Rifle Scopes What scopes have all these features?

I am not familiar with every scope on the market. I have been searching butnthought I would also ask here. I am looking for a new scope that has as many of these features as possible:

-FFP/MRAD (obviously).
-Magnification minimum 5x, maximum 20x (preferably higher).
-Minimum fous distance of 25 yards (preferably 10 yards).
-Max weight around 36oz (preferably lighter)
-Low profile turrets that aren't too tall (will obscure rangefinder screen.)
-Locking turrets (locking or capped windage a must.)
-Illuminated reticle.
-34mm tube (35 or 36mm seems to limits mounting options.)
-About $2500 USD max price (could go a bit higher or look for a used one.)

The reticle itself should have:

-Christmas tree design (preferably a bit narrow and not really a grid.)
-Elevation numbers close to the center and lots of them.
-Minimum 4 mil of "hold under" marks above the cross hair (for use with weapon mounted LRF and holding under for close range targets at matches.)
-Markings not overly thin.
-Staggered intermediate hash marks between full mil marks.

This is the probably the best reticle I have seen for my uses, the ZCO MPCT3X:
img_1_1755127122363.jpg

These aren’t all deal breakers necessarily but I would really prefer to have all those features. Some scopes that almost meet the criteria are:

-Razor G3 (too heavy, I already own one)
-Leupold Mk5 (only 2 mil hold under with PR2 and no illumination. Also 35mm.)
-ZCO 527 (near perfect except for the price and 36mm tube.)
-Bushnell DMR3 (reticles are a bit lacking. No illumination. DMR-IIi I have is not the brightest or sharpest but not a disaster)
-Nightforce NX8 (heard complaints about the eyebox. 30mm tube.)
-Nightforce ATACR (ocular housing rotates. A bit pricey. Not crazy about the reticles.)

I may be incorrect about some of these features as that was just off the top of my head.

Thanks in advance.

Can't remove Muzzle Brake off of Ruger Gunsite

I just purchased a Ruger Gunsite in 450 Bushmaster. I cannot remove the muzzle brake. I had the barrel clamped hard in a vise. Admittedly, it was between two 2x4s but clamped down very hard. Was putting plenty of torque on it w/ an open end wrench. Hard to estimate but would guess every bit of 60 ft-lbs. Are there any tricks in removing these muzzle brakes? Called Ruger and they just said send it in, but don't want to be out of the rifle for 6 weeks.

Steiner T6Xi 2.5-15x50 (5116) on Remington 700 Police

Good day gents,
I have a Steiner T6Xi 2.5-15X50 that I am mounting on an old Remington 700 Police .308 that was manufactured in 1993. My smith thinks I am nuts for putting it on that rifle but it shoots .5ish MOA with 168-175 grain. The rifle has custom paint from years ago, done well. Harris Bi-Pod, I had the bolt handle threaded with an updated knob. Timney elete hunter trigger and it has been reamed. Has a Mathews kydex cheek riser. Nice leather Turner sling. All around it's a solid platform. I value the rifle at around $1,500 in todays market. Hell, it owes me that much. I paid $800 for it years ago. Anyway, am I missing something? I think it worthy of a Steiner. Thoughts?

Firearms GA Precision Gladius 6.5CM (Defiance Tenacity, Manners T6A build)

GAP Gladius commissioned in 2022 as a 308, but sent back to GA for a 6.5 Creedmoor barrel in 2024.
Action has about 800 rounds on the odometer (550 factory Lapua 308, 250 factory Lapua 6.5CM)
NOTE: the 308 barrel is gone, sold last year.

GAP Gladius rifle with a lot of now discontinued parts options

(pre buy out) Defiance Tenacity Action. Some of the Cerakote has flaked off the bottom of the bolt handle and dings from the ejected brass.

Manners T6A elite stock with LOP spacer system (currently 14.25") in Elite SWAMP. Action is pillar bedded with Hawkins M5 SA bottom metal. Wiebad Cheek pad on the KMW adjustable cheek piece. Front pic rail and left, bottom swivel studs

GAP Gladius #6 Bartlein 18: 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. 5R rifle 1:7.75" twist. 5/8x24" thread with Gen 2 APA Little Bastard 6.5 muzzle brake. Again, no more than 250 rounds max on this barrel of mostly Lapua factory and a few Federal GMM

Cadex DX2 Evo trigger with curved shoe. These are convertible to single or two stage. Currently 2-stage 2lbs and is by far my favorite 2 stage I have used to date.

