There I was ...

... with a new and factory sealed 1-pound jug of Hodgdon Retumbo, happily loading some .338-LM cartridges using my Chargemaster 1500 ... when it started "clicking" just a bit. Ignored the noise for a cartridge or two, and it went away. Then when finished, I opened the valve to drain the unused powder back into the jug ... when it "stopped" with an obvious clog. Ended up pushing a little dowel up to unclog it, but it kept clogging back up. Set up a catch basin, and watched from above as I tried to clear the clog. Imagine my surprise when I found a 6mm bullet in the bottom of my powder reservoir.

The odd part about that is ... I don't own, shoot, or reload 6mm in any way, shape, or form ... and I know it came out of the Retumbo jug because I use this powder measure all the time, and fully empty it without fail when I'm done.

Anyone else ever find something "weird" in their powder jug? This is a first for me. Why couldn't it have been a Krugerrand, or a Bitcoin, or a box of Primers ...

Meanwhile In TN We Are Going In The RIGHT Direction

Sometimes it feels like I am looking out at something surreal. Yes we have those walking around with a mask but the mask Nazi Karen's aren't around my AO. My wife had several surgeries over the past year and I walked around the UT hospital without a mask and only once was anything said. I looked them in the eyes and told them to mind your own business and that ended it.
It's like living in a bubble and everything outside is crazy but inside the bubble life is pretty normal.
I was not sure about the newly elected governor but he's been good. He pushed through the constitutional carry and now this.

What protection does a buyer have using a USPS MO to purchase?

Does a buyer (me) have any protection on getting ghosted or something of that nature (misrepresented items are delivered, etc.) when paying via USPS MO?

Everything seems legit, and I don't want to sound paranoid, so I figured I'd check with the Hide peeps. I offered to do PP (even though they're anti-2A, but it offers some buyer protection) and pay the fees for buyer protection ($1200 scope purchase) but he's not a PP user. Seller seems legit. 10 year old account, 600+ post count, but no PX Feedback in his forum profile. Apparently had a ton of feedback in the old forum/system, but wasn't carried over, user name changed, something or other.
I've exchanged text messages with him, sorting out the details on the deal, questions, price negotiation, etc. Just haven't finalized it yet as far as payment is concerned.

Again, everything seems legit, I'm just hypersensitive to getting fucked in the mailbox for a grand.

USPS MO red flags, or gtg?

Purchasing from GA Precision

Hey everyone,
Beginner here so if I ask a stupid question let me know.
I'm looking to make a custom rifle as close to the M2010 as possible for training purposes. I would really like to use GA Precision to make the rig but so far contacting them has been impossible. I've called and left messages as well as emailed but have yet to recieve a call back. Does anyone have a better way of contacting them for a build or know of another company that would be able to accomplish a close clone? Here is what I've figured out so far.
-M24 action
-300wm
-Fluted barrel with m24 contour and threading for t-90 muzzle break
-Cadex lite strike

If anyone knows of a precision rifle builder besides GA Precision that could do this build let me know! Open to suggestions and information.

unbelievable..... Social Security Administration versus Concealed Carry Permits..

a little history.... I wanted to make a flight to Florida in December... however, my passport was not updated and I did not have a Pennsylvania Real ID drivers license... you need one or the other to fly, a regular picture id drivers license will not work... that was the beginning...

I look on the Pennsylvania DOT website and find that to apply for a Real ID drivers license, among other items, I need my Social Security Card.. who in the hell ever asks for that?? I only had one, from my childhood, and couldn't find it..

So, I go to the local SS office to sit in line, like the old days, in order to get a new one... It's closed to the public due to the administration COVID orders.. told that I need to fill the form out in the exterior lobby and include one photo id with my address and birth date as proof, along with the other information on the form... I have two photo ID's, my drivers license and my concealed carry permit... have to drive, so I dropped my permit in the envelope with the form and dropped it in the box for processing... the cop out front said it would be about 10 days...

30 days later, I get mail from them, and in it is my permit, but not the new SS replacement card... was told that it would come separately when I called the general SSN phone number, after waiting 40 minutes on hold... asked if I could expedite it in any way... they gave me the internal number for my local office...

I call them, and a very officious lady was on the phone, ran me through the question routine, name, ssn, address, etc... she scans my request on the computer and; "Well, you submittted a concealed carry permit as your proof of ID... we DO NOT ACCEPT THAT DOCUMENT"... after a few rounds of "tell me why?" I wind up telling her to go kiss Biden's ass and hung up...

so moral of the story... don't expect the Government to think to0 highly of your permit...

A Zero Stage Trigger, coming soon!
This has been my pet project for the past few years!
A few years ago we set out to solve a few problems with triggers:
- Reliability
- Consistency
- Accuracy
After a lot of work and engineering hours we determined that the most effective way is to introduce an electronic solenoid.
This solenoid would allow complete engagement with the sear and therefore be less prone to issues due to wear.
Because Modular Driven Technologies - MDT is not an electronics company, we partnered with Labradar. We handle the mechanical design, and they handle the electronic design.
After years of design and testing, we now have our first prototypes. And the results are spectacular!
These are the details of the Ignition Zero Stage trigger
- Zero Stage (No movement of the trigger shoe, should increase accuracy)
- Programmable pull weight, starting at 2oz
- High level of consistency
- High level of durability (pending endurance testing)
- Water/Dust resistant
- Battery life of over 1000 shots. Battery charges in 10 minutes

Here is a picture of one of the first prototypes, and some reactions of the first people that tried it out!

Our duty to our collective past

As I sit here overseas, away from home, I feel we as a country are heading to an arena rarely seen throughout history. International events, governments, and people gone awry for a multitude of reasons.

Just a reminder of the sacrifices of previous generations:

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

a powerful musical rendition of this poem by one of my favorite bands, Sabaton:

Advice Needed for Outdoor Security Camera(s)

Last October my father in law passed away suddenly. His house which is out in a rural farming area -as in flat wide open, his farm -is now being maintained by all of us. All has been well until a family friend who was plowing snow from the driveway noticed the license plates on his truck are gone. Theft is suspected. Later today local law enforcement will be meeting with my sister in law for a full report. We have been considering some type of camera system to keep an eye on things. I started sniffing around but wanted to ask members if there is any system they would recommend? Thanks as always!
