I realize this has been covered in the past but it’s been a few years.

Regular SP10s now come with (via Seekins)
-updated heavy barrel .875 (same as M)
-updated +1.5 gas
-Magpul PRS stock.

I’ve had a regular SP10 in 6.5cm on order, through Eurooptics for 3 months now. Looks like they added the ability to “Reserve” a few of the M models.

Given the price difference, roughly $1,400, is the extra QC and attention to each rifle worth the squeeze? Or is the regular SP10 the way to go, with the new upgrades, for us folk that might change a trigger, stock, etc in the future? ….and buy more ammo😃

Buy a used SP10. Throw the barrel, gas block, buffer, spring, and BCG in the trash. Replace with a custom barrel, gas block, and JP guts. Best you can get. The barrel is going to make 85% of the difference. You just need to find someone that knows truly accurate gas gun barrels. If you need a rec, PM me. I'll connect you.

6 one way 1/2 dozen the other. Order the M, wait, and feed it ammo when it arrives. Or, find a used SP10, shoot & enjoy it now, upgrade as you see fit. I went the latter and found a good deal on a used SP10 6.5cm. It came with the dual-ejector bolt and +2 gas system, still has the single spring buffer system. I've only swapped out the Timney for a MBT-2S and it shoots fantastic. The only other change I've considered is swapping to the select-adjustable gas block.

I’ve got a regular SP10 on order right now, been waiting about 3 months which is crazy for the production model. Got a good deal on it through Eurooptic at the time. Had them quote me an “M” model the other day it was close to $1,800 more all said and done. Crazy in my opinion! Good looking rifle btw!

What barrel are you running in your rifle? Crazy good groups!

It's a Mullerworks blank in Heavy Varmint I had a friend/gunsmith buddy of mine built. It took us about 6 weeks to put the barrel together as we went through three different barrel extensions to get one that fed 140 hybrids reliably and without messing up the tips and scratching the ogive. Friction fit gas journal, port cut, in the groove and for my assembled rifle with my NRL Hunter load. He did a fantastic job and I'm pretty psyched about it. He left as much meat in the barrel as possible. I can PM you his deets if you're looking to get one made

So I became interested in an AR10 platform that shoots 6.5 Creedmoor and that brought me to the touted SP10M and SP10. I head over to their website to learn specs and retail costs etc. Very disappointing and really just absent the technical information for a 4k rifle that is supposed to be great. I emailed Seekins through the website and voiced my criticism and asked for a comparison between the two. I wanted to share what I learned here with all of you that may not know what you're really getting. Tyler at Seekins stated:

SP10M comes out of our custom shop and can be purchased directly through Seekins, whereas the SP10 is a production rifle and must be purchased through a dealer.

The SP10 is our production large frame AR platform rifle. It receives extensive testing but is just a production rifle that gets cleared and passed through our QC team. The rifle still comes with our 100% Lifetime Warranty and Satisfaction guarantee. The rifles are not accuracy tested before they leave but in the event the performance is not to your satisfaction or standards, we will pay to have the rifles brought in and accuracy tests performed to ensure that your rifles are in tip top shape!

The SP10M, has extensive testing performed all the way down to the parts selection. We handpick the components that will eventually all come together to complete that rifle. The components are measured before and after coating processes to further reconfirm the fitment and finish. The SP10M is currently being fielded for the US SOCOM Operations Tier 1 and Tier 2 units. We have tested both military issued ammunition and high-quality factory match ammo. The rifle is tested for accuracy before it leaves with high quality ammunition, each rifle receives a 60-round break in at the bare minimum

The SP10 comes with our low-profile adjustable gas block: https://seekinsprecision.com/parts-accessories/gas-gun-parts/low-profile-adjustable-gas-block.html

The SP10M comes with our select adjustable gas block: https://seekinsprecision.com/parts-accessories/gas-gun-parts/select-adjustable-gas-block-876.html

Below are the options we offer for our SP10M. Cost is $4200, regardless of configuration.

