My dad dug out an old scope from WWII that was on his mauser VZ24 before he rebuilt the gun back when he was a gunsmith. Here are the specs for the scope:

2.5-7x with about a 36mm objective and a 26(yes 26)mm tube diameter. The reticle is an old number 1 in the ffp. The markings on it are faded so we can't tell the brand but the design does look like an old ass S&B fucked a Hensoldt and made a baby scope.

Anyway I am trying to find somewhere that could rebuild/ refurbish this thing hopefully in time as a gift for my dad this year. Any help would be great.

A picture might help with identifying it. I see you're in Pendleton; might consider taking it over to Duncan's Gunworks (in San Marcos; easy to get to using the San Luis Rey gate, and down College Blvd, and Santa Fe Rd).

Ask for Laslo (Hungarian gunsmith there). Laslo has worked on quite a few guns, and in particular, apprenticed in Europe. He might be able to tell what you have just by looking at it. A real nice guy and a very gifted gunsmith (as in "artist" gunsmith; not a part swapping armorer gunsmith), who has quite a breadth of experience with both American and European firearms and their accessories.

Just a thought...
