Astroscope 9350 - there's a lot to talk about here. This is a camera adapter that lets you take night vision photos and videos with normal DSLRs or mirrorless cameras, but it can also be used as a monocular or even a spotter when combined with the right lenses. These use a quick swap caddy that you can plug any normal gen 3 tube into. The system then has a front lens adapter and back body adapter that power the image intesifier. The included image intensifier is I believe an Omni VII of a very high spec, since it was intended to be used in cameras. Here is a sample video at 100 yards: Login to view embedded media . I have the following front lens adapters: PVS-14 front lens adapter (includes pvs 14 lens), Canon EF mount front lens adapter (this has variable gain knob, but the knob is broken. Sofradir quoted me $500 to fix, doesn't affect function it just runs on autogain as a result). I have the following back body adapters: Canon EF mount (provides power from the camera), Monocular Back body adapter, Back body adapter without a lens. Also have an extra caddy. Asking $5000

Armasight by FLIR 640 thermal bi-oculars. Has the 640x512 FLIR Tau 2 chip and 800x600 OLED screen. Also has 2x optical 42mm f1.1 germanium lens, very good for long range detection. I'll include a DVR and mount from ragecams that you can use to record videos. You can also use that screen in lieu of looking down the binos if you're scanning on a tripod or for your buddy to look at while you're using them. Here's a sample video of my car exhaust: Login to view embedded media Asking $3000 $2900 2400

I believe ITAR applies to all of this stuff so US citizens only.
I'll ship anywhere it's legal (US only), charge actual shipping cost. Able to meet between Richmond and VA beach.

V4 auto throw update

Just got this email. V4 update finally out.

Hello!

This is a group email intended to reach everyone with an AutoTrickler V4. I have just released a new update for the AutoTrickler app, which will likely be automatically installed on your phone / tablet within a day or so if you have automatic updates. This is version 1.2.0. This is the first update since the original release of V4, and it's a big one.

In my last email from January (https://autotrickler.com/pages/jan-2023-update), I asked for feedback. Your excellent responses were very much appreciated. I saved most of them into a document and summarized the key points into a spreadsheet. This provided a helpful, broader understanding of how the AutoTrickler is being used day to day and confirmed that the only change really needed was to improve the calibration and tuning process.

This update is 100% intended to help all of you extract full value from your AutoTrickler and save more time in the reloading room.

1. Calibration. The ideal natural flow rate for most powders is 0.20 GN/s. Now the measured values are displayed in a way that makes it very clear if your flow rate is too high or too low for best results.

2. Performance. The way that the settings map to motor speed has been massively improved under the hood. You should find, once tuned, that it will run faster especially near the end of the cycle. There is also a new "buffer" setting which can be adjusted separately from the overall speed to slow down a little earlier and avoid overshooting with larger kernel powders.

3. Help. There are two Help screens which provide a detailed explanation of the settings. I encourage you to read this carefully and experiment to learn the effect of changing each setting. With a solid understanding of how it works, you will be able to tune for any powder quickly and effectively. Always remember you can email me at any time and ask questions or send a video and I am happy to explain further.

4. Profiles. You can now save up to 5 profiles which record a name, the target weight and each of the four tuning values. This should make it easier to switch back and forth between powders. Remember to calibrate after changing powders, and use a separate loading book to remember what your target weight should be.

On my test bench, I have three V4's set up and I often test with CFE223, Varget, H4350, N150, N170, and N570. I have found that all powders work best with a flow rate of 0.20 GN/s. All of these powders will flow at close to that speed with the same tilt angle, except N570. When switching to N570, I place a shim under the back of the scale's rear center foot which lifts the scale and tilts the entire assembly forward. This can be removed when using any other powder. After calibrating and verifying the flow rate is in the correct range, I run a few short cycles to let the powder settle in the tubes, then adjust from the settings shown above as necessary depending on which part of the cycle needs it.

I plan to record a video in a few weeks' time where I will demonstrate the tuning process and how AutoTrickler V4 is meant to run with a variety of powders. I won't send out an email just for that, but I will probably update the app to include a link to the video.

Once again, please email me for honest, accurate answers if you have any questions, concerns, feedback or need help with your AutoTrickler.

Thank you!