Rifle 1 – 0011300101 - F Caliber: .308WIN Barrel Length: 16” (1:11.25) Gas System: Mid Length Gas Tube, Select Adjust Gas Block (.875") Stock: 6 Position Adjustable (42 coil single spring buffer system) Trigger: Trigger Tech AR Competitive (3.5lbs fixed) Color: FDE/BLK

Rifle 2 – 0011300103 – F Caliber: .308WIN Barrel Length: 18” (1:11.25) Gas System: Intermediate Length Gas Tube, Select Adjust Gas Block (.875") Stock: Magpul PRS Gen 3 Trigger: Trigger Tech AR Competitive (3.5lbs fixed) Color: FDE/BLK

Rifle 3 – 0011300105 – F Caliber: .308WIN Barrel Length: 22” (1:11.25) Gas System: Extended Rifle Length Gas Tube, Select Adjust Gas Block (.875") Stock: Magpul PRS Gen 3 Trigger: Trigger Tech AR Competitive (3.5lbs fixed) Color: FDE/BLK

Rifle 4 – 0011300107 – F Caliber: 6.5 Creedmoor Barrel Length: 22” (1:8) Gas System: Extended Rifle Length Gas Tube, Select Adjust Gas Block (.875") Stock: Magpul PRS Gen 3 Trigger: Trigger Tech AR Competitive (3.5lbs fixed) Color: FDE/BLK

Please let me know what further questions you may have!

I followed up with a couple more critical questions that really are of utmost importance and that were not shared by Tyler; What is the barrel material and manufacturer and their projected life for 6.5 CM? How is the gas block affixed to the barrel? Tyler responded promptly and did not disclose the barrel manufacturer, but said it is SS 416r, 3000 rds or so, and the gas block is affixed with a set screw that is dimple in the barrel.

Yes a dimpled barrel with a set screw for gas block installation. We'll I heard all I needed to know. A 4k rifle with 3000 rd barrel life and a set screw attached gas block? Moving on, and will stick with the Scar 20s 6.5 CM. Maybe just go DD5 V5. Truly a top notch durable accurate rifle.

Man, this take is wild. Seekins is top tier and the SP10 is insanely accurate — anyone who’s actually shot one knows that.

416R stainless is standard for precision barrels, and 3k rounds for 6.5 CM is totally normal for that level of accuracy. The dimpled set-screw gas block isn’t some “budget” move either — it’s what tons of high-end rifles use.

Tyler’s explanation made perfect sense: SP10 = production rifle with tight QC and lifetime warranty, SP10M = custom shop build with handpicked parts and full accuracy testing. Both are proven, and the M is literally being fielded by SOCOM units.

You can’t knock a rifle you’ve never shot just because the website didn’t spoon-feed you specs. Seekins rifles perform, and that’s why the Reddit crowd shredded this exact post already.

Read this clearly, take the Seekins IV out of your vein, and take off your Seekins hat. And then read my post again. The beginning is the search for information of which I should NOT have to do. And of which I still was not told the barrel manufacturer but moving on. I then lastly gave my experienced and knowledgeable opinion of which I am entitled. You or no one has the final say and you can drop the mic all you want and walk off thinking you know better and falsely believing a set screw gas block and a unknown secret barrel that lasts 3000 rds is just perfect because everyone says it is because that's a standard. Yeah it's sad, a very low standard. I reiterate, I am sticking with the Scar 20 and if and when DD gets back to me on the DD5 status of whether they are pinning their blocks, like they always have, they too may have succumb to a lower standard. But definitely not with their barrels at least. This is heading toward Geissele if I am going AR10. It will never be a disposable rifle that's for sure.

Your alternatives are lacking the most important features that you should really be concerned about. A semi monolithic upper. None of that other stuff you're worried about matters as much. I don't think the majority of the components Seekins uses are all that special. I just bought the SP10 builders kit for the bones of the frame and put my own BCG, buffer system, custom barrel and trigger in it. I'm sure all their components are good quality and done right even if they're not groundbreaking parts, but neither is Daniel Defense. I have one DD and it's the most overpriced run of the mill AR. But if you're into SCARs I'm probably just wasting my breath.
