Damn, I don't understand how there can be such a large swing in time from approval to forms received.

methos12: approved march 4, received April 1: Almost a full month lag?

That was partly my fault and partly my dealer. He is slammed with work and received mine by mail sometime prior to that but I didn't call the ATF to see what my status was until late in the month (giving exactly 6 months). When I found out it had been approved nearly 3 weeks prior I called my dealer, but he had been out of town for a week so the 1st was the first time we were both available. I wouldn't have had time to hit the range prior to that anyway so it worked out.

6 Months and 4 days was the final tally. They are finally home safe.

Maybe this is wishful thinking, but any Nov pending dates getting approved form4s ?

My Form1s were exactly 5 months and 1 wk from pending -> approved. This was in Oct (pending) to Mar (approved & in hand).

The Error was due to me printing out 2 one sided pages rather then double sided. I was able to get it all corrected and sent out express mail within a day or so of receiving it. Completly my fault I should have read through all the little notes on their site but luckily it worked out I have been a nervous wreck the last two weeks what-ifing wondering if I screwed something else up too lol. Now I just have ot wait on the stamp to get to my dealer hopefully before the week is out I will have my 30P-1 all mounted up.

Yeah, it's been over a month and my latest hasn't even gone pending. That is WAY worse than it used to be. I was kinda hoping it would be better this time, not worse.

- Paperwork back from sheriff April 16, 2013 (El Paso County, Colorado, sheriff's office flooded with applications for concealed carry. The last item I submitted to him was turned around in four days.)
- Mailed to NFA Branch 17 April 2013.
- Arrived Atlanta 19 April 2013.
- Check processed 24 April 2013.
- Requirement for new fingerprint cards received by dealer 4 December 2013. (This has happened before. Old, thin, dry skin equals really bad prints.)
- New cards mailed 7 Dec 2013.
- Approved Form 4 received by dealer 14 Feb 2014.
- Picked up suppressor 15 Feb 2014.

According to my math, the total time from purchase to possession is 14.5 months.

Bummer that your local sheriff office takes so long to sign off. Most of mine are done same day.


I picked up the last suppressor I was waiting on a few days ago. This is the first time since march of last year that I am not waiting on the ATF. I guess it is time to start the process again. Lol.

I have seen big gaps in transfer times in my area. I just had a pair approved in five and a half months where my buddy just got one back the other month after an eight month wait, plus he had one take the same time last year.
