I bought a pair of these from a Hide vendor (I can't remeber who) a couple of years ago.

Howard Leight | Impact Sport Electronic Earmuff

They worked great, really liked them until I split the metal headband (my fault). After that, when I put them on, I have a piece of spring metal digging a hole in my head. I took them apart, tried the universal duct-tape fix, which failed. I called Howard Leight in CA to see if they could send me a new metal strap so I could fix it myself. The pleasant CS rep said they would get me a fix in the mail (took my address). Weeks later, nothing in the mail, so I call them today and they tell me they won't send me a band nor will they fix it if I send the muffs back to them. WTF? I'll pay for the fix or the part, but they won't do either.
Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I've had mine going on 3 years now and use them at every match, all hunting trips, and all practice. They have worked great. For the price, if they break, ill buy another pair.

I've got a plan for a fix with a piece of sheet metal and some pop-rivets. I really like the muffs better than my pletors since there is only one set of batteries and one power knob. It's supposed to rain for the next few days and that will give me the excuse I need to try for a fix. I'll probably buy another pair if the fix fails, but how hard would it be to throw a new head band in a box and mail it to me? It bugs me on principle alone.