I am including the following with the rifle:
- 3x 5-round Accuracy International AICS mags
- 2x 10-round Accuracy International AICS mags
- Defiance Action wrench

This thing has been an absolute laser with 136gr Lapua scenars with groups as small as 3/8 MOA. It's done well with 130gr Fed GMM but it REALLY liked the factory Lapua ammo. That said, I'm all out of that ammo and don't reload so someone else can do this thing justice.

Asking $4400 shipped to FFL with all mags and action wrench
I'm not interested in any trades. Discreet Paypal, Zelle, Cashier's/certified check

New Uvalde/Robb elementary body camera footage

It’s been 3 years and they still haven’t released all the footage ; so I’m guessing there is absolutely nothing redeeming in any of the footage .

Over 400 local state and federal law enforcement officials stood around and did nothing but arrest parents for over an hour . While a tranny gun men killed 19 kids under the age of ten.

Who wants to be the first to step up and tell us they did a great job?

How would you solve this?

Next week my one and only grandson comes to visit. I love this child and want the best for him.

Time is always the essences of family visits. Extended range time for multiple family members is limited to flight times.

The compromise I can come up on short notice is to limit guns and ammo used. Be safe and work within the limits were are-dealt
The potential host are Ap5’s.

1with Rad 9 long configurations .

The other with an identical AP5 using an OCL.

Ammo is 150 grain federal Syntec in each gun . Guns may be fired a max of 5 rounds.

Target is a safe sand trap off grand mom’s deck. Grand mom is cool.

Which gun ammo?

Will set up would you use. Both have recently cleaned and working perfectly.

Rimfire WTS - CZ 457 action with L3I barrel (match chamber)

I’m probably going to regret this, but I need some space in my safe. For those of you who has seen my posts, I’m a huge believer in the L3I barrel. My other barrel is the Wasp. While it doesn’t shoot as tight as this one, the bolt close is easier. That’s the only reason I picked this one to rehome. I did email L3I and they are still offering a rehabbing service in case the match is too much for you too.

Comes with the barreled action as you see it - MDT scope rail properly clearanced for the barrel (not just slid back), extended mag release, DIP “Big Juan” bolt knob, and factory trigger that breaks around 1.25 pounds. I run eley in it, and it shoots lights out.

$1000 shipped to your FFL

Located just south of Nashville, TN. No trades.

Really cool early US Optics catalog/reference Something we probably should sticky!

I just got this link from @sniper307 in our discussions on an early-bell ST-3 scope.

This is a fantastic reference and is a full downloadable PDF of USO scopes when they were at the top of their game and right as folks were discovering them. (Remember months-long waits for custom USO's?)

Thanks @sniper307 for this link. Though my memory is still good, this fills in some fantastic materials/details and is a great reference.

Cheers,

Sirhr

Proper assembly for pre-fit on ARC CDG action?

Afternoon, all. I'm looking to build my first "custom" bolt action in 300 PRC, but I've built a ton of precision AR's and a few USPSA competition pistols, so I'd like to think I'm not entirely clueless when it comes to general gunsmithing. I don't have a reloading setup (or the room for it at the moment), so the 300 PRC seemed like the best widely-available commercial ELR cartridge in .30 caliber, which was another requirement in order to fit a modular can I already have that I'd like to use on it. This will be mostly just a fun shooter and safe queen, as my first full bolt build...no plans for serious competition with it.

Anyway, I'm putting an X-Caliber carbon-wrapped pre-fit on an ARC Coup de Grace LA CIP action. X-Caliber says not to use a barrel clamp on their carbon-wrapped barrels (which is fair), but the CDG doesn't work with any action vices I've been able to find. The barrel nut I'd be using has flats for a standard 1 1/4" wrench, and the CDG action wrench has a hex fitting on the rear to fit a normal socket. Would the proper process for assembling this be to set the headspace and wrench down the barrel nut by hand, then clamp the barrel nut itself in my vice (with some tape on the flats) and use the CDG action wrench to set the torque?

Also - ARC says to torque the action on the barrel to 100-150lb/ft, but most pre-fit instructions with Savage small-shank barrel nuts say to use in the 60-80-ish range. Is there some common tribal knowledge on if I should listen to ARC or to other pre-fits on this, since the ARC action is generally made for shouldered barrels that are already headspaced? Appreciate any help and advice you all can give. Thanks all!
