Rebarrel a Win 70 recommendations

I'm looking to re-barrel a long action 70 which had a pencil thin barrel with a new target barrel in either 300 win mag or 7mm mag.

I'm looking for recommendations on barrel makers who make and fit / install them.

I sent mine to Pac Nor a couple of times. I got #8 straight tapers both times. Wouldn't go that heavy again. I was pleased with their customer care and turnaround time.

Most smiths will barrel a winnie. Just pick your poison, give a call and ask. The only thing appreciably different from a remmy is the coned breech and extractor cut.

I'd suggest GAP. Moon did a great job on my M70, I couldn't be happier!

Moon at GAP did a fine job on mine also.
I just bought a barreled action that Mark at SAC did and the workmanship is great, he does Winchesters also.
