Have a possible job opportunity coming up in Wyoming and really want to get back into PRS and get into NRL Hunter. I have my ideal prs build in mind but that's farther down the road. I have an xray chassis already and want to get an origin in it with a barrel chambered in 6.5 prc. My budget doesn't allow for a carbon fiber barrel. So what length and contour will be best to bring me in under a 16lb weight limit while still being suitable for a suppressor? I've looked at prefered barrels, pva, and looked at different Palma contours to try and spec it out. I've got a spread sheet of component weights but the barrel is the real unknown. Does any one have any advice or experience on what length and contour would be suitable. Thanks in advance.

As the title states, Gen 2 Razor in MIL with the EBR-7C reticle sitting in a new set of PMR rings with the vortex bubble level. Scope is in great condition, has ring marks on one side. Asking $1450 bare!

Looking to up my reloading game. Been priming on my Forster Coax. It's slow, and when switching between SRP and LRP, its even slower. I haven't had any issues, but always looking to see if there are better ways to do thing.

I've been looking into either the Frankford Arsenal Platinum (pros: handheld, primer tray, adjustable depth), the 21 century (pros: all their products are great, adjustable depth, con: single primer), and primal rights CPS (pros: seems to the be cadillac of solutions, adjustable depth, cons: not handheld).

What is everyone else using and, more importantly, what/which do you recommend?

Very nice condition guide gun. Maybe 50 rounds through it total. I am the original owner since 2018. It has the Wild West guns happy tune kit installed that includes: the trigger, bear proof extractor, and the aluminum magazine follower. It also has an limbsaver air cushion buttstock that helps really reduce the recoil. Paracord around the big loop handle. Have some grovetec sling swivels that will also go with it. G'day;

I have a question about M118LR;

I have data information for both the M118LR and the Mk316 from a couple of different sources but the data isn't consistent and i'm wondering if the US Army and USMC, whilst both using M118 LR, was it varied and loaded for each branch differently?

USMC data says the M40A5 should be around 2600fps for M118LR. Dope offered up by a couple of guys i know hovers between 2575 and 2615 fps
SD/ES sits between 12 and 25 fps according to these sources.

US Army bloke i know though, says that his M24 was 2720fps with the M118LR and an SD of 8 fps and their rifles all hovered around this MV.

They both say the box says M118 LR and not Mk316.

Looking at info on the internet, RL15 loads varied from low 43s to high 44s grains for M118 LR but even in forums people are reporting varied MVs. The manual for the M40A5 states 2670fps which doesn't correspond with anything else and doesn't match dope cards.

Trying to clone the loads, I have a node at 2680 fps with Varget which is damn close to the Manuals MV. I also have a node at 2615 fps with H4895 which is close to the 2600 fps of most info out there.

Mk 316 Mod 0 is 41.75gr according to the spec sheet, but a mate of mine pulled a bullet for me and found 43gr in there?

Ack powder changed for the M118 LR over it's life, but that's a pretty big difference between what USMC states is their MV vs what the Army is using.

Can anyone shed some advice on why there's so much variation in results?

I am building a rifle for precision long range and have decided to go with 7mm-08 in a savage axis action(yes I’m aware there were better options but this is what I wanted to use) i am trying to find what barrel contour would be best? I am wanting a heavier barrel without having to carry a truck axle for a barrel. Any advice would be much appreciated, I don’t plan on doing PRS or any other competition right now because I’m new to long range in this aspect. My longest shot so far has been 350 yards.
