Two part question, I have a custom built .308

coming in sometime in December on an AI chassis. But want to build my own Magnum option for windy days. I already have 7mm Rem Mag Dies for my hunting rifle so I am thinking of going that route but also tend to think a 300 win mag will give me a decent advantage over the 7. What do you guys think, is there a big enough real world advantage to going to the 300?

And two, someone posted a site the other day that sales Stevens actions all by themselves for about $235 dollars? I was traveling and did not bookmark the post, can someone help me with that?

I think the 7mm bullets have a better BC, therefore offering better long range performance.

Learn to shoot the .308 and you can shoot it on windy days, too.
