Why don't we all send an email to Lapua demanding N570, 560 etc…

It seems, Snipers Hide has be come an authority in the shooting sports. There are very notable and respectable people within the industry that post here. If we all send an email to Lapua informing them of the demand, maybe they would respond with more haste in production. Granted, their military contracts may outweigh civilian sales but even 8% is huge. Another point, does the military really shoot more than civilians, I would say no. Some of you guys go through thousands of rounds a week.

Not trying to rain on your parade here, but given the fact the 100 series powders that have come into the country have been over 36.00 a lb, how much do you expect to pay for 500 series?

The last 550 I bought from Precision came in at 42.00 a lb. Granted total order size played on this, but you can bet it wont be listed at 33.50 like Powder Valley shows today. I know I'm going to need one special and specific application to pay 40.00+.

Quit yer bitchin'! I picked up another 1lb container of N570 from my local gun shop here in Wellington and it was NZD$99 (which is roughly USD$80). We don't have the same level of shortages as CONUS as there are only 4.5 million people here in NZ, but shit's at least twice the cost.

I've been looking for some pistol powder I use in my race gun. I sent a question to Lapua and got a response saying the particular type of powder would be on the "April container" from Finland and due to be distributed in the US late May to Early June. Not exactly what I wanted to hear but at least now I can be looking for it.

So what are you shooting these powders in? There must be some powder that IMR/Hodgdon/Alliant makes that will work just as well?

I shoot 570 in a 338 LM with a 32 inch pacnor. H1000 is too fast, i cant find retumbo, 7828 is too fast, magnum is terrible in accuracy, 869 is decent but huge temp variations, havn't tried H50bmg, and I have 3 lbs of RL33 but still need to wait on a day with less wind than we are having now. A few weeks ago, 570 allowed for a 3.78 inch 1000 yard 3 shot group and 9/10 on a 18 inch plate at 1850. I just cant image better than that. Who knows, maybe RL 33 will be my new magical powder. I sure hope so.

Ryguy, RL 33 replaced 570 in a friends 300 Norma mag, does fine, RL 25 may suit your needs too, seems to be a higher energy powder.
I love 570, and 550 also, but can really no longer afford it. Heck, I just got 24lbs of 570 to a guy in Vegas. Down to about 8 lbs.

For me, cost should never be a reason not to pull the trigger, but the price of 570 would be the start of my downfall!
