If you've been scammed by Scott Berish Liberty Optics

If you believe Scott has scammed you, you can call Flathead County Sheriffs Office at 406-758-5610 and file a police report. You can do it by phone and it will be assigned to a deputy to investigate.

Here is the the best info available for filing the report which is listed on the business:

Scott Joseph Barish
Liberty Optics LLC
Montana License # C1240018

Premises address:

SCOTT BERISH
74 E NICKLAUS AVE
KALISPELL, MT 59901-5990

Mailing Address:

PO BOX 1713
KALISPELL, MT 59903

The premises address may be incorrect but it's what is listed on the states website from his documentation. That address doesn't come back to him on anything I've been able to pull up but the SO will be able to track him down via the PO Box however since a valid government ID is required for opening one.

You will need a statement as well as proof of payment. If you have communication from Vortex or another manufacturer or distributor confirming that your order was not placed with them you will want to include that as well. This can be done via email or mail. Include as much information as you can. Screen shots from his sale thread around and after the time your order was placed will also be beneficial to include in your report.

I'm not an attorney and this is not legal advice, but filing a false police report is a crime and everyone should keep that in mind. You should only file a report if:

A. You have paid Scott, those funds have been debited from your account and you have not received your order and there is no record of your order with the distributor.

B. You have paid Scott, those funds have been debited from your account and you have not received your order and there is an order in with the distributor but they have confirmed it will not be shipped out due to lack of payment from Liberty Optics.

You should also file a charge back with your credit card company even if you believe it's beyond the timeline to do so.

The contact information for the contact at Vortex handling the matter on their end is Shamus Terry [email protected] 608-335-4486. This is where you can find the status of your order or if there's an order.

If Burris, Leupold, Sig or any others are involved in his mess if anyone would like to provide the contact information for them (with their permission) I can add it to this post.

I hope this helps and that everyone can recover their losses but my guess is there's going to be some folks taking hits on this.

Solid trigger for all round use

So I’m finishing up an A.R. 15 build, just need to get a few more parts. Debating on which trigger I want to use. This is going to be more or less a defensive rifle but I do go to classes and I do compete in the tactical games here and there.

The primary uses going to be defensive use though. For that purpose, which direction would most of y’all go for triggers?

I know the majority like Geissele and the number one trigger on my list is the SSP. But I like having options so that I’m not cornered into a single choice. Other ones on my list are the Triggertech duty 3.5lbs flat shoe. But I know some say other TT AR triggers have a super soft reset. Another is the Larue MBT-2S with JP springs.

Only other AR trigger I’ve used is an SSA, some experience is limited.

Recommend the most American made 30-06 for an elk hunt

Odds are pretty good I'm going elk hunting next year. I've got plenty of rifles, but most of them are geared towards the tactical or competition side and not really setup to be lightweight going up and down steep hills. On the one hand, this is going to be a gun that might end up sitting under a tarp with me in the rain for days on end. On the other hand this could be something that pops an elk on day 1 if I have beginners luck and then it's back in the safe. I'm a veteran and go to rifle competitions usually finishing in the top third of a match. I know everyone on the internet says they can shoot, and I won't say I'm the best by any means, but I'm a competent shot. For the purposes of a hunt, I'd be putting a limit on myself of 500 yards max.

*I'm kinda stuck on the 30-06. I have just always had a soft spot in my heart for it. I know there's bigger and better cartridges, but the 30-06 and I go way back.

*I'm torn between something with bombproof durability like an old ruger paddle gun, vs something in a walnut stock that will have the nicks and scratches of a well worn hunt that will also be a beautiful rifle to hand to my son or grandsons some day.

*I've never had a controlled round feed rifle, so I'm attracted to that more out of curiosity than anything else. I could take it or leave it though because I've ran a bolt action enough times to know a push feed is just fine.

*I'm trying to limit the rifles I'm looking at to an all American classic type of rifle. Something that's built in the USA and always has been. At first I was thinking of a Winchester 70, then realized where they're made. Then I got thinking of a Browning, then realized where they're made now too. Is there a factory option besides a Ruger that fits what I'm looking for? Nothing against Ruger, I'm just trying to look at all my options.

*I understand that a there's nothing more American than a custom rifle, and if I did that I like the looks of the foundation micarta stocks in some combination of a barreled action that can be at 7# ish without scope.

Thoughts?

SH @ The Precision Rifle Expo

This coming weekend is the Precision Rifle Expo down in Texas, Sniper's Hide will be attending and hosting a clinic.

Screenshot 2023-10-17 at 9.05.19 AM.png

I really like the Expo, sure the weather has sucked the last few years, but hopefully this time they nailed it. But it's a perfect place for the precision rifle shooter. Great companies displaying, live fire, hands on with products. Open to everyone, it's everything Shot Show isn't.

Right now we are working a new class style for 2024, so I will be trying out some new devices for the Clinic. After 10 years on my own with Marc and the years prior with Rifles Only I think I have this marksmanship thing sorted out better so I want to try it.

Gravity Ballistics Intro too

Hope to see you all there

SOLD *NEW* Ohio Ordnance M240B Beltfed 7.62 in factory Pelican with DIBS on M80A1 Belted Ammo!

**NEW** M240B in factory Pelican with original factory barrel and buttstock AND dimpled Lima barrel and upgraded 6-position buffer tube/stock.

Brand New, less than 20 rounds on factory barrel and ZERO rounds on dimpled LIMA barrel.

This 240 is SEMI-AUTO, but as most of you probably know it is extremely easy to convert this to full auto with very little effort, obviously provided you are an legit SOT or have an unquenchable desire to face-off with an MRAP full of kitted AFT Glitteratti.

The only belted ammo I have in 7.62 is M80A1 (4/1 tracer MIL linked), so I didn’t want to burn through much of it since it’s so pricey and I also didn’t want to destroy my AR500 plates.

I paid $14K for the gun, plus another $2500 for the LIMA upgrade kit — dimpled barrel, 6-position buffer tube and Magpul stock, Magpul bipod (original bipod is better, so I never swapped them, but the Magpul is lighter and more compact). With shipping I have nearly $17K into this Party Crasher.

This sale include BOTH barrels, BOTH stocks and BOTH bipods.

Buyer gets DIBS on belted Unobtanium M80A1 and other exotic ammo. $13,500 shipped with $2,500 Lima kit.

We leave this Friday for a couple of weeks in Italy and Greece (20-OCT - 06-NOV), so we’ll need to close the deal by early this Thursday or wait until we get home.

Man's body in front yard mistaken for Holloween prop

Landscaper mowed around it. Not funny. Wait, yes it is.

When asked why he didn't call police, the landscaper said in Spanish "It's not my job." When questioned further he shrugged and said "I don't know. Maybe someone he try to rob me...I dunno."
