Ok fellas im building a .308 surgeon repeater and i have a AICS 1.5 for it to go in when its done. Its a surgeon repeater,21.75" bartlien m24 contour fluted with a 4x16x50 S&B.Any body have any idea what it will weigh? And also what would be lighter an A-4 or 5 vs the AICS? Im trying to keep the weight down a little but this AICS feels heavy as hell! Thanks for any help.

+1 to that but not considerably heavier if compared to the mcmillans with the sniper fill.

Why don't you weigh your A5 and your AICS, see which is lighter and post the results?

I have that set up in a 24 inch fluted Bartlein , it weighs around 18 lbs. with an IOR SH scope and meedium rings. I also have the same set up in a Mcmillan a-5, sniper fill, weighs about 4 lbs less but with a Leupold Mark 4 and Badger DMR rings.

damn....so it looks like im gonna be all over 18lbs.I was kinda hoping for a little less but o well.Maybe i can just only use one badger 34mm ring on the schmidt, drill holes in the stock, take one of the legs off my bi pod and put a very small bolt knob on it to lighten it up.
