I have a 33xc chambered barrel in which I shoot 300 grain bergers at 3100 fps. Just installed a new brake. It is at an angle of 20%. To time it, I will have to use a washer. However I wonder, how important it is to time a muzzle brake perfectly? Does it impact percision, ES/SD something etc? If it is not going to have a big impact on precision and SDs, then I would like to avoid the labor .... looking for inputs from those with experience/view on this....

Germany should strongly consider implementing a mandatory gender-neutral draft, the country’s Armed Forces Commissioner has said.
Eva Högl, the left-wing politician who serves as Germany’s Armed Forces Commissioner, has suggested that a mandatory one-year draft for all young people could be what is needed to revitalise the country’s military.
The suggestion comes amid numerous reports indicating the progressive country’s armed forces are in a particularly sorry state, with the country’s defence minister openly admitting back in March that the military was incapable of defending Germany from foreign threats.
According to a report by Der Spiegel, Högl believes the return of what she calls a “year of service for Germany” could reverse the country’s fortunes, emphasising that such a mandatory gender-neutral draft could help boost poor recruitment numbers within the country’s army.
The commissioner emphasised that such a mandatory service period could be made completable in either the military or civilian sector, but that young people of all genders could be enticed to join the country’s army by being required to take its fitness exam.
“One could, as in Sweden, invite an entire year of young people to be drafted for the Bundeswehr. And then, if they are fit for military service, let them decide for themselves whether they want to get involved or not,” she said, adding that such a process could be applied to “all genders”.

Although seemingly progressive in its outlook, it is unclear whether the Social Democratic Party member’s suggestion to refresh Germany’s struggling military would actually work in practice.
Even ignoring the issues brought up by Högl herself regarding the lack of staff to train these new recruits, the German army is already struggling with munitions shortages.
In particular, efforts to aid the Zelensky administration’s war effort against Russia has come with a substantial cost to the armed forces, with one senior official warning that armories across the country had been left bare due to government decisions to ship off weapons, ammo and equipment to the Eastern front.
“The support of [Ukraine] with material is still right and serves the security of all of us,” the chief of Germany’s Bundeswehr said in January, before telling politicians that the country needed to keep a basic level of supplies for domestic defence.
“There comes a point where we can no longer do our jobs,” he warned.

Got a killer deal on a AP5 from MKE…. I’ve never farted with pistol cal cans or mp5’s but I’m obsessed with this little bastard. It’s pretty badass. I’m thinking a Omega 9k… any good suggestions?

Anyone tell me what this is? We snagged it while halibut fishing at 1800 feet of water. Can't see any markings and we threw it back over, but looked like something poking out the middle of the hole in the front. We didn't look too close.

Recently picked up the SiCo lower on the brownells sale, and managed to snag a criterion 18" immediately after. So my spr build is happening sooner rather than later. I am wanting to know if, for an 18" small frame, going with an inverse barrel nut system like a seekins or m4e1 enhanced gives any real, tangible benefits to what is meant to be an accurate duty/innawoods rifle.

I am *NOT* trying to build out a sub moa match rifle. If i had wanted to do that I would have been looking at a CLE/WOA/Bart or whatever barrel. I went with the criterion because it's chrome lined and should be at least moa. Anything past moa is just a plus.

What I *AM* trying to do is get a roughly 1 moa rifle that I can abuse the piss out of and brace against all number of barricades or bipods and it not effect the POI. The rifle will be shot primarily suppressed, and is going to be sporting a lightweight mpvo for shooting out to around 700.

I do have experience with the seekins upper on my sp10, and while I think that handguard is a fantastic match/dmr style rifle, I'm not convinced it would be comfortable to shoot off shoulder, which this rifle will be done a lot. I know Aero's m4e1 enhanced uses the same built in barrel nut system as the seekins. Any other companies that do this? Are there any real, tangible benefits to using this system for a small frame compared to a nice thermal fit upper like a mega?

I put a new 18” wilson combat on. With it I installed a new superlative arms gas block and new gas tube. Went to the range and was getting zero gas back to the bcg and it wasnt cycling. Had to hand eject. No sign of carbon on the brass.

Took the gas block off and installed a different new superlative gas block and new gas tube. Blew thru it before installing and was getting air flow. Install it on the barrel with the spaghetti noodle method to ensure alignment. Took it to the range and again failed to cycle at all. Had to hand eject and brass was clean no carbon. Could it be the gas port on the barrel isnt big enough. Should I send it back to Wilson Combat? I tried running the superlative in the wide open to over gas it to see if would do anything. I tried a few rounds in the bleed off setting on the superlative and nothing.

burnt out my first barrel, it was the 24" version.
Now I need a new one and beg for your help, because I have no clue which way to go, but do have some determinations.

Caliber is set with the 6.5 Creedmoor, I do have everything for this caliber and do love it.
Because of price and availability (here in Germany) it should be a Lothar Walther - barrel, everything else (import) would double the price over here.
The length of 24" seems to be a pretty good "in-between" of enough length for speed and manageability.
Heat problems were my biggest restrictions with the original Tikka barrel, after roundabout 4 shots fired (slowly) I got mirage and cooling time was a pita.
So I´d like to have a bit more beef to it, but don´t want to go with a bb.

Here comes my problem.
Lothar Walther has approx. about 100 barrel profiles and I have (except of the thickness) absolutely no clue which of them I should choose.
So,
6.5 CM
24" (26" would be standard at LW?)
twist 1:8"
beefier than the original
should be able to lasersplit hairs (just kidding)

I'm still using my V1 AutoTrickler and while it's decent, I've been using it since it was released and haven't kept up on the latest and greatest. Has anyone used both and would like to offer a recommendation? I like that the V4 AutoTrickler is a self-contained unit now with no external trickler. In the past, I've had to clean and lube the trickler or else it would toss powder all over the platen. I also like that the Supertrickler will have additional add-on equipment that will make reloading even easier, but I guess those will be down the road some time.
