .11 a piece to reload. A lot cheaper than buying them off the shelf. I reload 15 different calibers, so every penny saved is a penny more i can shoot.
