Is this where we post grainy footage of varmint shoots and call them "Exclusive scope cam footage- Sniper Kills- Afghanistan?"

So remind me which one we’re rooting for today over there? Lol
Im rooting for Massoud and his boys, They seem like the most reasonable, and the ones who are actually trying to do, what we tried to do for them. But Im almost always for the underdawg.

I heard they have American hostages. Guess they want more of those Biden bucks.
Fuck, stolen elections have consequences.

It seems its not the Taliban but State department holding the hostages.

Several reports began to trickle in over the weekend about planes stuck in Afghanistan which are trying to evacuate stranded Americans and Afghan allies.

While a 'senior Congressional source' told CBS News on Sunday that 'the Taliban won't let them leave,' several new sources have come forward to blame the Biden State Department for preventing the flights from leaving earlier in the weekend.

According to Fox News and former Trump admin official Emily Miller - both of whom have been in direct contact with Americans involved in a private rescue effort - including leader Rick Clay - the Biden administration put up red-tape roadblocks.

"The State Department is the sole entity preventing their charter flights from leaving Afghanistan," one of the rescuers told Fox.
"This is zero place to be negotiating with American lives. Those are our people standing on the tarmac and all it takes is a f****ing phone call," one of the rescuers told Fox News. "If one life is lost as a result of this, the blood is on the White House's hands. The blood is on their hands," that individual said, adding: "It is not the Taliban that is holding this up – as much as it sickens me to say that – it is the United States government."

That individual suggested that the State Department's obstruction is motivated in part by embarrassment that private individuals are rescuing Americans that the U.S. government left behind.
Military command over Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar, have informed those seeking clearance to land that they must first go through the State Department to gain approval, an email reviewed by Fox News shows.
Clay has a manifest of 4,500 names of U.S. citizens, green card holders, SIVs and refugees trying to get state-side. So far, they've given the State Department 800 names for a first round of flights. Fox News has reviewed that manifest, which confirms Clay's account.
...
Clay told Fox News that
his organization is "having problems getting permission" from the Biden State Department "to land on the return flight" from Afghanistan in a neighboring country. -Fox News

Massoud Jr. in his audio message acknowledged the Taliban's control over all of Afghanistan.
1. In the morning the Taliban occupied Bazarak and hung their flag there. Now all areas of the Panjshir province are controlled by the Taliban.
2. The remnants of the resisting troops of Massoud and Saleh fled to the mountains.
3. Masud is still allegedly in Panjshir, Saleh is allegedly in Tajikistan.
4. The Taliban reaffirmed that the amnesty applies to all residents of Panjshir.
5. In general, the Panjshir resistance balloon burst as quickly as it was inflated.
6. Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the armed takeover of Panjshir by the Taliban. Bernard Henri-Levy mourns Panjshir on Twitter.

I think many should be able to pick out who the terrorist are now, just saying.

From what limited reporting I can piece together so far, it appears that the Taliban does not control the entire valley, but have definitely pushed into and hold most of the valley floor. The resistance lost two of their top commanders in the fighting while they have been toting a picture to of a killed Pakistani commander. Amrullah Saleh and Ahmad Massoud appear to still be alive.

The social media for the resistance is claiming that they fell back to the mountains to avoid heavy supporting fire from the Pakistanis.

Guess we will have to wait and see to see if any of these claims are accurate.

Wonder how they determine who gets the sweet M4 with 203 and who gets the 40yr old AK that was run over by a tank and still smells like commies and goats?

I think they give the M4 with 203 to the stupid hot heads that then get to carry all that dead weight around all the time

Carry it? Thought they were just rolling around in our HMMWVs MRAPs and new Toyota’s?

Meanwhile excess inventory of HMMWS and MRAPs is being shipped to Iran .

Typical afghan claims are always overtaking the reality. Panjshir has mostly fallen, but the Northern Alliance or whatever these jokers call themselves these days is still present in the hills .

Will the Taliban be chasing them around these mountains?

Good question as they also pointed out that the Russians took the same space 9 times in 9 years. Without controlling the mountains, owning the valleys has limited utility.

Muj had huge resources from outside actors to keep them in the fight and very importantly cross border sanctuaries in Pakistan, but even so they were hammered hard , similar to VC after Tet ,Muj were barely making it. Realistically foreign troops always only own the city centers and the tiny specks of turf surrounding the OP's . during the day and even less once night falls. Not sure that also applies to the Taliban even though they are 'foreign' tribesmen to the locals.

While i am sure some resistance will continue, the Taliban exerts far more control than they ever did in 90's , and what its left of NA is a fraction of what they were any time before.

Unlike in the 1990s, when the Northern Alliance were able to control the supply lines from Tajikistan to the Panjshir valley, this time the Taliban captured the provinces to the north of Panjshir so the logistics become much more problematic, CIA ran the Massuds since the 90's and Saleh was even brought to US for training in 1999 as they had open lines to Tajikistan supplies were non issue , the had their own airforce, US-supplied $$ and nonlethal aid and they were a mayor drug dealer so had the revenue to finance war.. This time around we will have to see who if anyone allows sanctuary for forces opposing the Taliban.

In any case, things will get dicey soon enough as cashflow problems come to forefront, even Taliban sponsors from the Gulf seem to be cutting the flow of $$ .

