What is the feedback on the new 700s out? Pros and cons

Arken is running a sale on their optics for 25% off and the EP-5 is tempting. I am about to send my SH-4 in for an RMA, but am tempted to pick this up because having mag up to 25x would be nice. Total after tax is $430 and change.

I already have a 20 moa 34mm one piece mount I got from Arken last year. Curious if anyone has another suggestion for a sub $450 - $500 optic in a similar magnification range. Ideally 34mm, but not opposed to 30mm. This will be going on a 22lr to take out to 600 yards+ and mounting on other rifles to check how accurately they group.

Heyo all - moving to the US from the UK imminently and long-range target shooting has always been an interest of mine (plus have some in-laws desperate to take me hunting), and would be great for someone to look over my plan for getting into the sport. Almost all of my experience so far has been clay pigeon shooting with a 12 gauge so this is a new one to me. I'd like to spend less than a $1,000 on equipment to start with, but also not buy any duds - I'd like a capable hunting rifle if I later decide I like the sport enough to upgrade

Plan is to get something like a Ruger American in .308, something I can use for deer and as a starting point for PRS. For optics, Swampfox seem to be a good brand for starting out with - either their Patriot riflescope, or the Saber 5x prism scope. The prism scope seems appealing because of the simplicity, but input would be great. I have very good eyesight but I also have never used a scoped weapon before.

Any advice or input would be great, and thank you!

excuse my ignorance, but I have never delved into the topic of ammo specific scopes before. But now I am planning to get a CZ 457 Varmint which I want to shoot with not more than 50-100 yards (maybe try 200 at maximum). Now I am wondering which scope to get.

I was wondering if it would be a real advantage to have the scope that is made for .22 caliber rifles. The Droptine variants of Burris are cheaper and have less quality glass, so the better option built quality wise would be the Fullfield. But maybe it is an advantage to have a reticle that is aligned with the caliber.

What would you recommend for my purposes? Thanks!!

Just about to finish this. Going off for finishing next week. I got a hold of a set and fully digitized it and made some. As exacting and correct as I could do.

They do not require small tac-welds to hold them together. They will also withstand unlimited amounts of shooting 308win / 7.62 under normal bolt action conditions.
