Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16X50 Side Focus Multi-X $409

Nitrex TR Two 3-15X50mm Matte Finish Illum. TrexPlex Reticle $349 with $100 rebate

Looking at either of these scope for my .243 Half of the time the gun will be used at night for coyote hunting and other half day hunting for coyotes. It will also serve as my deer rifle but that is nil because no shots are over 100 yards at the stands. I know the 4200 is a proven low light scope, durable and would be a no brainer if it had the Illum reticle. But with some of the reviews of the Nitrex glass and the Illum reticle it seems to be catching my eye alot. Any thoughts between the two?

Re: Bushnell 4200 or Nitrex TR Two?

Just bought a pair of Nitrex Two's. I can't give you a review on the illuminated Nitrex or Bushnell, but I just bought a 3-15 Duplex and 2-10 EBX. One went on my starter long range rifle (308 bolt gun) until I can move up to a higher class scope. The 2-10 is going on my RRA Varmit when it gets here for a coyote/paper puncher. Both are excellent quality optics for the price. Are they a Razor/NF/Hensoldt/PH.....no not even close. Are they really good glass for what you pay for them? Yes, in my opinion they are. I am not sure how they will hold up to torture - but likely again nothing like an upper tier scope. But, on the other hand, I was taught that you don't beat your optics and I am not a professional operator, so babying my glass is not a big deal to me. I have a 4-16 Millett Buck Gold on a 243 that serves pretty much the same purpose you outlined. In my opinion, I think I like the Nitrex better than the Millett.