Adam

We’re way beyond late night History Channel Documentaries

https://thedebrief.org/intelligence-officials-say-u-s-has-retrieved-non-human-craft/

I might be a little tin-foiled here but these are some awfully credible individuals testifying to Congress about the existence of things that were only conspiracies and rumors over the last 60 or so years. I guess the Ancient Aliens guy might not be so crazy after all.

Anyone else think the lid might be blown open on this topic soon? Sure seems like it’s moved into an official capacity with legitimate people speaking out about it.

If it were, I wonder what the world’s reaction would be? Definitely would be the biggest revelation in the history of our species.

Cover Songs.

In the Hello Darkness thread:

Talk started on cover songs, figured a good topic. There are quite a few well known covers, Johnny Cash Hurt I think being very famous. I figured I would start things off with a few that are not as well known.

The first is the cover, the second the original. I picked this original as the video that goes with it goes with the song. It is age restricted, so you might need to do some hoops to watch it.

EDIT TO ADD, The video is very "adult", not porn or anything just war....dirty nasty war.

I think the cover knocks it out of the park, gives me goose bumps. The original, is good but not as good as this cover. Same deal if the link is "broken" remove the dots.

Second it very famous, and again I think she knocks it out of the park. There are two versions of this out there, one with a "real" backing track, the one I linked and another one just her and a guitar. The thing that blows me away on this is this girl is still in spots. I think with her voice she could go somewhere.

Under the title…You Can’t Make This Shit UP!

Disclaimer. I remain on ”Fakebook”. Why, because our family is far flung, I have extended family members in Arizona, Colorado, Montana, the UP of Michigan, Missouri, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Central Florida and of course, our son lives in Western Florida. Plus, it makes it easy to keep up with all that is important on Caney Creek Lake.

The other day, I saw a little piece that supposedly quoted Socrates about gossip. So, I shared it. The short allegorical story asked the person reporting something about another person to put it to three tests before relaying it.

Those tests
Is it TRUE
Is it KINDNESS
Does it provide UTILITY

Facebook called it down as false information

I guess they are saying its AOK to maliciously attack another all for fun and profit but to be kind and truthful is false and wrong

GOD Why am I here?

Im on the first episode of the Silo series, and I'm calling it now.

Let's see how well this ages.

The inhabitants of the Silo are under the impression that they are in a post war safe haven. They live there after 'the rebellion' was defeated, and in the process, Earth was basically made un-livable due to said conflict. Initially the storyline wants you to focus on other things...but...I'm calling it now:

- Silo is actually a self sustaining 'prison' colony
- Conflict / earth all fucked up is bullshit and a total lie
- Earth is habitable
- Silo inhabitants are actually the losers of the conflict
- Winners are topside - OR - even more diabolical, the Silo is 1 of 1000s and its a way for the rich to basically make all of the consumers/poors live in a giant hole in the ground and not have to deal with them

ARC CDG Lead Times

I've got the bug to build a big blaster, say 300NM. I really want to do it on an ARC CDG but the lead times worry me since I will need a LA, LH, with a LM BF. I'm watching the CDG thread and talking to ARC from time to time but all I hear is ~4 months. That's pretty great these days if that's really what it is. Has anyone seen anything besides the RHSAs in the wild? If I know they're actually shipping, and the lead is really 4 months (or even +6 months), it's game on

Purchasing a suppressor out of state residence

Hey guys, got a odd question. So my wife is active duty military. In the military you can keep your state of residence (aka the state you join in). So I am a Florida state resident (with a Florida driver's license and vehicle plates) but living in North Carolina. So my Florida driver's license has a NC address. How can I buy an NFA item? Every place I talk to says no, and even the silencer shop is stumped. There has to be someone who has had this issue.

Thanks
Jeff

Which .223 bolt gun do I want?

Pardon if this has been asked before but my searches are bringing up nothing of real use.
So I've decided I want to add a good .223 bolt action rifle to my collection. the rifle will be used for target shooting from 100-300 yds from a bench/prone.. Occasionally to 500. My criteria is: heavy barrel profile (22-26") with a 7 or 8 twist, AICS mag compatibility and a decently built and ergonomic stock/chassis ( which will likely eventually get replaced. Finish in SS would be a plus but it's not a deal breaker. Some aftermarket support for customizing would be nice too. Budget is in the $1K-$2K range.
Right now, I'm leaning towards the Tikka T3X Varmint (or super varmint if I can nail down the differences.)
What else should I be looking at? Open to all suggestions that fit the criteria.
