Generally speaking, converted A3's will have an E prefix and newly made A5's will have a G prefix. A majority of A5's are converted A3's.

Did he coat the barrel? I'm wondering if some of the overspray got into the bore or chamber of the barrel. It would explain why it improved over time as the coating was wearing away.

I don't think a BEAST itself would be an issue so much as the 5-25 magnification range. The 2.5-10 range is more appropriate for an SPR type rifle. You will also have a weight savings to go along with the better FOV.

I would bet that a late model SR-25 will be more reliable than a Stag AR15. Problem is the price tag that goes along with it.

I think your assumptions with the Remington actions are inaccurate. Much like the right handed models, it is oftentimes cheaper to buy the whole gun and part it out. Even more, I have never seen a new left handed action sold by itself. I think the best route would be to find a lightly used left...

Have you run into cycling issues with this load combination? How about beat up brass?

Have you tried the usual channels to pick up a used chassis? Otherwise, you would need to make sure that the different screw location behind the hand grip is compatible with your chassis.
