Rifle Scopes Leupold mk5hd 2-10 vs USO FDN 10X(1.8-10) for SPR

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a MPVO for 5.56 SPR, I will use reddot for 1x, so don't really care about the performance under 3x. I narrowed down my choice to Leupold mk5hd 2-10 vs USO FDN 10X, however there is barely a review of those two on the net.
Looking for insights from anyone handled either of them, Thanks!

AR15 accuracy issues

Hi everyone, I'm looking for advice on an AR15 that I can't get to shoot. It's about 1.25-3MOA and very inconsistent. It's chambered in 6 ARC and it's a home build. I'm also not claiming to be an expert shooter but I've built 3 other AR15s and one AR10 that all shoot less than 1 MOA.

The rifle in question originally had a Shaw barrel and had the same issues. I tried disassembling and reassembling making sure everything was torqued correctly etc. I finally replaced the barrel with a Proof stainless barrel but I'm still having finicky results. I've got about 60-80 rounds on the new barrel.

Any suggestions on what I should check next? It does seem to have a little bit more vertical dispersion than horizontal so I'm almost wondering if it could be something in the handguard, barrel nut upper receiver chain. I have tried to put consistent pressure on the bipod, so off that's the issue, then this gun is far more sensitive than any other I have.

Other parts are BCM stripped upper receiver. Alexander arms bolt, Areo precision handguard. Aero lower parts kit, aero adjustable gas block, geissele SSA-e trigger, and Primary arms 4-14 R-Grid scope.

WTF is wrong with people today?

Seeing more and more of this crap everyday. Pop was a captain with TWA in the 50's-60's so we flew a lot. This was unheard of in the day

Firearms WTS 1874 Sharps one of a kind TIGER STRIPED Maple - The original kind of long range gun!

This is a Pedersoli replica of the 1874 Sharps rifle chambered in 45-70. Gun is brand new in box.

I will tell you, I have handled many of these and these and none of them have ever had figured wood like this! They normally pull these striped and Birds Eye maple as limited release when the wood is this nice. I took the photos on my wood desk and it still shows that this is worlds above normal gunstock wood!

Normally these sell for $4199, but I need this one gone so I am letting it go for $3000 shipped to your FFL.

You have this listed as an FFL on Gunbroker so if a business you will need to upgrade to a Commercial account.

Buying a .308 semi. What do I have to consider other than a SCAR 17?

I'm going to be buying one in early '24.

This will be a do-it-all rifle. Most pragmstic use is probably hog hunting, hopefully. Potentially deer as well. Definetly range fun. If we ever need to evac because of a storm, this rifle will come with me. I want a 16" barrel (or rather, not wanting to mess with a stamp on the rifle itself), and would like to get a suppressor most likely. Haven't begun that rabbit hole yet.

I spent some time with a SCAR 17 with the Geisselle trigger and really, really enjoyed it. Just fit me ergonomically well, I liked the recoil impulse, felt great in my hands. I shot it well, for me. That's my default choice. The silliness with F&N not wanting cans on them is a big turnoff, however.

I've screwed around with a couple B&T APC308s at a couple stores. They're obviously well put together but the ergonomics didn't feel as good as the SCAR, or maybe it was the balance --- Just didn't feel as natural in my hands. I don't think I'd get a chance to shoot one prior, either, so I think I've eliminated this as an option.

I haven't held or shot any of the higher end AR10s, but I wouldn't be adverse to that route. KAC would be out of the price range.

CZ afaik has no plans to being the 308 Bren 2 here.

Don't want a bullpup, so no Tavor.

Are there any guns I need to consider/put hands on?

SOLD GAP Crusader .308 Catch and release

Gents,
I just received this one after buying it here on the Hide. Here is the OP,

I have been bitten by the AI bug, and it’s a bad bite. So I am offering this one back up for sale, OR trade for a ZCO 4-20 in MPCT2 or 3X. Looking for what I have into it, $3500 + the ride. I really need the glass, so if you have one of the ZCO’s just collecting dust, LMK and we can make a deal. First to post takes it. No other trades at this time.

Thanks for looking,

Lapua .223 Brass Broke in Half

Wondering if anyone has encountered a situation like this...

I bought some Lapua brass for my .223. I have reloaded this brass 5 times. My reloading process includes, de-prime, anneal, wet tumble, full resize, mandrel, prime, and load. After the 5th firing, I found one of my brass broke in half in the wet tumble. Later, when i got to the mandrel stage, i found four of my brass collapsing at the shoulder. At this point, i retired the whole batch of 50 Lapua Brass due to safety concerns.

As for the loads themselves, I am running 24.3gr of IMR 8208 in order to push 80gr Berger VLDs at 2940fps. My barrel is a 1:7 twist at 28" bull barrel. I observe my brass after each firing and have never seen any signs of over pressure. When the brass is ejected after firing, it is barely warm at all.

I have other brass from Lapua and Peterson for my 6.5 creedmoor. I am able to get up to 10 loads from each. But for my .223 Lapua Brass, it seems i am lucky to get 5 reloads.

Any thoughts?

Looking for an accurate compact bolt gun in .308

I'm coming from a somewhat heavy .308 gas gun, getting a little older, so I'm looking to cut weight and overall size. I'm heavily invested in .308 reloading equipment, so I'm not looking for a caliber change.

Obviously, the Tikka T3x CTR seems like the ideal rifle. sub-MOA accuracy in most tests, 7.4pd for the bare rifle, 20" barrel is a nice length. I'm not a fan of barrels shorter than 20" for .308.

For due diligence, I've been looking around for other rifles in the Tikka weight/performance class, and just not finding them. There are precision rifles galore, but most are 10# and heavier, with 22" to 26" barrels. So just to be sure I'm not missing a contender, I'm asking here for other possible rifle systems in the same sub-10pd range. I would be comfortable up to $3000 dollars if the other rifle was proven to out shoot the Tikka system.

Rifle Scopes Problem with Arken Optics USA

So on the 23rd of Nov. I placed my order for a Arken rifle scope from Arken Optics USA. Promptly got my Card used by Arken and a couple of days later I was notified that the Scope had shipped and I was given the tracking #. On the 28th I checked the tracking # and say that ONLY a label was printed. Checked each day up to today and still shows that only a label has been printed.
Customer service is virtually non existant but I finally got a message that the order had been shipped.
So today I check and the tracking # now is a invalid #.
I ordered rings and bubble level after I ordered the Scope (a couple of days later) and received the rings and level today.
I was planning on shooting with the new scope in a match on Monday with my brother, but the Osprey scope will have to be put back into service for that.
Really pisses me off when a retailer bills my CC before a product ships.
