Looking into getting a bino/range finder combo and I have a pair of Steiner Merlin 8x42's im really happy with and a Leica 1200. It just would be nice to consolidate to one package.

Does anyone have first hand experience compairing the glass between the Merlins and Fuisons?

Thanks Brett

for the $$ nothing will come close to the range finding of the 1600 fusions.. i have ranged out to 1800+ on trees

the glass aint bad, its clear and sharp, but has a green tint

Re: Steiner Merlin Glass vs Bushnell Fuison ARC 1600?

Ive had the fusion 1600's for over a year now. Ive ranged out to ~1200yds with them. I carry them just about everyday from September to April. They have performed very nicely, but the glass is just "ok". It has a noticeable green tint to it. You don't notice it so much unless your looking through both the binos and your rifle scope. Then it's very obvious. The green tint seems to be centralized in the center portion of the lenses. If you look to the edges of the glass, you can notice the the green fades and the natural colors are present and dominant.

Basically, they work and work well, but don't expect them to compare to a pair of Swaro's.
