Another Picture Thread - All Other Semi-Autos

RPD in semi auto. Built on an unissued matching complete Polish Type 3 Parts Kit. Barrel cut to 16" and the Bipod was also shortened. Has an M60 style Flash Hider and a hanger for a GI M249 Nut Sack.

That looks like a ton of fun.
Probably expensive being able to shoot that so many rounds without having to reload.
But still really fun to shoot none the less.

Here is one I did all the work in my garage. Barrel turned from an Obermeyer 308 blank. Receiver is a heel stamped Polytech. Mount is a SSR* (the best there is IMHO), scope is NXS 2.5x10, suppressor is a legacy FA762SS. All metal parts are GI; bolt assembly, trigger group, op rod, gas system.

* Picked up another SSR mount to use in my other project - 338 Federal M1A. I need to get motivated enough to start cutting on the blank. Turning a 14 barrel from 1.25 inch blank is a royal pain in a manual lathe and manual mill.

OMG.... I so want that....... So bad.....

In 2010 I decided to break out the 14s and see if I can distinguish again competing against black guns. Yup, I got the imaginary 30 points; won 2 EIC matches, placed 2nd in a couple, and would been high non distinguished numerous times. The highlight I think it was 2012 the 14 won a state high power match against bolt guns and space guns.

Camp Perry 2012 Springfield M1A match, took the high senior. Won $500, and a 1911. Had SAI engraved my name and match on the slide. My 7 yo grandson, my namesake, will inherit it, along with a MIA with special S/N and his name engraved on it, among other things weapons in nature

These are the 3 Amigos I rotated. One used in matches, one with fresh barrel zeroed waiting, the 3rd getting re-barreled.

You sir win the internet . Been looking for one and kick myself for not buying a DSA when they were $25000.

Those modified shorty RPD's used in 'Nam by SEALs, MACV-SOG, etc are amazing and a full auto version is a personal dream of mine to own or at least shoot one. Pretty much the original Mk 46 Mod 0 if you think about it(albeit in Soviet form...)!! 🤘 🤘

Never did post my AK in here since it got some updates. There's a few AK matches popping up in my area so it got a red dot, AKT trigger, barrel chopped to 14" and a JP brake pinned on.

Shoots surprisingly soft and the trigger is very fast despite having a ton of travel. Easily gets .15 or faster splits. Should've zoomed in on the targets so you could see how close the pairs are on each of the 3 targets. It's impressive for being a farm implement of a firearm.

I've wanted one of these for so long.... Sterling MK6 semi 9mm carbine, a genuine British-made pre-ban 1980's gun, not a conversion. 16" barrel added for U.S. import. Fires from a closed bolt. Weighs a hefty 7 LB 10 OZ. The MK6 comes with two female threaded studs on top of the receiver. This particular example came with a nicely turned out Mil-Std 1913 steel rail on top. As was pointed out to me by a much more experienced collector, the weapon pre-dates the 1913 rail by a number of years. The magazines are a work of art, with two rollers serving as the follower. Stuffing #34 into the magazine is only a little harder than loading #1.

Every time I see a FAL, L1A1, etc, I get the image of a slight Nepalese guy at a UN Checkpoint in Lebanon, with a rifle that is about as tall as he is.

He also has big Kukri blade on him.

Maybe, just maybe he knows how to deploy that blade.....

Other than a few .22's and a mini 30 this is my only semi auto rifle. Its a dpms lr g2, has an eotech 512 a65 on it and a stream light tl i think.... and an aac flash hider/ suppresor adapter. Its my truck gun and edc rifle.

Several decades ago, I was intrigued by Cold War Battle Rifles. The one that impressed me the most was the Italian BM59. It is a shooter's rifle. I was fortunate to snag a nice one.

The attributes of the BM59: The best 7.62 NATO rifle magazine ever made, the great sights from the venerable M1, the same solid long stroke gas piston operating system of the M1, a good two-stage trigger, reasonable ergonomics, a classic walnut stock, meticulous assembly and craftsmanship, and the most effective muzzle device maybe ever put on a fighting gun. This one has a near new bore and almost too-good-to-be true trigger.

An interesting side note is Springfield, who assembled this rifle from Beretta BM59 parts, left off the "Springfield Armory" stamp normally seen on the left rear of the receiver.

Beautiful rifle. I have the 1990 Springfield catalog showing the four models offered along with the retail price sheet. Your model retailed for $1,950.00. A 20 round magazine retailed for $39.00.
