Lifetime moose hunting trip

Two of our friends just came back from a once in a lifetime moose hunting trip to Newfoundland, Canada. The two brothers spent a week hunting these giants and after seeing more than 150 moose in this infinite territory, they finally laid down their Leupold crosshair on these two monsters. Both were shot with a brand new Cadex CDX-R7 CRBN (Carbon Fiber Barrel) 300 PRC rifle, one at 250 meters and the other at an impressive 435 meters. The hard hitting 300 PRC dropped both moose with a single well-placed round!

These guys are pretty hard-core hunters and they claim this is the nicest hunting trip ever, so it tells a lot about this unique area. Congratulation to them and thanks for the beautiful pictures.

Suppressors Suppressor Warranty Experience?

Well I had a suppressor blow up on me yesterday. Silencerco Harvester 300, shooting 300wm well above their minimum barrel requirements, factory ammo, all that stuff. It was weird because the suppressor was on tight, wasn’t hot or anything, was clear of obstructions because I happened to check it when I switched it onto this rifle, and had been used on that rifle many times in the past with no issues. Filled out their forms and got an RMA number to send it off tomorrow, that experience has all been very pleasant. My question is what to expect once it’s there.

The bullet passed through the tube which is serialized, I’m assuming this means I go back on the waitlist and have to buy a new stamp right?

The other thing is that the Harvester 300 has been discontinued a couple years now so I don’t really know how they could replace it unless they have some extras lying around. Any of y’all dealt with this situation before?

Obviously it sucks being right before deer season and everything, but the way that bullet exited makes this one of those times I’m just glad nobody got hurt because it definitely could have been much worse. Been super happy with my other silencerco products and now dealing with their customer service it’s been a top notch experience too. I’m just curious what’s going to happen when they get it.

Rifle Scopes Scope Leveling Question

Got my MPA PMR Pro II with the new CDG action. I’m getting ready to install a scope but as I started checking level, I noticed that built in picatinny rail is out of level with the built in level.

IMG_2956.jpeg

How should I proceed here? I think it would make sense to adjust the rifle to level with the receiver rail but then the chassis level will be out of level. Opionions?

Thanks!

Dedicated subsonic bolt gun

So I am fully prepared to be flamed for this, but here I go..... I'm wanting to build a bolt gun, subsonic only- with suppressor, for use out to 150-200 yds. Eventually this will get topped with a thermal optic and used for "critter" control around the house (10ac). I had been planning on ruger ranch in 300 blk, but the 8.6 has my attention. I already have a silencerco Hybrid. Idealy this would bring down whitetail sized game, but I know thats a stretch. What other calibers should I be looking at? Anybody with real world 8.6 performance? It almost seems too good to be true.

Thanks
Jake

Ammo supply is not looking good

Just a quick heads up. I've bought ammo from a very reputable family business for years. Something started happening ~six days ago.

Their orders jumped 500 percent from their normal daily orders in a span of five days. So, they sent me a warning email 3-days ago. I'm stocked up so I ignored it. It seems that the recent events in the middle east, and our commitment to helping Israel could put a really bad crimp (no pun) on ammo availability. That, OR recent demonstrations here in the USA in support of Palestinians (Hamas), might have caused an ammo buying panic. Who knows, I tend to go with the panic buying explanation because as of late last week I bought 9mm ammo and .22 rimfire and had no issues delivered in three days.

This it he latest notice on their website:

Due to extremely high order volume over the past 6 days, we are only accepting new orders for a very small selection of products, and all other products have been temporarily removed from the website. We currently have a backlog of over 12,000 orders, which is 4 to 5 days worth of work for the warehouse crew to pick, check, pack and ship. We will be offering limited selections for the next few days, and a more complete inventory after that.

I read that as follows: Their warehouse crew is overwhelmed and the volume is so high, for some specific ammunition that they have taken other products offline so they can fulfill those orders. This points to a high demand for some specific kinds of ammunition.

Your business. Your rules. You HAVE the right to not sell to potential enemy combatants. ANTIFA denied gun sale by Oregon FFL.

Great job and well done, Florence Gun Shop of Florence, Oregon, for being on the alert to enemy political affiliations and denying sales to individuals who represent a clear and active threat to the safety of America.

Regarding this ANTIFA dude: You do NOT believe in the 2nd Amendment and the US Constitution. Stop using it to try to argue about your point. You have no point. You and your ilk are a threat to this country and businesses have every individual right and choice to not sell ANYTHING to you. You want a gun? Move to Gaza or Syria.

Gun shops and private sellers are recommended to run a quick check of every potential buyer's name on social media presence. If anything funny comes up, DENY SALE. You don't owe them any explanations nor are they entitled to one.

Nah dawg... You gotta leave my store. I don't have to explain anything to you. LEAVE.

----------
FLORENCE, Ore. -- A Florence man is hoping that a gun shop owner changes his mind about doing a background check.

Mark Iannicelli says the Florence Gun Shop won't give him one, meaning he can't get the gun that he bought online when he lived in Colorado. Iannicelli said a routine background check, required to get his already purchased gun -- has turned into a major headache.

"It's because I had given him this business card, and he said he didn't feel good about it because he didn't support Antifa, and I explained to him it's more like a movement,” Iannicelli said, referring to a card he had presented to the gun store owner that included links to several websites about self defense, including one operated by a Portland-based Antifa group. “You know I have never actually gone up there and marched with Antifa, but he was adamant he wasn't going to sell me the firearm."

Iannicelli feels his second amendment right to bear arms has been violated by the Florence Gun Shop making him unable to complete his gun purchase. Iannicelli felt the shop denied his background check because of his personal business card that included a link to a website affiliated with Antifa. In addition, Iannicelli said a gun store should not be able decide whether or not to give a background check based on political affiliation.

He believes he will never be allowed back into the Florence Gun Shop following arguments with the management. Iannicelli said at the end of the day, he thinks he is being cheated by store staff.
