FIX for sale with Bartline/Tooley 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. I had Tooley cut the barrel down to 17”
and run heavy flat flutes down it.
This is a great light weight package and it runs perfect. asking $2950.00 comes with everything that it came with new in the box,
Q-Cert QD sling swivel, Knights 10rd mag, and the original box. Barrel has less than 300 rounds fired through it.
Scope and mount are available for $1550.00 with the purchase of the rifle.

Gunsmithing Barrel chambering- counter-bore

I'd be very surprised if this hasn't been covered- I didn't find it searching, but probably am using the wrong terms-

Just getting into working with the lathe and am going to chamber a few practice barrels before I go at my expensive one. I was told by a guy that he just skips the "counter-bore" when working on a 700 and does it like a Savage. He claims that it doesn't cause any issue. With just a little thinking on it I came up with a few possible issues- (other than safety in a case failure). There would be less threads engaging the action- and it would probably make single feeding more difficult.

In any case I want to do it the right way- but it did get me thinking. When you guys do a Savage or a Bighorn with a shouldered barrel do you counter-bore them or is there something preventing this from being the case. Maybe not enough threads on the action or with the savage the locking lugs may be to large to give enough room. My Origin prefit looks like it would have room for it- but wasn't done. What say you?

There ought to be an app...

That lets you push a button and electrocute scammers through the cell phone. Or shoot a poison needle into their ear.

I sell a lot of vintage audio gear and get so many of them.

Theyre so easy to spot, they use the same weak lines and always want to send you more than your price and you send some to the transportation guys, or a variation of that.

Fuck a bunch of goddamn crooks.

Suppressors TBAC ultra 9 stuck on CB Brake

Went shooting today. Pulled my 308 that’s been in the safe for a month with TBAC ultra 9 attached out and tried to take the suppressor off. Nothing. Figured what the hell went and shot today and put about 30 rounds through it, tried to take it off after heating it up with a string of 5 or 6 rounds. Nothing. Brought it home had buddy come over and hold rifle while I tried to take it off nothing. Heated it up with a propane torch and tried to take off. Nothing. Has anyone else had this happen? Any ideas? I’m going to call TBAC tomorrow and see what they say. My next thought is soaking it in penetrating oil but I assume I’d have to dunk the whole can all the way to the barrel which I’m not entirely thrilled about. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Found my old Redfield, no idea what I should use it for.

I finally found that old Redfield 5 star that I mentioned in another thread.

I can’t get a decent picture of the reticule but it’s from early to mid 90’s, so it’s practically an antique by today’s scope standards.

It’s basic crosshairs so no mil dots or anything “ fancy “. Any suggestions as to the best use for this these days? It was my fathers and I remember the death threats he would give me if he seen me messing with it so I would like to find a use for it.

Took the 33xc 3050 yards

Shot the southwest url match today. The 33xc performed very good. I on the other hand a few small issues that will not be happening again, I planned to shoot off the ground but the landscape was not going to allow for that so I had to shoot off a table only problem is all the tables were right hand cutouts. And the reason that is a problem is because I'm a left handed shooter. so I pretty much had to stand and lay across the tables. So very unstable.
I didn't have time to do proper load development so I just threw together 2 different loads. And the atips were the ones I decided on great sd and less then .5 inch group.

1760 yards
2251 yards
2680 yards
3050 yards

The atips held together very well at all distance had several hits on the first two. But the last two that inconsistencies of the table really showed up.

False accusations.

All it takes is one to turn your life upside down. Happend to me. A sick bimbo accused me of some shit that never happened and it caused a lot of grief before I got it straightened out. I actually turned the tables on her and had the police cause he even more grief. There are a LOT of very sick women out there who want to punish men, be careful.

