Good news for once....

:D
A middle school in New York and its food vendor, Aramark, apologized after students were served chicken and waffles, along with watermelon on the first day of Black History Month.

The lunch menu offered on February 1 at Nyack Middle School in Rockland County was “inexcusably insensitive and reflected a lack of understanding of our district’s vision to address racial bias,” David A. Johnson, the school’s principal, wrote in a letter to parents.

Rifle Scopes NX8 4-32 vs. ZCO 4-20?

Wondering if anyone has had trigger time behind both optics and could provide any comparisons of the two?

I've been running a 4-32 (MIL-C) in NRL22 for a while. I've looked though a 5-27 (MPCT3) and loved the larger sight picture. The weight and size does concern me a bit, but I'm thinking a 4-20 could have some advantages to a 5-27 and the 4-32.

I'd also be looking to run it for bench shooting at primarily 100y and steel from 100-300y (not sure how well a 4-20 would fair shooting small bore to 300y though).

Thanks in advance!

The NRAs explanation of why the 6.5Creedmoor is better than .260............

"High BC bullets might be important for long-range shooting, but they’re not the only thing that matters. Velocity—just as it always has been and always will be—is important, too. For example, 6.5 Creedmoor is generally touted as being a better long-range cartridge than the .260 Rem., even though the .260 Rem. has more powder capacity and can push bullets faster. The reason for this is that factory rifles for the Creedmoor are built with a 1:8-inch twist as opposed to the 1:9-inch rifling twist of the .260. Because of this, factory Creedmoor ammo can be loaded with higher BC bullets."

SOLD San Tan Tactical 4 rifle part out and safe clean out: Surefire, Bartlein, Geissele, Daniel Defense, JP, BCM, SLR, RCA, and more!

Most of the items are sold. I am keeping the rest.

I have 4 used San Tan Tactical receiver sets for sale. All of them have been assembled and had less than 250 rounds each through them. All of them have PWS buffer tubes with QD end plate and ratchet castle nut. 2 of the receivers have been engraved with my Trust info with the intent of SBRing them. That was never done and they have never been stamped. Both engravings are very hard to see and can't even notice them unless you know where to look.

I parted out 4 rifles and cleaned out the safe to make room and slim down the collection of parts. If you see anything in the pictures that I have not mentioned or listed. Feel free to ask about it.

Should I send barrel back to Faxon, or return to OpticsPlanet and give up on them?

I've had two Faxon Match barrels so far. I have not been impressed from the get-go. These barrels come in a shitty plastic sleeve with zero padding, my latest one was halfway protruding out of the cardboard box OpticsPlanet sent it in.

The first one was a Heavy Fluted Match 18", I was actually decently impressed with how it handled 55gr stuff - shooting cheapo XTAC ammo at a consistent 1.8-2.2 MOA. Unfortunately, on the other side of the coin SMK tipped ammo like IMI/AAC couldn't push past 1.5 MOA. I sold it and instead bought their:

Gunner Match 18", this one is way worse. Shooting a solid 2.0 MOA with SMK tipped ammo, slinging 55gr stuff at about 3.0-4.0 MOA.
image.png

I've tried
  • IMI 77gr SMKs
  • PMC XTAC 55gr
  • Fiocchi 62gr BTFMJ
  • Frontier 68 & 75gr OTM
  • AAC 77gr SMKs and 75gr OTM
These are all loads that grouped well in my old Criterion barrel.

I see a lot of raving reviews on Faxon's review pages - 5 star across the board. Everyone saying their barrels shoot excellently. But I'm 2/2 for barrels that simply do not perform.

I am shooting off bags, with a 10x optic and no wind. I am allowing the barrel to cool for 15 minutes between groups, in 30-40f weather.

I have checked witness marks on my scope, my barrel nut, and my muzzle device. Both barrels were thermally fit into a BCM upper.

For the record, here's the best group I ever shot with my old Criterion, using factory IMI ammo. 5 shots in there.

Do I bother dealing with Faxon's swamped CS and hope #3 is better? Or do I just return to opticsplanet (if they even accept the return).

Thanks

Ever so faint ejector mark

I always load conservatively and probably always will. It’s probably why I’ve never owned a 6.5cm that pushes a 140 at 2800 or a 308 that pushes a 175 at the same speed. Moving on.

Do you guys consider a faint ejector mark as a sign of pressure? I mean so slight that you have to get the angle right with the light to just barely see it? I’m not talking a swipe or an indention. Just an ever so slight shadow without any primer crater or anything of that nature.

Did i ruin my brass?

Hello everyone!

New reloader and I cleaned my brass by hand shaking it in a plastic jug filled with about 75% water 25% white vinegar, baking soda and a bit of dish soap and hand shaking it for about 15mins and then after rinsing them really good and getting the water out of the inside of the case (mostly) putting them in the over @350 for about 20mins to dry.

I didn't notice any blue in the water which I know is a sign of the vinegar leeching the zinc out of the brass but when I pulled them out of the over they kind of have a rainbow hue to them.

do you think they are ruined?

Firearms Withdrawn

Withdrawn.

If you are thinking of messaging with anything less than full value for either the entire package or individual items don't bother messaging. Spare me offers of like 8k for the complete AXSR kit, or 2k for the Raptar. You might think there is blood in the water, think again. I don't have to liquidate this. The last pic is just that, IYKYK, it is worth more than 75 flips.

This is dusty because it just came back from the range. It will be cleaned up. Everything is in excellent condition.

I bought this in January from a hide member. Only shot the 6.5 barrel on this rig.

Best biometric safe

I have a Sentry Safe, as seen in the attachment, and have not been pleased with it. It's rare that it opens on the first time and we all know if the situation arises where you need your HD pistol it's a life or death situation. Do you guys have any you suggest that the biometric part has opened without fail on the first try?