It's quite interesting Gulf dictatorships like to play wars as long as they last, but once they end they suddenly feel threatened even if their player won. You know they fear that folks at home would take notice and try an insurgency at home, that their military would fold like ANA and that US might not fight their rule.

Post-mortem: The Taliban sucked up their casualties and swarmed the valley, like Napoleon's voltigeurs or a Khanate horde. Reportedly they had BM-21's on tap. I guess after driving all those MRAPs to Pakistan, the ISI gave them something to drive back in.

Difficult to separate fact from fiction, but there is growing murmurs of support from Tajikistan for the NRF to include troops for the NRF and airbases to operate out of.

Bernard-Henry Levy a western journalist posted the following image from 9-9-2021 to show that Ahmad Massoud is still alive and operating in Panjshir. Interesting unit patch.

Indeed its hard to separate fact from fiction, but going on a limb this is fiction .
I do not think Tajikistan wants to get involved in the Afghan war, and definitely not with a nonentity like Massud Jr . News is being fabricated by ghouls like BHL, the picts are 1 year old made in September 2020, when BHL was cheerleading for couple decades more in Afghanistan

Bernard-Henry Levy AKA BHL is not a journalist but , an absolute piece of shit , notorious war-mongering ghoul ,one of the cheerleaders that almost singlehandedly staged the war on Libya ,guy has actual influence to push, silver spoon jew worth 150mio $. There is literally no war he doesn't advocate for and he flys into warzones on business jets with whole entourage to profile himself. Absolute POS

This is definitely a character that would deserve a ............ between his eyes and then some.

As for Massud and his group just because POS like BHL inflated him and his group that doesn't make it real, bubble burst as soon as Taliban rolled in .

Thanks for the check. It seemed suspicious that he could get messages out while Ahmad Massoud could not.

Can anybody spell 'Stinger Missile'?

Looks like the Taliban are professionally trained and augmented by Pak teams and Peer 2 intelligence support. They are able to mount, sustain, and direct Brigade size operations across large areas.

Those light infantry dismounts in company sized are hard to deal with without the ability to surge logistics and do the same level of operational capacity and coordination. You have to hit those trains early, win the recon battle, and have a layered strategy.

the Taliban have a huge logistics advantage and can sustain heavy rates of fire given their control of the bases. It will be very hard to oppose them when you have just a few units of fire on hand. And their light touch and willingness to cut deals makes it hard to unify.

You can speculate that or just maybe there was not much fight in the Panjshir militias. Media amping them up doesn't make it real , as far as we can see Taliban rolled them up in no time even tough terrain heavily favors the defender

Claims that there were 6k defenders, turned false ,Taliban knew its BS. Find a picture where they muster more than a couple of dozen.I searched and i couldn't find one picture that would have 50 men on it , Which tells a story that even at the posturing stage where they could inflate the numbers with locals they couldn't muster any real numbers.

Just as likely it was one of their intended war chests to fund the resistance. The immediate assumption of its intent for personal use is more indicative of the bias of the reporting agency.

It is equally reasonable to declare that the now seized ammo stash was indicative of Saleh's nefarious intent to join PRS competitions in the near future.

I could write an entire dissertation on whats going to happen next, but Ill try and keep it short.

What you are seeing now, is not what anything will look like a month to six months from now. To an extent, this has all already happened before where 3 main 'groups' split up Afghanistan. You are also going to be seeing the Taliban fight each other in the not so far future. Taliban, ISIS, AQ, etc are all generalizations. It's almost like calling someone French because they're from France, but that's it. In reality, they basically don't like each other at baseline. Right now is the honeymoon period. That will end soon.

We saw it happen on a constant basis and used to call them the 'flavor of the month club' because they all have completely different and conflicting ways of life, ideologies and all sorts of shit. Then some guy would take his ball, 50 loyal fighters and go start the 'super camel jihad brotherhood' that was way more extremest/fundamentalist than whatever they were just part of. We'd usually figure out there was a new one popping up when there would be a big spike in VBIEDs and 'martyr' type suicide bombings all of a sudden in one area.

There's still tribalism after 1000+ years for a reason there. All its going to take is for the new car smell to wear off and then someone not being happy with whoever is in charge at the time because they're 'not muslim enough'. There will be infighting, splintering and all sorts of shit. They will fight for control of cities and logistical areas. One tribe wants retribution on another, and it just goes from there.
Damn German… you make them sound like savages.

They needed some PR , to get the next palets of cash from US and more importantly they need Panjshir residents on their side

I had the same thoughts. The day the foot soldiers smashed it, they ordered repairs from Kabul. I was thinking it would be a month, or at least weeks. Nope. Next day express service?

Perhaps the Taliban need to sit in on a hip pocket cultural awareness class.

Also, any information on the supposed bomb attack that killed several Taliban leaders?

Honestly Afghanistan its slowly slipping from the media scape only ones left with obsessive reporting seem to be the Indian media

While everyone seems to wish things blow up in Taliban faces ASAP , i think its still too soon for that and folks really underestimate the support the Taliban have in the population. Fiction from State department PR offices over the past 20y is just that fiction that doesn't necessarily reflect the reality on the ground

Series of IEDs targeted Border Police vehicles, supposedly at least 3 killed, but no mention of any Taliban leadership involved in any way. Jalalabad is ISIS-K stronghold so expect things to be hot for foreseeable future.