Curious as to what everyone’s preference is. I’ve always done OCW, but after listening to a lot of the comments regarding OCW and Ladder Testing consistency / repeatability, I may give Brian’s Litz’s method of finding max pressure then backing it down 1-1.5 gns and moving on with searing depth. By max pressure I mean “signs of pressure”

New SPUHR IDEAL CHASSIS SYSTEM (SICS)

This was just posted by Spuhr. I understand the product is about "ready" to ship, as in not just a marketing trick and then wait another 2-3 years before you can actually buy it.

I hope to get a sample very soon for a Remington 700 to try it out.

What do you think about the potential?

SPUHR IDEAL CHASSIS SYSTEM™ (SICS™) Löddeköpinge, Sweden (September 6, 2021) – Spuhr i Dalby AB (Spuhr®) is introducing the Spuhr Ideal Chassis System™ (SICS™) to the North American market. Mr. Ulf Nilsson, CEO, says, “This is a project we’re extremely proud of. The Spuhr Ideal Chassis system, or ‘6’ for short, has been the company’s main focus for the past 18 months. The SICS™ was designed around the concepts of modularity, stability, innovation, and quality.” Integrating the Spuhr Interface™ into a chassis system allows the user to position accessories originally designed for the Spuhr Ideal Scope Mount System™ (ISMS™) at various positions on the rifle system, combined with an exchangeable handguard and bag rider, provides unsurpassed modularity. Machined from aircraft aluminum, with the sole synthetic parts being the rubberized pistol grip, cheek piece, and a Limbsaver® Airtech® recoil pad, the SICS™ offers an extremely rigid shooting platform. An innovative, and patented, quick-adjustable Length of Pull (LOP) allows the user to instantly adjust the LOP when shifting from one shooting position to another. The SICS™ also features LOP Presets so that the user can tailor his maximum and minimum Length of Pull. Integrated into the standard 16-inch forend is an Arca Swiss® rail for use with bipods and tripods, but even this part of the chassis still accepts Spuhr Interface™ accessories. As always, quality has been a priority, where the SICS™ does not feature any sharp edges while featuring the same high quality black anodizing known from the Spuhr Hunting Series mounts and rings (other colors will be available.) The first versions released will be for the Remington 700 and Tikka T3/T3x short action footprints, for use with AICS magazines. Pre-orders for the North American market will be accepted starting September 27th.

Might belong in the ELR forum, but here goes..

I'll admit that I probably have more time and ammo on my hands than most people. However, these days, I don't think that's such a bad thing. But, after shooting all my life, I took notice of something that has much more effect on long-range shooting than I gave it credit for. To begin with, I sometimes spend an inordinate amount of time at trying to do things with a gun that most people would call a total waste of time. But, I think that this is how you learn things.

Last week, I was running some ammo through my .22 long rifle gun, and learned that I really could hit a 20"plate at 500 yards with my setup. But, even under zero wind conditions, it was incredibly hard to do compared to 300 and even 400 yards. What was most obvious, was my groups (if you can call them that) looked tall and skinny like this:
IMG_20210904_185024430_HDR.jpg

The above is six hits out of ten shots. (The mark close to the 6-o'clock position is two hits.)

Now, at 300 yards on a 12 inch plate, I can keep them all on the plate and grouped pretty close to the middle between 1 and 2 MOA. At 400 yds on a 16" plate, it gets worse. But, at 500 on the 20" plate, it usually doesn't get any better than what you see here. But, then it occurred to me: that bullet at that distance is coming down at such a down angle, maybe close to 60 degrees. If true, the intersection of the bullet and the plate probably looks more like this:
IMG_20210904_185024430_HDR-squished.jpg

This would explain a lot when it comes to the compounded difficulty of hitting targets at extremely long ranges. According to this scenario, I'm trying to hit 40 percent less target area than what actually appears in my scope. Here are my shooting parameters:

.22 Long Rifle
Bullet Weight: 40 grain
Muzzle Velocity: 1200 fps
BC: 138
Distance: 500 yards
Zero distance: 50 yards
Holdover: 26 mills with scope mounted on a 20 MOA rail

I invite any comments on this from others who aren't as ballistically challenged as I am. This is obviously food for thought.
