WTF Ford?

I’m mixed on this. Seems like discs are the right direction but my 02 Tacoma has 300k on it, and the rear brakes have never needed servicing. Original shoes and wheel cylinders. As far as I can recall the e-brake has never needed adjusting. Hard for me to argue with that.

I dislike drum brakes, but having dealt with frozen pistons and slider pins on the rear discs from every manufacturer, I understand why they are still used on the rear axle of pickup trucks.

Meet Lenard the big gray retard.
He’s got the small gas motor, but essentially the same running gear as the previous gen of diesel trucks, exception smaller tranny but with lower 1st gear and I ain’t got shit to pull. E lock rear diff and a 10” d60 with a spool in front. Manual hubs and windows. Vinyl interior. Otd 40k.

It’s over built so hopefully I wont break shit and have to walk, which sucks to have your vehicle chained to a tree on the side of a mtn and have to walk back home carrying a knuckle and Hub assembly.

it is however 40” to long and 2000lbs to heavy. Oh well.

I just want someone to bring back the AMC Gremlin.

Give this stupid crossover craze a few more years, and we'll come back around to it (the Gremlin eventually became the Spirit, which led to the actually-kinda-cool Eagle, and that is pretty much the forefather of the modern crossover).
