Sidearms & Scatterguns Dear Glock and racegun owners,

I have a question for you. Let's say a guy has a gen 5 G17 sitting there, and this guy is bored. Should he trick it out and put racey go fast parts on it? I mean, if the gun is just sitting there and it's kinda boring like it is so...

I'm asking because I don't have a racegun, kinda want one, and have a donor. What's the good, the bad, and the ugly of doing this? If it's a bad idea, I want to know why.

SOLD Labradar, recoil & mic triggers, battery pack, tripod, and hard case

I am the original owner. I have had this for a few years and it has always been very accurate and consistent once you learn how to set it up. I primarily use it for rimfire. I bought the triggers but never needed them so they are unused. It's always been transported in the hard Pelican case shown. Includes the box, and all manuals.
$690 shipped for everything less the hard case
$790 shipped with the hard case (shipping will be a lot more with this hard case as it is heavy)

“Hearing Safe” Cans for 6.5 CM bolt rifle?

Hi all,

New to this site. I’m looking for my first suppressor for a 6.5 CM bolt gun. I’d like to get a list of the suppressors you folks have used successfully that “sound” like they’re hearing safe. I’m going for a 7.62 bore so I can move it around a little bit. No mag dumping or shooting drill type stuff for this unit.

I’m looking for something around 135 dB or less at the ear. I’ve checked Pew Science ratings, for what they’re worth, and have narrowed my field down to:

Nomad LT
Nomad Ti
Energetic Arms Lux
CGS Hyperion
Other?

Do any other cans fall into the “hearing safe” range? I’m putting that in quotes because I know that sound science isn’t really an established standard in the field.

I’m trying to optimize lowest price, hearing safe (very good to excellent sound suppression, and titanium. However, I’d go steel baffle for the money saved if hearing safe (Nomad 30 or Nomad L, for example).

Thanks for any info and I hope I haven’t repeated another thread.

Accessories Parts lot - Bipods, optics, MBs, light

Ideally I’d love to sell this as a lot.. hoping to price it low enough to make it happen.

2 Harris bipods. Work ok. Don’t have any type of mounting adapters

2 muzzle breaks - lantac and surefire for 556.

Bushnell elite 4500 4-16. Never used. Made in Philippines

Sig sauer sierra3bdx 2.5-8 in warne rings. Illuminated “electro” reticle or whatever it’s called.

Surefire TLR-1 HL. Works fine.

$450 for all shipped. PP FF or zelle. I have a busy work schedule so might take a extra day to ship.

May end up removing batteries from light and sig depending how I ship.

Creating a fictional rifle for a Novel.

Hi,

I'm looking to get some help that will give me a strong basis for a fictional rifle in a novel I'm writing. The novel is focused on the role of a military sniper. But I am struggling on what to give my character in terms of equipment (weapons) as there is such a huge variety of platforms out there that all seem very appealing.

Because of the high volume of custom rifles out there I decided I would do the same for my character's rifle. But I'm a little torn between calibres and so I wanted to ask for input on this seeing as I haven't fired a weapon myself. Although I do intend to own a rifle, but that's further down the line.

The requirement I'm looking for in the rifle is to be capable of shooting accurately between 600 - 1200 meters, but also capable of longer ranges and having a high level of power once it hits it's target. I have seen famous rifles such as the Tac-338, and although it's a great rifle, I know everyone would likely scream Chris Kyle rip-off. So there's that.

I am particular to the Accuracy International ATAICS Chassis.
335050743_587705223013563_8737709269421490981_n.jpg

I really like the look of this rifle, but I'm pretty sure it's only capable of firing a .308 round. If I could chamber it in .338 I would but I know a gun enthusiast would cry foul, and rightfully so I think. So my search begins with two questions..

1. What calibre and bullet would meet this requirement?

2. If I did want to create a custom rifle, is it possible to create a rifle based on the ATAICS chassis?

Getting bids from contractors

I had a tree that got blown over from some high winds we had recently. Fortunately it fell across an adjacent easement, pushing a barbed wire fence down that doesn't really matter, but no damage to anything else. It's accessible, and not really a problem. So we're getting quotes from contractors to come out, cut it up, and remove it. Can I handle it, maybe, but it's a big tree, and the way it's sitting, there's a possibility that my dumbass will cut something and the trunk will roll onto me, not enough to kill me, but enough to really alter my future. Anyway, we're getting several free quotes, and we're going for the cheapest because money is tight with teen daughters and looming college tuition bills this fall. Why do I feel like a dick for having to tell these guys that they didn't get the job? Is it because I spent a little bit of time talking to them, kinda getting to know them a little bit? I don't want to just ignore them, they spent the time to come all the way up here to write up a bid. Any advice for a better way to approach getting bids in the future to where I don't feel like such a jerk having to tell them they didn't get the job?

Feedback Scammer alert LADSNIPE beware

Ladsnipe got me for a 1000$ dollars. I tried to purchase a DBAL-A3 off him. We worked a deal I sent him money via Venmo which was not my first choice. He said is PayPal was frozen, from a firearms purchase. More than likely it was from scamming m1ajunkie for a NF ATACR last week. Ladsnipe never sent me any tracking or verification of shipment. I should have received the item last Wednesday. He ghosted me for 5 days then made contact with me this morning still no shipping info…said USPS lost it. He declined my Venmo refund transaction. Gave him my phone number and he never had reached out to me…

I’ve been a member on here for a long time mostly just acquiring information and looking to see what’s for sale. The last few months I bought and sold a few items, some very expensive and others not. I’ve had very good results it’s a great community too bad a crapy select few have to steal their money. One thing I have noticed NOT a lot of people leave positive feedback even after I have left one for them after a positive deal. It’s hard to built a good reputation if people don’t help out after great communication and honesty..
Good luck and watch out

"Stormy" takes one in the kiester.

We can only hope.

After a federal appeals court upheld that award last year, Daniels stated: “I will go to jail before I pay a penny.”

Bill Wylde has passed

It is with deep sadness that I inform you of Bill WJ Wyldes passing. He pioneered accurate AR's in the 80's. Bill invented the Wylde .223 chamber. And had a hand in some special rifles (carbines) for some of our nations best. He did independent testing of ammunition for Federal to come up with the 223 69 gr match load and the 175 308 match load. Bill was an accomplished shooter, having won the Canadian long range (F-Class) championship I believe 3 times.

Bill even befriended a dumb kid from nowhere Illinois and built him a few rifles and allowed him to shoot on 500 yard private range. Probably got tired of me pestering him on the telephone (before cell phones) to go shoot on a Sunday afternoon.

We are diminished.
